i've created an au while watching this video: Nicky got powers and had a mishap that caused him to time travel to the past before he was supposed to be alive which set off the chain of events that made the kids with powers be born and then he tried to time travel back to his family but when he got there the future had changed and his family didn't exist so he was adopted into the hargreeves family and everything happened he became five and allison did her little whisper thing that made him and the rest of the family forget that he wasn't always there. so nicky became five and didn't remember that nicky ever existed which is why he acts so different but still the same.

I got an au! So, after season2, when he tries to get them home, his family gets home but not him. He travels between universes( Like America Chavez) and ends up being reborn as Nicky Harper. For the first few years of his life, everything is normal. But when he turns 13( season 4) , he remembers everything. He puts on an act so no one gets suspicious. He starts to drink a lot of black coffee, starts doing better in school. And sleeping less. And starts looking for ways to get his powers back.
