The Haunted Mansion (PS2) - A Game That Deserved Better 

This game deserves better. It was such a creative horror game that had concepts that stood out even in an era filled with fantastic horror games!

One of my favorite parts that NO ONE ever touches on...the "after lights" friendly ghost interactions (they had at least 2 sets of dialogues each when you interact with them). These "friendly ghosts" are some characters on their own...from the Ghost aunt in the children's room, the separated wedding couple in 2 separate rooms, the old lady who drank tea with Rat poison (an tries to give you some), the duelist who can "smell his beady little eyes", and the captain who died from a mutiny because he was trying to swindle his crew (he kept trying to swindle you too, from an equal split of 40% to a full 10%). Also...in the conservatory, yep, I agree with the one ghost musician...the song needs more cowbell!!! Also, the Hitchhiking Ghosts (Ezra, Phineas, and Gus) are in separate rooms as well...still trying to hitch a ride!!! They should have kept going...the writing was genuinely comical sometimes.

ps2/gamecube era was legitimately one of the best times in gaming

Whenever my dad played this on his ps2, I would get scared and hid away, even though it was a Disney game, I respect it

7:30 most traumatizing enemy as a young child lol didn’t expect that at all

I just booted up this game that has been lost in the closet for years. It is still rich in atmosphere as I remember, but I know why this game is so easily forgotten. The main and most frustrating enemy IS THE CAMERA! Dear lord, the thing INSISTS on moving and staying behind Zeke in some of the worst places! This is why the Conservatory is so difficult. It isn't ghosts or spiders, it's the freaking camera that won't let you see where you need to aim to jump! Yes, the right stick will let you move the camera, but it refuses to stay where you put it. I fight the camera more than anything else in this game.

I never beat this game when i was a kid. But im so happy that i played it. Was honestly one of my favorites games when i was a kid. Also the banshee woman were honestly the scariest for me

Never seen, heard or played this game before but this was such a good showcase of it that I felt like I played it myself

I really enjoyed this man. Solid video on a under appreciated game in my opinion. I think the big spiders in this game really started my phobia that I have today

This was an underrated gem for the 6th gen. I have all 551 American GameCube games, and I think this is one of the better games for the system

I miss playing this game for the first time, I first played the game when I was like 6 or 7. My dad purchased a used ps2 with some games to go with it (this being one of them) off of craigslist I believe. This was one of the first scary games I've ever played too, this game did a hell of a job scaring the absolute shit out of 7 year old me. I would love to see a potential remake of this game but it's been so long I doubt they would even bother. Also that museum part was literal hell to get through lol

I bought it back when it was new. Then like a dumbass, I sold it thinking I was done forever (don’t sell video games, you’ll regret it). I just got it on eBay for $12 and I’m glad to have it back in my collection again. As I get older, I like to give the underdog games a fighting chance.:)

Awww mate I love this idea but not gonna lie, I immediately thought this was gonna be Eddie Murphy's spook house movie the game. There's so many of these shitty (but also very cool) old games in this era that everyone's forgotten about that deserve to be covered. I was obsessed with James Bond Nightfire back in the day. 'Member that? I 'member. I swear that game was equally as good in the early FPS genre as Goldeneye. It did so many cool little things that were novel and fun.

I love this game

I love how the main ghosts are perfectly kind and normal, and then you just have these haunted floating ghosts and insane inhuman looking bride ghosts that are out to kill you. How do the ghosts in this mansion even work. Also, the HAUNTED MANSION game (meant to capitalize the first letter not the entire word!!) had nothing to do with the movie, it came out before it.
