Happy Halloween! Join us for a night at the Jerome Grand Hotel in Jerome, AZ! Said to be Arizona's most haunted hotel, this former hospital has some history to tell.
----
In this week's video, we made the trip up to Jerome, AZ. About 2 hours north of Phoenix, AZ, Jerome is a former copper mining boom town. The Jerome Grand Hotel initially opened as the United Verde Hospital in 1926. It was built to replace the old hospital that was damaged due to a fault shift caused by mine blasting.
Upon opening, the 30,000 sq ft poured in place concrete building was considered to be the most state-of-the-art hospital in Arizona. The United Verde Hospital served the mine workers, the citizens of Jerome and the surrounding Verde Valley.
While no medical records were left behind, it’s believed that around 9000 people perished before its closure in 1950, one of them being the mysterious death of Claude Harvey, the hospital’s maintenance worker. He was found pinned at the neck beneath the hospital’s Otis Elevator on April 3, 1935. The autopsy indicated he was already dead before the elevator hit him. His death remains a murder mystery.
The former hospital was abandoned for 44 years before being purchased in 1994 and converted into the now Jerome Grand Hotel. We’re here today to stay the night in what’s considered by many to be Arizona’s most haunted hotel.
Thank you for coming along on this adventure, be sure to like and subscribe and we'll see you in the next one!

Excellent (as usual)!!!! Love the intro and all of the trivia. Loved the testimony from the hotel employee! I will NEVER forget the distinct “evil growl” I heard walking along one of the off roads at dusk, made my blood run cold.

I stayed in room 32. I woke up in the middle of the night with a huge black shadow standing above my bed choking me. I couldn't breathe. This was a real experience and Ill never forget it and will NEVER return. I went into the whole experience not believing the paranormal. This certainly changed my perspective. Nobody could pay me enough money to stay in that room ever again never mind that hotel/hospital.

You probably had a sleep paralysis, and the fact that you're subconsciously expecting a paranormal phenomenon made your imagination think there is someone choking you.

You two are people of quality. Beautiful. Thank you for not being sensationalistic rude disrespectful and trying to exploit the hotel for your 15 minutes like so so many other people do when it comes to this place...ie.. Ghost adventures etc. I honestly however wish the people would just focus on what a jewel the hotel is. It's a timepiece to another era and a real piece of history that should be seen as such .

Thanks so much for the kind words! We truly appreciate it. We enjoy staying at older/historical hotels - they just have a unique charm to them and always have far more character than anything more modern. Sure, these older hotels tend to be "haunted," and while we don't entirely dismiss that notion, we don't go out of our way to try and "have an experience." We're just happy to share our stays at these unique hotels, and we're glad they're still operating today. Thanks for watching!

i stayed in room 30 back in March. The receptionist told me that it used to be the nursery. Supposedly the room get visits from ghost children. I didn't see anything. The balconies where used so that TB patients could have access to fresh air. She said that it is beleived that 9,000 patient died from TB in the hospital. Jerome is a great place to visit though. I will definitely go back again.

We stood in the grand suite this weekend. It was the original operating room. We did our own little investigation in the halls and our room and we got to go into room 32 briefly when we met the people staying there. Didn't get any reading in 32. Our room we didn't get much except for this one spot would have a high EMF and it would get higher the closer to the floor you got. A few inches to the left or right and the EMF would drop off. No voltage detected their either. But it was consistent so not sure what it was. I still have a bunch of audio, video and pics to review.
