Of all the BOA finalist bands, Hebron is the most excellent in wind music performance. Every time there is a run, you can hear it clearly. The mellophone section knows how to have a presence at its featured moments and the low brass supports the ensemble sound wonderfully well. The winds really do sound amazing and put out a lot of volume while not sacrificing sound quality. Astounding that these high schoolers are playing with such good technique and producing a mature and full sound. Also, the soloists legitamately sound good on their own.
Yep several of the students are all State brass players or perform at that level. Basically just because you're all state at Hebron doesn't mean you are 1st chair. 😂
This was by far my wife and I's second favourite band at BOA this year (after our son's of course who finished 8th). Great show and a huge clear sound! be proud of your staff and students.
I was there at BOA (I was one of the performing bands) and I remember that the echo was horrible and even wit that these people played absolutely amazing and it's just an amazing show all around. I also remember seeing them at Duncanville and there show was also amazing there where they got 1st place overall.
Agree with Steven, Flower Mound has Hebron on visual, but not musically. Besides FM, Marcus, and Hebron are outstanding. Splitting hairs here for ratings. So no lol needed here, FM is not untouchable. That was proven last year.
@@stevendratler9893 well I beg to differ but I guess its really what you look for in a band. But my no means am I calling Hebron bad... Hebron is one of the best bands I've ever heard. They are just plain outstanding
Well done... I see things here that you would expect to see at the college level or at a DCI competition. the music presentation is well structured for the instrumental voices and the visual elements are very good also, especially with your line movements. most pleasing,
Simply amazing. Don't know where to begin. Those kids have some chops on them. Clean everywhere...my only complaint...well...it's not a complaint, seeing how I like to listen to my dci and band music at full volume no matter what, I would have liked to hear a bit more dynamics...think how much more powerful their sound would be if they were softer before the big hits.
Our pre-show was our school's Alma mater, we thought it was a different kind of approach and into to the show since we originally planned to not have a pre-show.
The execution of all of this music was tremendous but I wish it had more emotional depth I guess.. does anyone see what I mean or know what I'm missing out of it?
Jackson Buckner yea I know what you mean. The less emotional pieces sound like they are just playing notes loud and marching like it doesn’t have a story. I like performances that have a story behind them
I don’t know not my favorite show overall there are places where some of the sections don’t seem to be very in control with their sounds. I think just having a band this big really starts to distort the sound a lot
