This is a universe dominated by wars between force users, with non-force users generally caught in the middle. Of course that's depressing, especially if you're not a force user.

I can actually see it, some teen getting lucky and finding some run down, barely operable gozanti or soemthing, and ideals, get a job running some cargo through a blockade. Cut to some worn older man in the shadows, talking about taking advantage of this kid and his ship is either gonna make a nice side profit, or distract the lockal sec force enough for them to run their own job. as the season or movie progresses, these plots converge, then bam, realize it is two different plots, the kid and old man from the beginning are same person their ideals now largely worn away by years of a hard life.

@@bikeguyirl4443 hi I what I meant to state is the idea of living in a spaceship in the Star Wars universe would probably be the equivalent to living on a boat in our world. Space is cold and you need to pay for fuel and maintenance similar to a boat and living out in the ocean. My main point is that living in a spaceship is not a solution to living in the slums of Star Wars. This is like telling people in our world who live in slums to buy boats and live in the ocean boats are expensive to live in and are not as safe as we think.

If the bathroom, and food processor worked, and the bed was dry and warm. This sounds better than any slum. Even if this area had free wifi. And unlimited internet access. So it is easy to understand how in the S.W. univer so much criminal organization's exzist. Why corrupt government. Makes people hungering for what ever. Laws sound like joke's. And only serve the rich, or powerfule. Just like the real world.

Eventually the Empire takes over just about everywhere, so as an ordinary citizen, you'd be screwed either way. Your only hope would be to keep your head down and try not to be noticed by whoever was in power.

@@macnut68 So you either get in-slaved by Separatists, forced to relocate to a terrible refugee camp in the Republic, or you get lucky enough to get a good refugee camp but then the Empire takes over and ruins your life anyways. Basically, everyone would be screwed no matter what anyone did.

@@zexalbrony4799 Honestly at this point if was being forced to relocate. I would Say take me to Dathomire or flucia at this point. Because If iam not dead already then I can i can live in almost any conditions. Because Lets face if you can survive the toxic jungles of Felucia and not get mauled to death by a hungry acklay . Or Rampaging Rancor's both on felucia and Dathomire.but Dathomire is the native planet to Rancor's. So expecting those beasts stomping around in herds or large groups. And if some how you manage survive the Wrath of the Rancors. Then well your gonna need reason for the night sister 's to not murder you or command any of their pet rancors to kill you. If you can survive those deadly planets. You might be able to handle any old slum or rough neighbourhood in the Star Wars universe. But I mostly to chose such a path to find a quick and horrific death knowing I don't have be someones slave labour.

People always say they would want to live in the star wars galaxy, and it'd be cool sure, but I don't know if I would want to end up in any slums like those

Nam Nugooyen that’s something you never really take into account with Star Wars, no one really lives happily, and almost always has tragedy surround them.

Corrupt politicians, evil corporations, all the wars that happened there are in a way similar to the ones that ocurred here in our history, a religious group orquestrating everything from wars to economic criseses in the shadows, benefiting from the wars. How's that not true?

@@bradmorales4002 Allegory - a writing technique that usually means "this is explicitly a reference, parallel, or commentary on said subject". Star Wars since the beginning has used inspiration, not allegory. For example, the Empire is not supposed to be the Nazis. Sure, there are elements of them in the Empire. But so is there also elements of the Romans (military structure), the Stasi (ISB and general attitude), and Imperial Britain (accents and the "nobility" hierarch) - pretty much all of the negative aspects of humanity put together to just be the Bad Guy to our Heroes. Star Wars may have political elements, but it is not political first and foremost; it's a fun story about space magic, underdogs, and the hero's journey.
