Charlie Chaplin and so many others, as the Charlie Chaplin movie, Unwatchable??? 40's and 50's is the heart of the Golden era of Hollywood and cinema in general. The decades you mention, have good movies like all eras do, however, in both decades, someone can notice the drop of overall quality. Names like: James Cagney , Humphrey Bogart, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Gregory Peck, John Wayne,,Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin, Gary Cooper, Charles Laughton, Frank Sinatra, James Stewart, Orson Welles, Clark Gable, Anthony Quinn, Cary Grant, Paul Newman, Glenn Ford, Richard Burton, Spencer Tracy, Gene Kelly, Henry Fonda, Laurence Olivier, William Powell, Ronald Colman, Steve McQueen, Alec Guinness!, Charles Boyer, James Mason... You can't even compare any of them to Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger. That's how GREAT, that era was, and that's how poor, the art of acting which cinema should have been, has become. Is there any modern genre, that can be compared, or even come close, to Film Noirs or Alfred Hitchcock's movies??!!!! Vertigo, Rebecca, to name a few. Mid 30's Can a more modern movie, touch Gilda, Casablanca, or Ben-Hur??!!! and I didn't even mentioned Actresses, like Ingrid Bergman, Merilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor to name a few.. Can't be muched by the actresses of 80's.

In your opinion only. I watch all decades and get some great entertainment from each. From 2000 on the number of really good ones has fallen though I can skip through most of them in 30 minutes and not miss much at all

They even claim there to upload ‘the good, the bad, & the so bad, it’s good. Join the cult!’ So no excuses if you’re here. 😅 I have to agree with others who mention the great stars of yesteryear, and some of the great ‘film noir’ offerings. There are numerous channels offering movies on RU-vid, mostly free, so there is surely plenty of choice. I’m grateful for these uploads. Certainly some better movies here than some of the deplorable very modern uploads elsewhere with gratuitous violence and sex with lousy scripts using D grade actors!

@@mikepriverguy I'm 42 and I haven't been able to watch all Film Noirs and that's just one Genre of movies!! I always find a great movie from that era, that for some reason I've missed! We can't watch them all, it will take 2 maybe 3 lives, and it will still be some good movies missed!!
