My take on this is the fact that everyone pretends school isn't hell. Stuff like "these are the best days of your life" as well as the pressure to be special and perform well, how insulting it is that people deny this and how brutally funny the whole situation is. The forced optimism and bright colours signify the bright coat of paint people make it out to be.
I’m not sure it’s just school, but teenage life in general, “best tears of your life” being a play on the words “best years of your life” used to describe teenage years, when teenage life is usually when you are very insecure, depressed and angry

I just discovered The Happy Fits 3 days ago, and they're the best band I've ever stumbled upon. Each song has so much emotion. I love the cello in their songs too, it just adds a bit of spice.
Your songs are brilliant and the best to listen to in the morning while making a breakfast tea and getting ready to uni/work but they make me feel like a main character of a series with slightly sad plot

i wont lie i listened this song a lot without ever looking at the music video and i thought it was about a famous girl who peaked and became depressed after losing her popularity. great song tho its fantastic
