He's old, every year they wait to not trade him, the less value they will get in return. Getting a 23 year old 20+ point per game scorer, and a former first round pick going into his 2nd year who already went from super skinny to much better physically in 1 year is a great sign. Then they also get pick 18 and a future 1st, not a bad haul especially since teams like Boston and Brooklyn who also probably want him don't have someone to match Herro and have a worse pick this year
It’s amazing the heat got this far with Butler and Bam as their two leading scorers. Definitely need to bring in someone like Dame to be the number one scorer and with defensive pieces around him they should be fine
I've seen some throw away plays throughout the NBA Finals by Butler; so watch the tapes of all 5 games, and I'm sure you'll see Butler throwing away games like he had a huge wager in Vegas... That is why I hated they legalized sports betting.... The Nuggets would've won, I believe< regardless; but in a game 7... Butler was too obvious not playing, not gaurding, throwing away passes, and shooting rediculous shots...
Not to be rude, but if the Blazers deal Dame it will be for a hell of a lot more than Lowry, Herro and 3 FRP. They literally have a 2" shorter version of Herro in Ant the fans are ready to push out the door due to Ants poor defense. The only player the Blazers are likely to want would be Bam and I see Zero chance of the Heat dealing him. I can see Dame being dealt to Brooklyn or other teams far more easily,.
@@tj-23 Dame is a multiple time all Star and would be ranked way higher all time by now if his team didn't refuse to pair him up with an actual superstar
the ideal scenario for the Heat would be to not only trade for Dame, but after the Suns release Chris Paul, to sign CP3 for the veteran's minimum. CP3 could be a backup, playing 20 minutes per game, and in the playoffs he could be part of what Don Nelson used to call the "finishing lineup".
I think there's a universe where Dame goes to Miami, Kyrie goes to LA and Bradley Beal ends up in Dallas. Trailblazers would get something around Herro, Robinson/Lowry and picks and Wizards something around DLo, Beasley and Bamba with picks. All in one massive move that happens on trade night.
Unrealistic and impossible plan :Trade Tyler herro and more for Damian lillard :Put Bam at PF :Draft Derek Lively and start him at center :Sign Austin Reaves for SG LineUp PG: Damian Lillard SG: Austin Reaves SF: Jimmy Butler PF: Bam adebayo C: Derek Lively II
@@SportingLogically fair enough , I don’t see why Portland would want Tyler Herro in any circumstances when they might have to select scoot at 3 & already have simons & sharpe
Now that it is over, and I am happy for the Nuggets. Joker is a hell of a player and they have had some great players in their history and just never have been able to get there. They finally have. So I can be happy for them. But, knowing what is coming tomorrow or before the end of the week, when the NBA and Adam Silver announce the punishment for Ja Morant, I think is going to affect every team and how they approach this off season. Because I do think if Ja is done for an entire year, some teams might be trying to tank for a year to make moves with Memphis to get Ja + have a lottery pick in next year's draft. Because if Ja Morant is done for a year, I can't see Memphis wanting to hold onto him. I think they will want to wash their hands of the entire situation. As for Miami, I think like any team, they will have work to do if they want to get a title next season. No questions, it will be on Jimmy and Bam to get it done. But, yeah...they need someone else who could present an upgrade. Help them get better, especially on the interior. Because they have no interior offense. But I wouldn't be surprised if DeAndre Ayton or Bradley Beal or Zack Lavine ended up in Miami. Granted, I would not be sure that Miami would want Beal's contract. As a player he is good, but that contract is just terrible.
Bro as the Blazers, Herro is literally the worst possible person to get back for Dame. They really don’t need another guard at all, they already have Sharpe, Simons, and probably Scoot, why the hell would they ever trade for Herro? If they are trading dame, they’re doing it to get a good front court
Good luck with that Portland is not gonna get finessed out of this As a PdX fan there’s no one on Miami I see really worth it Even out if SA is involved it’s not even logical to see this happen. SA has to throw picks in as well and Miami getting devonte is a stupid reach
I’m not even a heat fan but would love to see Dame in a heat jersey. But here’s why it doesn’t happen 1. Unfortunately I just don’t see POR trading dame. He’s going to end up like AI and get traded or leave when it’s too late and he’s no longer in his prime 2. This would be a all in move for Pat Riley and if you’ve follow him he doesn’t make those type of moves. He’s similar to Danny Ainge where he isn’t quick to over pay players. With Dame contract can’t see Riley justifying that salary
I don't get why the Blazers should even consider this though. The 18th pick isn't anything eye opening, Jovic also had a terrible rookie season. 2028 FRP is great, but Portland will be looking for at least 3-4 picks with good potential. And Herro is...I don't know. I think they can get Beal for Herro. But he won't cut it for Lillard especially considering the other trade pieces are lacking too. Miami could get this trade done if they're looking to trade Bam, otherwise I don't see a way.
My opinion on who leaves. Kyle Duncan Victor Kevin Udonis (moves to a coaching role in the organization) What we need in return is an unselfish guard, and a big man to help Bam. Could we get that from Portland? Probably need to give up picks as well. But, my main thought is it’s now or never. Especially for Jimmy.
As a heat fan hoping for dame as well. But realistically, we’d have to give up alot more than that my g.. in addition to herro and first round picks’ ,deal would have to include robinson and/or gabe. No one is taking lowrys contract. Hell of a run and season, thank you miami heat. Congrats to the nuggets, best team ive seen in a while.
I do think Portland would end up with Duncan Robinson since he had a career revival in these playoffs and who doesn't want a young guy that can shooting 44% from 3, but if we do your scenario that would be the dream. With your trade make the spurs player we got the backup PG instead of resigning Gabe Vincent, resign Strus to be the backup SG behind Duncan as the starter, and we got a nice rotation. I do wonder what we will do with Haywood Highsmith he showed alot of potential but just doesnt seem likes theres enough minutes to go around for him as a 6'4 guy. My ideal bench rotation ignoring the previous moves would be Gabe Vincent at PG since hes more of a scoring PG than facilitating, Caleb and Haywood as the SG and SF doesn't really matter who plays what, then Kevin Love comes back to be starting PF, and need to sign someone as the backup PF, we got alot of different options this year just gotta do something
I love the attempt but there is no way in hell that Portland is trading their franchise player for Herro, Jovic, and two mid/late first round picks. Need to upgrade what Portland receives in a trade for Dame.
If I posted this trade in the Blazers subreddit there would be an absolute outrage. There's not much interest in Herro and they would suggest at least 3 picks, maybe 4.
I meeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaannn why isn’t anyone talking about a possible kat to heat possibility kat is a center and bam can definitely slide into the power foward slot
Lowry/Oladipo/Jovic/Highsmith(43.3Million) with Pick 18 for Bradley Beal(46.7Mil) & Tyler Herro/Duncan Robinson(45.1Mil) 2028 & 2030 1st for Damian Lillard(45.6Mil) when he is eligible to be traded for on July 9th Lillard/Vincent Beal/Strus Butler/Martin Crowder(FA)/Love Adebayo/Anybody better than Cody Zeller
Crazy people talking shit against heat when the heat weren’t even supposed to be in the finals. They beat all the best teams in the east and won a game against a Denver team that swept lebron. I still see it as a successful season for the Heat.
Coming from a Damian Lillard stan/Portland fan this trade actually makes sense dame is great but his value isnt as much as a kd trade so i think the heat could work something out especially if Dame WANTS to go there im pretty sure blazers would honor that
Thats what im thinking. Also heat ain't letting herro go for just anybody. It would be a dame type player. Herro name had been shoped for less and heat always said H no to all deals involving herro name. He was like bam and still is mostly unless talking dame probably. Respectfully if dame wants to win, heat are a realistic smart option.
What about the Heat signing a cheap rebounding center like Andre Drummond, working out a team friendly long term deal with Vincent, letting Strus go, drafting a physical, defensive forward and running it back?
The heat need to shed salary to get under the second tax apron, adding dame does the opposite unless they don’t play to use their exceptions or MLE, they technically can shave in other ways but their role players were the reason they got this far not their stars unloading all of them plus trading hero and picks for dame is daunting.
They will not trade all or alot. A good deal. If Dame wants to go to miami that's how the deal gets done. And it will cause heat less. Without dame making the push for miami the deal dont get Done, cause heat wouldn't give away it all just for dame.
Dame is older, yeah you want to contend now but you already are contending, the Heat aren’t far off in the East. They should flip Kyle and Duncan for length and athleticism. The pieces under Bam Jimmy and Tyler need to better compensate for their flaws. I think they should keep Gabe, not Max.
Still gonna be a year older next season and making stupid money for that level of production. He was definitely great in the playoffs, but I’d rather have CP3 on a minimum than Lowry.
I'm not sure Portland has the leverage to be picky in a Dame trade. With the way the new CBA is set up, building contenders around players that make as much as Dame does is going to be severely punishing. Then you have to also consider the length of his deal and his age. Other than Miami, I can't see another team that actually has the assets, need and desire to trade for Dame. The Pelicans could MAYBE but that would mean Portland taking back CJ. The Sixers could probably swing something around Maxey and Harris but they don't have any tradable firsts. The Suns could offer Ayton and Shamet but again, no tradable firsts. Boston could technically do it as well for something around Brown but I don't see why given the player's ages. So right now I think the only serious players are the Sixers and the Heat. If Portland and their fans don't like it, they can keep him.
Jesus poor Cody Zeller only made half mill this year and was used ALOT in the post season to help cover the bigs. Miami beat them all, except Jokic. Talk about value!
If I gotta move Herro for dame not sure I’m doing that. Herro is still ascending He damn near could be damn by next year but cheaper n younger I’d sniff around chi n see what they want for Zach. Maybe 2 1st Lowry (expiring contract reunite wit demar and played well in playoffs) Caleb Martin cheap contract great value and maybe a Duncan or jovic
No way the trailblazers accept just two firsts for Dame they can get way more. Dame for Herro, Caleb Martin, Jovic, and Haywood Highsmith plus three unprotected firsts and two pick swaps works much better for the Trail Blazers and fits perfectly cap wise.
Damian Lillard is going to be 33 years-old in a month. Every year Portland decides not to move him they get one step closer to his value falling off a cliff. They may have waiting too long already. That being said, I don't think a deal centered around Herro would be enough and even if it was, it doesn't solve their size issues. A true number one is the right idea though. Right now Jimmy Butler is Scottie Pippen without a Jordan.
You're kidding me right? You better. Put another All Star with that and 1st round draft picks... And call Kyle is at the end of his rope you gotta be kidding me . Tyler hero come on Heat. gotta do better than that. Dame is a superstar at the top of his game..
The Heat are not getting Dame. They would have to include Bam and the Heat isn't doing that. The Heat don't have the resources.they can only trade 2 first round picks. They don't have enough. Plus, there are teams that can give more value. VanVleet and Beal are more realistic...
This trade is hilarious literally 0% chance of this happening. I think if he does go to Miami, it would be a 3 team deal, because the Blazers don’t need Herro! They have Simons, Sheadon, Scoot most likely if trade Damian and the Hornets take Brandon Miller. They don’t need more gaurds who can’t play defense!!!!!! Simons and Herro would be absolutely horrendous defensively!!!!!!!!
That’s like the worst value Dame trade ever… this is a franchise player lmao Bro said “given dames age and his salary” 😭 😭. We know the typa talent Dame is. He’s the best he’s ever been right now so what’s the reason to assume that he’s gonna slow down right NOW? Just to fulfill some fantastic narrative about being done at 35? It doesn’t make sense. We just witnessed Chris Paul play at a stellar level until like 36-37, and Dame is much more well conditioned and definitely better than Chris Paul at 32.
You forgot that the reason they lost is that the Nuggets always beats them in the paint. Adding Dame wont be sufficient for them winning a title next season. They need a big who atleast can guard and get Bam in the 4 position.
That was either the most corrupt officiated game I've ever seen or the most incompetent officiated game I've ever seen. Somebody please convince me they were just incompetent .... otherwise I'm through with the NBA.
Heat and warriors swap offensive guys. Poole for Herro Miami gets a play creator and shot maker Warriors get a shooter who they can move off screens and knock down corner 3s and ease the locker room tension
