People keep speaking of debt. But the question is what is the debt being used for? If we had this debt and seen no roads, bridges, revival of ports, oil terminals, dams, railway lines, hospitals, shipping building terminals, through out the country i would be worried. So Nyoro i can see with my own eyes Kenya is changing. Where there were no roads now there are. Roads and rails are the bedrock of a growing economy. Without roads you have no growing economy. So am not too concerned about the debt. The debts can be resturctured for longer terms . But if i do not see all these infrastucture from all corners of the country then i would be worried. Our taxes can not build all these infrasture so we have to borrow as the country grows so does the debt go up but with tandem with development via infrastructure. You can not grow an economy without infrastructure so borrowing is a must like all countries do. Previously in Moi regime all we saw were people like Moi and his aides getting richer and richer but nothing was been done for Kenyans to the point of many kenyans giving up hope and Kenya witnessed it largest mifartion of people living the country. But today you see folk who left trickling back home, money sent home is one of the biggest foreign excnage generator being used for investment which means Kenyans have confidence in their country. because they can see the improvements. My biggest concern is taming corruption and waste in govt. Infact mismanagment of our country due to luck of good governance and accountability is what is pulling Kenya back. Corruption at the national and county level is concerning. The other is waste. Actaully waste in govt is more than corruption. For instance, Magafuli cancelled all foreign travel by politicians and govt officials only necessary travel was allowed. The TZ govt saved 400million dollars in one financial year. If Kenya did the same, that money could be used to fund free secondary education and restart free school meal programs in every school. Just the other day the Auditor general reported counties spent 12b on travel alone during covid a time when travel was restricted. This is why we need a ward fund today whereby a certain amount of county funds go directly to ward level and village level for people to feel the effects of devolution. Today devolution stopped at county HQ with governors corrupting the funds and building apartments in nairobi and other places like mombasa.

The answer is NO; since its the very same Raila and his ODM party that gave such a dismal performance providing essential support to the Uhuru´s government. First, the pandemic retreat may be in sight, but careful management is still needed. Phasing out of the emergency measures has to be planned and implemented, both in the economic and health sector. Ruto´s government must commit, to overhaul the public budget, reduce unsustainable debts, reduce taxes, eliminate waste and increase productive investment. All this must coexist with a credible public debt reduction plan. Third, trial procedures must be overhauled to increase efficiency and speed. This is a key reform in a country that has by far the longest trial duration in the World. The parliament has authorised the government to act by decree, and Uhuru has failed to safeguard the Constitution and fell short of leadership and integrity. New regulations must now be introduced linking retirement to life expectancy, with penalties for early retirement to ensure financial sustainability
