The thing I really love about this scene is how clever the Horseman is; it exemplifies that this isn't just some mindless monster or zombie. It's the spirit of a trained and experienced warrior that can do more than just hack and slash it's way through problems.

I admired those town minutemen, despite knew it was futile to shoot the horseman with their muskets but still vigorously loaded their weapons and races to put leads into it's body... I mean... just....😅

It's a bad day when Principal Rooney clubs Emperor Palpatine only to get shot by Professor Dumbledore before Dumbledore gets skewered and then beheaded.

That moment when you realize that the guy killed with a blow to the head is also played by Ian McDiarmid, better known as Darth Sidious, or Emperor Palpatine.

It's interesting how the horseman cannot enter holy ground on account of how he has risen from the dead in an unholy fashion.

Does anyone else notice the pose he was making before he got impaled? 🤪

Sleepy Hollow is a good movie. Gruesome - but good.

This movie is so good. It has MANY good actors and actresses, and a couple good genius ideas like this. 0:42 to 0:56 It makes sense that the Headless Horseman cannot enter the church. It’s holy ground and he’s an unholy being, kind of like Vampires and the immortals from Highlander. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it’s outstanding that the Headless Horseman outsmarted a whole church full of people. 1:54 , 2:16 and 2:45 This is probably the coolest, smartest and most brutal thing the Headless Horseman has ever done. Of course I feel bad for Katrina for witnessing this, and her father for most likely being in agony for the last 30-ish seconds of his life. But great one, Horseman. For a guy without a physical brain, you’re insanely smart.

The whole church sequence is just utterly hilarious tbh.

This scene is so sick! (And I don't mean in a gross way) it is so intense, and yes despite not having a head the horseman is quite clever and has sneaky ideas. Also can we talk about Christina Ricci's scream??? So good! She sounds and looks so visually terrified

Masbeth kid was a likeable character and good to see him get his shot in at the horseman for his dad. Good touch by burton to the story. Same with brom fighting the horseman

You know, Headless Horseman outsmarting everyone aside, the people were a little foolish. I mean that they carved SHARP wooden spikes for certain parts of the fence and the poles for the church podium. Who came up with that? All it takes is someone to slip and fall the wrong way and they are impaled.

Horseman has no head yet, he outsmarts the militia. lol

Was the horseman unable to enter because of the "church's powers", or because Katrina's magic seal? Because if it's the latter, she didn't even write it when the horseman came (she was in the process of going inside the church), and he was still unable to enter.

Horseman is scared of going to the holy ground of the church.

The bright red blood is classic Hammer horror, of the kind of movies Christopher Lee made many of in the 70s that this film resembles a high-budget version of in its production values, with its atmosphere and elaborate sets. Ian McDiarmid had just finished acting opposite bluescreens in The Phantom Menace and said this film was a welcome change.

He took out the emperor

One of the few times in movies where I find it understandable that the woman comically faints. She did, after all, just see her dad get skewered and decapitated.

Man even without a head Christopher Walken is still entertaining.

it was kind of stupid for the dude to get in front of the window where he should've known it would make it easier for the horseman to get him ......they all seemed to forget that the horesman was a mercenary who knew how to adapt on the battlefield
