The reminded me of my first hospice patient. I told her 'you are my first hospice patient' . She smiled and said 'well, you are my first hospice nurse'. She told me once that she always wanted a daughter and God made her wish come true before she passed. She and i would tell each other 'if I don't see you tomorrow, i will see you at the Pearly Gates'. The night before she passed she told me 'when it comes your time, i will come to you and be there for you.

My dad held on in hospital for 14 days after they stopped his feeding tube as he had pneumonia and every time I left I had to tell him it was ok if he went. He was really emotional the first few times and would hug for so long never wanting it to end. It was hard to walk away knowing it might be your last glance. As the days went on and he was only conscious some of the time it was easier walking out the door but trying to relay to him how much you love him in the windows he's asleep not knowing if he will be awake when you leave the hospital for the night was.. really emotional.

@@adisyncunningham297my dad had a feeding tube due to emergency tracheostomy performed and was told he would never eat again. Any food or liquid in his mouth was a choking risk due to inhalation so he was only allowed small bits of water to lubricate his mouth. He found this really hard for the last couple months of his life and when he vomited and inhaled it one day he got pneumonia and became terminal anyway so all the rules went out the window. He was having potato cakes, icy poles, fizzy drinks, gummy snakes. 😂 We snuck them to him in the hospital and he was like a kid on Halloween night. 😂 It's was a bit naughty and rebellious but he didn't think he would ever taste food again and that's all he wanted. Plus he was dying anyway. I've never seen someone so happy to be eating.

It’s crazy how long they hold on. When my mom was sick with cancer, I lived about an hour and a half away. I came to visit her, the next day I was getting ready to leave and go home. My sister begged me to stay one more night. I told her I couldn’t because I worked in the morning and she just kept begging me to just leave early in the morning. I asked my friend who was with me if they cared if we stayed the night again and left early and they were cool with it so we stayed one more night. I was woken up at 5am that morning by my mom’s best friend telling me to come into her room because it was time. Me and my sisters held her hands and told her we were all with her and she passed a few moments later. 9 years later in saying goodbye to my grandma in the hospital and I am holding her hand and I get a shock through my body and see my mom and grandpa and they are waiting for her. I told my grandma that they were there with her and she passed in that moment.

It’s rude and mean to tell them god isn’t real. Your not gonna change their opinions, so just leave them alone. @OoOpizza”HE” absolutely does not “take kids” and it’s so awful that nonbelievers like you’d at this garbage about the one who literally created you and gave you life! These awful things happen because of sin. NOT BECAUSE OF GOD! Sun is evil, poisons in the food, air, and water are evil and they cause illness. Genetics caused by yep you guessed it SIN, cause illness. Parasites cause illness. The list goes on and on. You can’t blame YOUR CREATOR for the bad things that happen because of what creation decided to do with their own free will. I pray you wake up soon. I pray you truly seek God Almighty before it’s too late. He wants you in heaven with Him for eternity, but if you keep on with the way you’re believing and speaking you won’t have that. Friend I promise, you do not want to spend all of eternity away from God. He is the very reason we have any joy, peace, or comfort in this world. Remove Him and you have an eternity of literal torture. We’ve been made to believe that “if you can’t see it or they can’t show proof it isn’t real” and that was done on purpose to separate you from God. DO NOT LET SATAN WIN! You will be begging forgiveness on judgement day.

Oh boy that one got me. My final goodbye to my sister was me promising that I'll see her later. My mom didn't want me staying at the hospital up until the moment she passed because it was just too much for her to be worried about me on top of grieving her own daughter. Yesterday I officially outlived my sister when I turned 33. That's a surreal feeling believe it or not.

@@averageSockyep! Look closely around the time “the patient” mentions something about the nurse is going to have a line of people waiting for her when she gets to heaven. I remember the first time I truly experienced the death of a loved one. My grand-grandma died when I was around twelve. I remember being at their house and my parents didn‘t want me to see her on her deathbed. I started drawing a picture for her in the kitchen, as I used to, when I was a kid. After a while I wanted to see her one last time and lay the drawing next to her. When she heard my voice, she started asking loudly for my name and looking for me. I never had such an emotional and strong hug in my entire life. She was an amazing woman❤

This reminds me of a doctor named Jodi who bought my grandma birthday presents and hung out with her when ever the family wasn’t there. When my grandma was starting to take less breaths per minute we all went to go see her. When we got there Jodi walked out with her eyes red, and said I just didn’t want her to die alone. My grandma passed a few days later because she kept fighting, Jodi was someone who barely knew my grandma but knew she was one of the sweetest people you could meet. Jodi is a person who was a friend of my grandma, and I thank her and the hospital for everything they did while my grandma was there. Jodis my hero ❤

I once visited the hospital to visit my ailing father, and his room was empty, I was crushed, so I just walked around the hallway and I saw two young people working as they pushed a patient along, and I saw one of them stroking the forehead of this patient, and as I got closer I saw it was my dad. I was so impressed by their behavior towards my father, since they didn't know him but they treated him as if they really cared and were worried about the bumps and jostling they were putting this patient through. I got to tell them he was my dad and I followed them to the new room. It takes a special type of person to do this work, and of course there are horrible stories, but there are so many wonderful caring people working in the field.

This reminds me of when I was working in a nursing home. Everyone was always heartbroken when we heard a resident was gonna be dying. Their families would come from all over but the saddest part was most of the time these residents wouldn’t get visitors until their families were told they were dying. In my unit we only had one man who’s wife would come visit him every day, everyone else would maybe get a visit on birthdays and holidays

My mom passed away almost 15 years ago. I must say the hospice nurses were angels on earth. There was a nurse that towards the end would sing gospel songs to her. She would also read the Spanish Bible to her even though she didn't read in Spanish. She would sound out the words and did really well. In her last moments, the nurse sent us(5 sisters) away to rest since she knew mom was hanging on so as not to see us suffer. she took her last breath within 30 minutes.
