Not at all. Start with lots of flexibility training, then basics, like strech kick , five stance form (Wubuquan). Careful with jumps, strengthen ancles and knees, and start with simple jumping exercises. Twists and fancy stuff can be added later on.

I have read that Wushu is just an all encompassing term for martial arts. The forms version is shown here. Sanda is another type of Wushu competition which is full contact. There are many different styles of martial arts in that large country, but the government has tried to standardize them.

@@zhizhaochang8529 why are u calling names? That kind of attitude is exactly why wushu can’t get practical. We MMA guys never look down on any pressure tested martial arts. But u guys need to get your goals straight lol.
Wushu is Martial Arts. They just focus on performing with style more than combat, whereas Sanda is part of Wushu and its focus in combat similar to MMA. Learning to perform all fancy moves and routines \ taolu \ kata is great but to use them in actual combat requires a lot of training and sparring with others. Why there is a big difference with MMA fighters and normal Karate\ Wushu or other types of martial arts? it is because MMA focuses on real fighting.
