@@ZyklonBeast12 I have no use for them either. Because they have no nutritional value. But they do have a different structure and avocado oil is one of the few comestible oils not derived from a seed. Oil from an avocado is produced by pressing the pulp surrounding the pit. Olive oil is not a seed oil either. It's actually a fruit oil derived from the fruit of the olive tree, specifically the flesh and pulp of the fruit.

When eating out, ensuring you have you're steak cooked correctly is easier than most people assume. When ordering just tell the waiter that you have an allergy, if he does not ask and explain that no vegetable oils can be used in the process of cooking, no garlic,etc, just a plain seared rare steak or two. The restaurant will not want an allergic reaction taking place, due to their cooking practices and the steak will come out juicy with no oils, as if you had cooked it yourself.

I have to eat pork and chicken to mix things up partly for the fact that beef is so expensive and it's hard to be on beef 100% of the time. I also like to eat chicken livers and hearts. Unfortunately I am 46 and I've only ever had retail jobs. I just don't make a lot of money, so I have to eat less expensive foods sometimes. I do like to eat steak sometimes though and I eat a lot of tube hamburger. I do notice that if i eat chicken (thighs or drumsticks) I have to eat more of it than beef to be satiated.

If you can save up about $100 look for a small sized meat grinder. Depending on where you are you can buy a bulk top sirloin rump (around 10 lbs) and grind it yourself. Ziploc bag portions and freeze. It's so much cheaper and you can control the fat amount by asking the butcher for the fat they throw out. It's a bit of extra work buy I noticed a change in the tube ground beef and started grinding it for my husband.

Every thing in there intelligence is based on nutrition for that egg. As a free range chicken farmer I see. They will walk past a worm and eat clover and the next bird will gladly take that worm. Thank you for the interview. Almost certainly, the arthritic symptoms you had were not from butter but from oxalate dumping and calcium oxalate crystals building up in your joints and tissues. Also, consider reworking the language about “liquid” fats (to be more type specific) as most all fat will become liquid quickly once in the gut. I always thought the S and B Gal was missing something when she’d say to not melt butter on steak but to eat it cold. Butter and most all solid fats will liquify, often before they even get to the stomach. Thanks
@Cattitude369
@Cattitude369 5 месяцев назад
I definitely notice a difference between "eating" fats already in a liquid state vs eating solid fat. I think when it's already liquid, it just shoots straight through (picture spilling a bottle of oil). Solid fat has to go through melting. I think that is why so many ppl get the runs when they ingest liquid fats, me included. Never had that issue when I eat butter, suet, or rendered fat that has resolidified.

Great video, very knowledgable. I've cornivore for a quite a number of years now. The results on my health has been nothing less than spectacular. This being said I did have issues and got to learn, with very little resources out there, how to manage some of the small issues (cramps and histamines). I quickly learn, on my part that I had to go all beef. I did not understand the reason chicken and pork wasn't working for me so I just kept it simple and rejected them from my diet. I think it's much harder for women do deal with the "non-veriety" issues and so it makes it hard, in a couple to deal with this lifstyle for someone who used to live (my wife) going out for dinner, making dinner, inviting ppl making special treats and so on and so forth. In the end, my conclusion is simple, the reason Carnivore (it was called zero-carb when I started) is not sexy in the mainstream and meat is still demonized: Once a person is healthy: you realize that the health industry strives only when they cater to people with health problems.... If you get what I am saying.

I really find it problematic to understand grams... I want to know.. how many teaspoons of salt?... how many cups of suet?... how much meat with how much fat...why not show it?... I eat a ribeye steak and two or three tablespoons of butter... is that a good ratio? I put a generous amount of salt on everything. I take magnesium and potassium and Redman's real salt... is that good? I don't lose any weight at all none... I have only been on Carnivore for five and a half years... when will I be fat-adapted? As a person trying to live on a small Senior's pension, I can understand that people want to buy pork and chicken because they are a fraction of the cost of beef or lamb. Seafoods are just impossible to buy for people like me, just too expensive.

When I started carnivore (1/1/24) I was quite concerned about the histamines. For several years I had suffered terrible headaches in the middle of the night from high histamine foods and had learnt to be wary of aged meats and frozen fish/seafood. I would normally take ibuprofen or an antihistamine to ease the headache. About two weeks in I realised I hadn't been having the headaches and I bought up big on those foods. More than three months in now and I have only had one headache that I needed to take the ibuprofen for and one other small one that I didn't take anything for. I am so happy.

Rebekah Heishman seems like an absolute sweetheart. She is very knowledgeable, and I loved that she touched on the difference between monounsaturated fats in animals (cows, lamb, bison, etc.) versus polyunsaturated fats (chicken, pork). The simplicity is chicken and pork protein alone without their fats, is ok to up your protein, but beef, lamb and bison are both good for their protein AND their fats. This is extremely important to emphasize when going carnivore. Aside from seed oils being absolute gross, not all animal fats are created equal themselves. I only wish that their was more emphasis on fish. Wild Alaskan salmon is expensive, but whitefish like cod and pollack, are amazing protein sources. The only two plant fats I'll not ever do without, are olives and avocados. When I'm eating fish, I especially eat them with a side of avocado, so it ups the healthy fats.

I don‘t get how you can underestimate on this diet. I‘m on day 19 and heard about the phenomenon of eating loads in the beginning and then naturally reducing those messy masses. But at the moment it tastes so good and I eat loads and did not loose weight. But here is so much healing to do, since basically everything in my body is inflamed, so I guess that I have to wait until my body understands that vegan times are over and he does not have to stock up as long as he can. It‘s already getting better, but I slept a crazy lot the last weeks, guessing again this might be coming down from stress and trying to focus on healing. I can‘t wait for the part we’re I will have loads of energy, since I did not have that at least since puberty… Let‘s see :)

Another point (@47-minute mark)... many folks on a carnivore diet profess the affordability of buying their meats when on sale. Many, or most times, when meat is on sale, its because the packaged meat is approaching, or at, its "best buy" date. When a packaged meat is at its best buy date... its at its longest point of processing. Perhaps the better suggestion would be to buy the "freshest" meat possible. Yes, its a little more expensive... but what price do you put on your health ?

Digesting animal fats to get the greatest nutritional benefit is greatly augmented by using a combination of butter and VCO in cooking. A true carnivore by the way does not own a stove or live in a house. All humans are huge adaptors and while we may eat mostly or only animal products, we are not true carnivores. What stands out the most to me as a physician and nutritional professional is the lack of discussion about eating all parts of the animals we consume as does a true carnivore. Costco beef is not on the menu in nature. Source well, get variety, and if you vary from the animal path, do so with a keen eye and nose to what really does and doesn’t work for your body and remember that what works will change over time. Some of us can eat certain veggies and fruits in moderation with zero negative impact. Many of us can eat well sourced dairy and fatty and/or lean meats. Some of us do great on some shell fish and on and on. I personally can eat a few almonds with zero negative impact but I cannot eat beef without paying for it with aches and pains and nausea. Even when I don’t source from feedlots, beef is not in alignment with my body and never has been. Bison is a great go to for me as is goat cheese and milk. We are all very different. It is a challenge for a lot of those eating mostly meat to get electrolytes. I get a lot of this in bone broth, milk, 100% tangerine juice with ZERO negative impact. Getting electrolytes from a packet is not ideal for anyone but use it in a pinch until you can find your way. The bigger issues are grains must ferment to be utilized and we do not have a separate fermentation plant in our guts. This is why so many are turning completely away from all grains. Another major concern is not sourcing from ranches that treat animals without chemical assault and other traumas, we ultimately risk getting stealth diseases when we try to go cheap instead of putting impeccable sourcing at the top of our budgets. And, I disagree to a decree that it’s challenging to get enough fat, especially at the start. This need not be an issue at all. Eat fatty meats, butter, dairy if you can, and some VCO. Don’t be afraid of everything in nature that doesn’t have a tail, feathers, fins or shells. Speaking of which, fungi is in its own category and is of great benefit to many, as is honey. But shhhh don’t say it too loudly on these channels, you’ll be shunned into oblivion by the self righteous. If it doesn’t work for someone, don’t do it but for those of us who have ZERO issues with certain foods that are not “steak and eggs” proudly do what works for you regardless of those who don’t get it. My ❤is with you!

Oh, and that 2:1 is maybe correct only on fruitarian diet because you are under the effect of natural insulin resistance so you conserve the majority of your body sodium. I love Rebekah’s info but she’s incorrect re pork fat. It’s only 10% omega 6 PUFA and 50% monounsaturated fat (MUFA Omega 9) the remaining 40% is saturated fat. And that is for standard pork- not sure if that ratio changes for pastured pork that’s not being fed the standard feed. It also has amazing nutrients- particularly pastured pork is super high in vitamin D. Pork is also one of the best sources of Thiamine or Vitamin B1 which is one of the most common deficiencies and other B vitamins that may not be so abundant in ruminant meats. I think pork has been given a bad rap and then incorrect information is commonly regurgitated without actually looking into whether it’s true. I was guilty of this as well for many years.

@@rebekahheishman-tailoredke8939thanks. Pastured pork is always going to be the best option. The factory farming of all animals is the problem, and the feed (such as feeding candy and chocolate to cattle...) makes it hard to know for sure what the macros of the animals raised in these conditions truly are - unless you have them tested. Or just see how your body responds which is probably the best way I guess.
