Thank you for helping raise awareness about this very dangerous activity. Today, we think it's important to also include the use of any type of social media, while driving (live streaming, snapchat...) as dangerous and careless distracted driving.
@SR22 Agency please i beg you do the same test for few days in Cyprus!!!!!! the percentage they are talking or texting shoudl be more than 60% of the drivers!!!!!!!!!
For what it's worth, some constructive criticism: 1) When you link to your source, make sure to link to your *actual* source, not the site on which one of your blog posts is the actual source. 2) With regards to the actual blogpost, you guys list eating / drinking as a distraction. Does this include sipping a drink via a straw? Really? 3) "Talking to the other people in the car" is listed as a distraction. Really? I would wager money on the proposition that not a single employee at this insurance company follows that rule. Speaking of which, if I was speaking when I got into a collision, wouldn't that make it partially my fault by this logic? I was distracted, after all. 4) "There is no such thing as a safe distraction from driving". This just begs the question of what counts as a distraction. Frankly if you guys were serious about insisting that ANYTHING that takes my eyes off the road makes it a distraction, I would like to see you guys petition to remove any and all adds present on motorways / highways / freeways. While we're at it, let's remove bumper stickers, and tint all windows lest a kid in the car in front of me starts making faces.
You said AR33 "ANYTHING that takes my eyes off the road makes it a distraction". That we can agree on. Your so called constructive criticism tells me allot about your driving habits! :-)
And how many are hurt / killed by the type of vehicle they drive in and the lack of the federal bumper rules. The automobile that sits higher up has the better chance of keeping the passengers safe. (SUV sales) If the public / government was so concerned about the "innocent", why are the laws not enforced? The auto industry is about selling cars, not keeping the public safe. And has plenty of lobby groups / money to make the government look the other way. www.iihs.org/iihs/news/desktopnews/federal-bumper-rules-should-apply-to-suvs-pickups-vans-and-cars-alike en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crash_incompatibility
Let's pretend it's the distractions, not the fact that even have these death traps which destroy our atmosphere, that is the ridiculous and dangerous part. That's what the motor companies are paying for you to think.
