Agreed, but we all know a bunch of douchebags in Supreme hoodies are gonna hoarde them all and resell for $400... this community is trash a lot of the time
I work at a footlocker an often we have some customers (not all elderly but most of them) with either a disability or a dexterity problem who experience difficulty putting their sneakers on. This could be a game changer for so many of those people
I’m 48 and it’s kinda embarrassing for me to try shoes on in public to be honest. Most of the time I don’t tie the shoes I am trying on. I never tie my Jordans anyway so that no big deal but any other shoe...it can be a mess.
@Veer Pal Sad to see they're already reselling on stock x for triple the price. Wish nike can fix this so people like you can benefit from these sneakers. 🙏
same here i have disability i need firm shoes like jordan and was recommended to wear shoes like that it was so hard to get even still now im not really big fan of jordan its sometimes kinda disappointing its not like i choose to be like that and cant understand ppl who trying so hard to get them and even resell them i respect that and ofcourse tying shoes is sometimes hard so i have like the sticker ones its easier but not for everyone else out there (sorry my english sucks)
These shoes have revolutionised my life. I’m disabled, in a wheelchair and have been unable to get my own shoes on (let alone laced) for almost a year (I have a degenerative condition) and if I had to go out at any point in the day I would have to get my bottom half dressed and have one of my kids put my shoes on for me before they leave for school so you would have me sitting in bed with my shoes on at 7.30am for a 3pm appointment. I couldn’t get slippers on anymore to protect my feet around the house, essential when you can’t feel them! I now just feel so free, I don’t have to plan going out somewhere around if there would be somebody to put my shoes on. Not only are they amazing tool for independence but they also look good (I have the black with white detailing and gold on the soles), I can wear a fashionable shoe that fits fantastically and has given back some of my independence.
1. Many of those members may have disabilities or dexterity issues, or know people who do. 2. They’re essentially being used as early adopter guinea pigs to test both the product and market appetite for it. Happens in many industries.
Thanks for this review! As a sneakerhead with a disability (MS) I've been looking forward to this one. However, I'm with you, I'm not digging the Gen 1 styling really, and sounds like there are a few kinks to workout. I'm on the fence. I hope this is just the beginning of the tech, and they adapt it to other silhouettes.
These are a game changer for me! I have severe rheumatoid arthritis. It’s hard to tie my shoes. I do have some other flyease shoes that I love. I have the Lebron Soldier 12s that are awesome. Want to get a pair of the Jordan 1 hyper royals. I will be trying to get a pair of these probably in the black color way.
Good luck copping one man! Although I doubt you will be able to get one because they are in high demand and sell for a lot. I do hope the luck is on the side of those people that would actually need it!
@@saz1519 they’re releasing them for everyone plus I’m not taking the time to lace my shoes when I’m in a rush and even when I’m old I’ll use them for the same reason
I think this is amazing and I hope that everyone who really needs them or want to try them get to purchase them. I’m fairly young but I have Lupus and some days these would be helpful when I’m in a lot of pain and my mobility is affected.
Seems like adding React to the front and back half of the midsole could really help make this a comfort lifestyle shoe. The Flyease Gos feel like a proof of concept.
My Dad suffers from Parkinsonian Gait so getting shoes on and off him are quite difficult since he can't really articulate his feet. I think that when he's finally allowed to go outside again, he'd enjoy having something like this.
I really hope that Nike is going to make them more available to the public over time! Especially other colorways. I'm waiting on your long term review Seth, I want to buy this shoe for my 80 year old grandpa who is starting to have trouble putting on shoes and lacing them up
I’ve been so hyped for this shoe! I’m not disabled or anything but it just sounds good to just put on and take off you shoes without the need for hands to get involved
If they made these water proof they would be amazing for healthcare workers. With the nasty stuff that gets on our shoes it would be nice to never have to touch them taking them on or off.
My biggest worry was how long they would last. I have had mine for a year and half. They still fit snug and the tread is still good. They are the most comfortable shoe I have owned. I work at a grocery store and on my feet 8 hours a day. I didn't realize how comfortable they are until I heard a co-worker complaining about how sore their feet are. I have an autoimmune disease called AS(Ankylosing spondylitis) basically my spine is fusing together. It was getting harder and harder to tie my shoes. This shoe really makes a difference for me. I have all white ones and they are tough to keep clean. I have watched youtube videos and they help a little. The mesh is just hard to get clean.
I have a chronic health condition that causes mobility issues and I really want to pick up a pair of these. Slightly tempted to let the early adopters work out the kinks first and help the price drop slightly.
Trying to get these for my grandma she has a hard time putting on her shoes hope resellers don’t try and get them so that people who really need these can have em
Definitely need these. I'll probably wear them almost everyday and because I often have a lot of stress with school and stuff and am always heading somewhere these would be very quick to put on
Hyped on those tan mid APTHCRY socks tho. I love this idea, but definitely good to have a family of flyease products. I know people with Cerebral palsy who own flyease shoes, but this pair in particular wouldn't be very useful because they have more movement in their hands/arms than their legs. So I hope they continue to expand the flyease line for lots of use cases
The actual use-case of the shoes is for it to be accessible anytime, thus you need to make sure they are fully opened when not in use. Your issue is a nitpick.
As an above knee amputee I can't explain how happy I am to have these come in I can only get the yellow an black ones wish I could get a high tip before I got shot I only wore hightops
Omg!!! I LOVE THESE!! I really hope they are made more readily available! I could see were this would be awesome for kids! And for myself! A mother of young kids & an infant 👶 my hands are always full!! So to be able to put a shoe on that’s not a flimsy flip flop w/out have to wake up my sleeping baby.... I just LOVe THESE!!!
Awesome review. I have just had a kidney transplant and these are perfect for my current situation and finding it difficult to put shoes on. But I just hope I am actually able to get a pair. Fingers crossed everyone.
@@boynafriend thanks. And I didn’t manage to get any and they are all on eBay in the I’m now. Got up early for nothing lol. Guess I will just have to wait longer as I’m not paying me re than I have to.
I just got a pair. I was super happy to get them ordered I have mild cerebral palsy and have difficulty tying shoes with laces. Only bad thing is the Support isn’t the best and runs a bit big in my opinion
Whens the black colourway shown dropping? I see Nike now have a black/white/gum, but not that double black shown?? (edit) I've now been wearing a pair of these Go FlyEase regular for 9 months. All day wear, long walks, running errands, chores, gardening, driving, everything. I can confirm none of Seths comments re the Living Hinge fatiguing or splitting has happened to me. The rubber band has not stretched. Nothing has collapsed. My Fly GoEase still wear like day one. They are a robust build, quite overbuilt in many ways, and so therefore quite heavy for a lifestyle sneaker. My only issue has been inside the sneaker in the heal cup - the 1000's and 1000's of times slipping the sneaker on and off has meant the fabric padding on one of the shoes has worn down, but this could just be down to the way i walk as it's only one shoe. A really good shoe very well implemented by Nike. I hope Nike make a mark 2 just with a lighter bouncier midsole.
I really hope they try to make these for all people and accessible to everyone. Especially people who are disabled in which these shoes were meant for. I know this video is old but still had to comment. Have a great day
Love the concept. But how long will that band last I mean one accidental cut will it render it? Also the part that moves looks like a magnet for lots of small stones and dirt to get in.🤔
Really happy with this video, your best so far seth. So many have skipped over the original purpose of this shoe and FlyEase innovation, or thought that this was the first time Nike had tried something like this. Thanks for going above and beyond the required level of research, and truly informing your viewers.
Appreciate the info Seth. This is 100 times better than a pair of crocs or walking out in slides. No disrespect... It just provides coverage from weather and the elements. Similar to why people wear slip on vans. Can't be too nit picky... its a great design that I'm sure will improve.
@@ianrussell9188 they're not specifically for people with disabilities and your generalisation of the disabled is a disservice to all the amazing Paralympic athletes.
@@coolhand1966 well they are. And you're virtue signalling bull doesn't change that. they were designed for people who can't use their hands properly, to tie laces etc.whether "adaptive" athletes or not. And not all disabled people are Paralympic stars, an example is my mother whom I will be attempting to get them for. my point is I want them to go to the people that need them. Not idiots on IG for likes
@@ianrussell9188 you're using conjecture. if you actually read and watched Nike's marketing material they are clear that the shoe has been created for everybody - although I'm sure adaptive athletes and people with disabilities could find them helpful. sure, not all disabled people are Paralympic stars but many of them participate in sports (including running).
@coolhand1966 The tensioner’s unique flexibility super-charges an action many might take for granted (kicking-off a shoe) and completely reimagines this movement as basis for accessible and empowering design.“Usually I spend so much time to get in my shoes,” says Vio. “With the Nike GO FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump on it. The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone's real life.” directly lifted from the Nike website clever dick. Jesus do you argue with your own reflection?
i was actually mad at this shoe for a long while. i ended up with GBS back in november 2022. after PT and other treatments i needed a sneaker to easily put on and take off. me, being a sneaker head automatically looked at the fly ease line. i wanted these sneakers and could not for the life of me find a pair in my size for at max 120 usd. i was so furious, like seriously i legit need this type of sneaker and nike cant deliver? i ended up settling for another flyease but i was so frustrated that i couldnt get a pair. these were perfect but with piling up medical bills i could never justify the 100 dollar mark up.
How do you personally feel about the colorway. All three of the colorways are not really doing it for me but I can't decide if I want the black to be safe or the crazy colors. Would you see yourself rocking this colorway?
If you keep stepping on the heel when taking off the shoes the heel tab where you step will turn black and dirty very fast. Maybe they shou,d colour the tab black so that it won’t be so obvious when it is dirty.
These are a godsend for my elderly parents. But will have to wait for some toned-down colourways. The styling + colourways available right now are abit too out there for 70yrs old.
Good 411 for it being designed to assist the disabled, as I thought it was for people who just couldn't be bothered with laces and wanted different looking slip-ons.
A tree fell on me five years ago, it is almost impossible to tie a show or do anything that uses finger dexterity. I hope to grab a pair of black shoes.
Will the "living hinge" allow water to get inside your shoes if you step into a rain puddle or sand if you run on the beach? Over time, after some wear and tear, will the living hinge bend or break in half while you're running? I really like this idea, but since this shoe design is new, I'm gonna wait for the next version after Nike has worked out any kinks.
im guessing nike are testing the market to see how fast they will sell toi hopefully match supply, since resellers will probably get these, hopefully nike is smart to go alright BOOM and just smack these out
