I still have the RF oscillator, which I built around 1979/1980 time frame. The unit worked well for an electronic hobbyist like myself. I never bought the power supply that goes with these units.

Any suggestions on a replacement meter for the null? Mine has failed.

Look on eBay or Amazon for a small 200 uA (microamp) panel meter that is a suitable size to fit in the case.

I am looking at this unit now that my late father left behind as he passed. What exactly are these used for? Unfortunately I think I will need to dispose of this unit

Can you test it without an oscilloscope?

Yes. The original kit could be tested and aligned with a DC and AC voltmeter, and a frequency counter or a radio.
