Alright, first "Broken Machine" and now this? WHY SO MANY BANGERS POPPING OUT IN MY RECOMMENDED HOLY. Honestly this song is so good, even tho im pretty sure we all think that, the lyrics are pretty catchy and the song itself is very well made. The art is well done too and it makes me watch the full video if i ever click on it because of both the art and the song. I've rewatched it a bunch of times now but it's just so good i can't get tired of it, i hope such content about OneShot keeps coming because it makes me real happy to know despite it being underrated, it still gets a lot of sick things

I love how when it goes silent after the first few verses, you can actually time it to the later lines with “oh good messiah”

oh yeah it's time for an essay. I'll start with the good stuff because there's a LOT of good stuff. -The soundfont for the music is phenomenal. The pixelated synthesized sound works great as it's reminiscent of the games of which One Shot's graphics come from. -The vocals alternated between the synth vocals (early in verse) and the more human sounding vocals (later in verse). The transition was so smooth I didn't even notice it the first time. I like that you used both because while the synth vocals are cool, they aren't great to listen to if you don't know the lyrics or are reading the subtitles. -From a purely lyrical perspective, the chorus is really good. I say purely lyrical because I think it was a little too cramped and long. But in terms of just looking at the lyrics they are really good. -The bridge. YOU FUCKIN NAILED THAT SHIT. ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. The purpose of the bridge is to connect the last verse into the chorus with a little extra emotion, and you did that BRILLIANTLY. I cannot say enough how hard it is to write a good bridge and you wrote a GREAT bridge. It was immediately different from the chorus and verses musically while still keeping the pace of the song and gradually slowing down. You get to really hear the acoustics giving the listener a more personal feeling as it builds into the last chorus. The lyrics are so good because they're (mostly) story-accurate, they're deep in their meaning, and they convey the intent of the character they come from. I could go on for hours about everything great about this bridge but I digress. -The music didn't completely cover the vocals and visa-versa. This seems like a small thing, but it's so important that you can actually hear both parts. An instrumental would be so cool and it would really help me because I really want to make sheet music for this. -The art is just so good. I don't have any analytical takes on the art because I don't draw, but it's just so good. The not so good stuff. It's not stuff that I inherently hate about the song, it's just a few nitpicks that I would change -The chorus feels very cramped. It felt like you had a whole song worth of chorus that you had to squeeze into a few lines. Especially after the bridge there is no pause. The chorus is good, but it's hard to remember the whole thing which is the point of a chorus. It's a few lines that repeat throughout the song that should be easy to recognize and memorize. -Some of the lyrics just felt like you made lyrics to sound cool while forgetting the fact that they don't make sense with the game it's based on. Now, I haven't played One Shot in a while. This could be my bad memory. Lyrics such as "cover yourself in dreams left all alone in bed" and "sometimes the broken screen shatters beneath the weight of its own dreams" feel misleading because they don't really talk about the narrative of One Shot as much as they just... sound cool and keep up the rhyme scheme. I might look into it further and edit this comment if I find out I was wrong. -The key change at the end. I don't like random key changes. You did more than a good enough job setting the tone with the bridge and the out of nowhere key change is kind of jarring. I wouldn't mind it as much if you had a break between the choruses to smoothly transition into a key change, but that would devalue the bridge so overall I just say leave it in the same key. I never know how to end comments like this so I'll just say 8/10 song and this is definitely going on my playlist :)

this might actually be one of the highest quality oneshot fan songs i've ever heard, i really like the song and the art is very good as well!

Absolutely love how the World Machine turns the "One shot is all it takes, for a life to end, for a light to break" line on its head. Love how you subtly altered the mode there to make it sound less desperate and determined, and instead morose and regretful.

God i love this song.

Between Choice of a God, Broken Machine and now this. OneShot fans are producing some crazy hits! Every song has a golden aspect to this. In this case it's the lyrics, very nicely done. The vocals on the other hand almost didn't hook me in. At the beginning it felt very... vocaloid-y. Until 1:39 blew me away. When you sang "Up in the sky" and hit that high note, something just resonated in me in the best way possible.

This is so good! I'm glad Oneshot is still getting attention, particularly in music. It's such a cool experience and its themes and feelings it brings have so much potential for this sort of thing. The imagery you chose for this is also so, so good.

Oneshot is one hell of a game, and this is one hell of a song

Can't unsee how in the walking animation loop, Niko's right leg never takes a step forward. Only the left leg moves in front of them because the loop is just a single step instead of both, making it look like their pelvis is spinning under their coat

This is definitely one of my favorite Oneshot fansongs ever and I absolutely adore it though if you can allow me to give a bit of criticism: The final drop doesn't feel too different apart from the key change but it doesn't emphasize the song enough. It sounds great but it doesn't have enough impact. I think doing something different to emphasize it being the climax like cutting off the instrumental for say a bar to highlight the vocals would definitely up the feeling for stuff like this. It would break up the otherwise steady pace of the song and throw people for a loop. All in all though, this is still incredibly solid and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
