Very unnecessary loss of life. The aviation industry has strict standards to avoid loss of life. Hearing this story violations include. 1) outdated whether information provided by the airport 2) Failure to adhere to industry standard visual minimums on approach. 3) Continued decent through minimums without establishing visual contact of the runway 4) poor airport management, why where runway lights off, slow fire response. 5) continuing to land against minimum weather guidelines for approach. Strong head winds and tail winds are perfect conditions for wind sheer. 6) the images of the plane on fire shows it had plenty of fuel to maintain a holding pattern or divert to alternate airport. 7) no aircraft can be deemed "stabilized" in the conditions described above, thus a go around or diversion made very early on in the approach. Very sad that even a non aviation guy like me can see all these violations by just listening to a 14 minute video about this crash.
I was just entering junior secoundry school then, the news came as a rude shook, i could only imagine what the families who lost their loved ones in the crash would be like, most especially the family that lost 3 of their children in a single event... may God continue to grant their souls enternal rest [23/10/2024]
