I'm a huge fan of AFC West & AFC South. I have to admit the Chiefs are very resilient team. They know how to win at the end. Other three teams got to outsmart, be more resilient and consistent than them to take the divisional title. I love the Texans and hope they get even better with CJ Stroud this year to retain No. 1 in the division. The Colts are a good team but Anthony Richardson seems a bit radical. I hope he becomes wiser and more cautious when he uses his body on the field. Longevity is the key in the NFL. I want to see him on the field for a LONG time. BTW, there is a Shocker every year. I think the Broncos or the Falcons can be the one as the Texans was last year.
I think Shane is a great offensive mind and will get AR right. And I agree, there is always a random team or two. I think the Broncos and Falcons are great bets for that!
Not kicking field goals cost the lions. And putting young players in incredibly high pressure situations sets them up to fail. If Andy Reid kicks field goals with Mahomes it’s probably a good idea.
@@JWLSports the Chiefs have a great kicker. The Lions don’t. The Lions were perfect in the playoffs converting on 4th down up until Reynolds, who is almost 30, dropped that ball. Anyone who says it was coaching, hasn’t been watching the Lions.
@@RMDole19 the lions can be overly aggressive to their detriment. It’s literally cost them games including the nfc championship. Not saying it was only coaching but they were some questionable decisions
@@irishpanic Badgely is 61% for his career kicking field goals 40 yards or greater outside. The Lions were 86% on 4th and 3 or less in 2023. 61% vs 86%. Going for it was the right call.
Ii think people underestimate the impact of Mike Macdonald and some core defensive players having left the Ravens. I don't think they'll be as good as last year.
The Cardinals better than my Seahawks???? No. Not gonna happen. Seattle is gonna be a lot tougher this year and surprise everyone. With all the changes Mike Macdonald has implemented, this defense is gonna be tight! Not to mention the multitude of offensive weapons that will flourish under Ryan Grubb's new playbook, and great draft picks...just you see...!
Did I copy him right? The Bengals D isn’t good? Thats what carried them to a winning season without Burrow. They went 9-8. Burrow was hurt the first 4 games. He was healthy for like 6 games this year and they ROLLED. They have an elite secondary.
They had one of the worst ranked defenses in the nfl last season. They gave up the second most yards second to only the commanders. They were bottom 5 of the league for passing defense and bottom 6 for rushing defense. Points allowed (21st) and DVOA (23rd)
Packer fan here. Aaron Rodgers was down right awful his last year in GB. He’s never took to coaching. Always done his own thing. He likes Hackett because he doesn’t hold him accountable. The Jets have disaster written all over them even if they keep Rodgers healthy..
@@JWLSports and remember Patrick Mahomes was injured with a high ankle sprain trailing late in the 4th quarter of the SB to Philadelphia. He found away to get it done. Meanwhile in week 18 at home with the playoffs on the line Aaron Rodgers was just awful against Detroit. The year before the Lions we’re actually good. Guys like Mahomes and Tom Brady more often than not find away to get it done. Aaron Rodgers you always have to make excuses for. Rodgers is more Drew Brees than Brady or Mahomes. You give Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes the likes of Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, David Bahktari and an average defense and they win you at least one SB. Aaron Rodgers gives you pretty stats and that’s about it.
@@Joes35they lost 2 players that aint play last year in majority and a safety who is not in his prime( replaced with a 2x SB winning safety and a rookie). Curtis Samuel is better than Gabe Davis.
Well how do you feel about obj? I think the dolphins will be essentially the same team as last year. I just don’t see how they beat the chiefs, ravens, etc. They need something more substantial. Which is frustrating because I love Tua as a person. I’ll be talking about that on Sunday with my Pat Bev video.
@@JWLSports tua could get us all the way but we need a historic defense to do it. I like the obj signing because doesn’t it just feel like he belongs there ? Like just what we know about him, that’s a Miami guy, he’ll be good wr3/4, but all in all it’s really a locker room signing
If you look back there haven't been many QBs who have had stretches as good as Jordan love did and then sucked the rest of their career. There are far more lines of evidence that suggest Jordan will continue where he left off than there are that suggests he's gunna suck
That's not really true. The NFL is filled with QBs who have balled out for a season or two only to come back down to earth, Nick Foles, Derek Carr, Carson Wentz, etc.
Just sayin, I like yiur thoughts, if you could adapt the silent pause verses the take a breath invouluntary um/ah/ahm/so/basically/YOU KNOW...it is so painful to hear a speaker dilute their intelligence with involuntary audible to "pause words" ..(
How did the Chargers go from worst to second in the AFC West? They hired a coach who’s never won a Super Bowl and drafted an offensive lineman. They lost their two best receivers, and their best running back. Herbert is ok, but he hasn’t done anything. The Broncos were terrible and they swept the Chargers last year. They didn’t almost beat them twice, they beat them twice last season and for the 3rd time in a row. The Harbaugh derangement syndrome is real.
Texans had the 6th easiest schedule last year. That means only 5 teams had an easier schedule. Jaguars spent the off-season getting worse. They traded for Mac Jones. His stats on paper are the same as Lawrence. Lawrence hasn't completed a full season yet. Colts could be good if their quarterback stays healthy. I have my doubts and honesty they are the same team as last year but they have worse backup quarterback for when Richardson gets hurt. The Titans I could argue made the most moves but also made some really good moves. Not sure about the julian lucus comment? The titans have a strong wide receiver room. Upgraded offensive line with arguably the best offensive line coache. Three very talented corners. Sneed gave up zero touchdowns last year and Roger McCreary is on the rise. I believe Levis will be a top quarterback this year. Everyone had him in the first round saying he was top five in the draft. Then when he fell out of the first round everyone just dimisses him like he is bust. I guess because he plays for the titans no one watches so they just dog him because it's eaier.
CJ is getting the same hype as Trevor Lawrence, and we see where Lawrence sits now. As previously stated, Jaguars won the afc south.they were hyped all off-season. Started strong and collapsed halfway through the year. Texans will probably do the same with the harder schedule. Maybe not? I don't know. But what I do know is last season, the texans played the ravens and were beat like a drum.34-10 in the divisional round. 25-9 regular season. Texans are hyped to compete with the chiefs, but they can't even beat the ravens? So, like I said overhyped
Collin is high AF if he thinks the Commanders are leapfrogging the Cowboys in year one of their rebuild. Cowboys won’t be as good but they’ll likely be the 6th or 7th seed
If Dak goes down the cowboys are absolutely screwed. What do they have on offense besides Ceedee? I have the same standings this season. The commanders will be this years Texans
@@JWLSports Baker proved his critics wrong last year, surprised that some still exist. With Sean McVay's guidance, Baker Mayfield continued to grow, and it showed what can happen when you invest in a young quarterback who improves every day.
I think Miami has to do some big time signs in the OS now to fix their O Line. The amount of neglect the Dolphins Office does towards the O Line is boarder-line criminal in the NFL. Tua had on average 1 second less time to throw that the average team did. 1 second to throw makes a world of difference for their team. If Miami can get a team that can pass protect, Dolphins win the Division with ease. We talking 1-2 losses for Miami if they just get an average line for pass protection.
You are bitter with the Buccaneers blowing out the Eagles. There aren’t many QBs who can win a playoff game with the 31st run game. Are there any ever?? There defense was also ranked 28th in yards allowed but where solid in red zone ranked 8th. Jalen Hurts couldn’t have done it with the 29th overall offensive line that got close to 20 by the end of the season out of willpower of Baker playing hurt and forcing them to play above their ability. I was afraid of the Falcons running away with the division until the QB controversy and now the Buccaneers have it in the bag again as Kirk has been called out for being “kinda sensitive” by some previous players. I don’t think Kirk is going to play as well as he would have as he folds anytime there is a prime time game and any competition coming after his job. Baker is the complete opposite of that, he thrives and does better when he’s being counted out or if there is competition for his job. So thank you media for falling into this trap. Baker got some nice pieces to strengthen the line and an OC who knows how to run the ball. Even if they have a mid oline and running game they are going to be a much better team. Mike and Baker carries the Buccaneers on their back last year which was always constant criticism of Baker in Cleveland who just so happened to be ranked 3rd last year in 3rd down conversions behind two QBs who have legs. It’s going to be the Lions and the Buccaneers again fighting to see who plays the 49ers but this time they are playing the Buccaneers at home.
Lol I'm not even remotely bitter. As I never expected the Eagles to win while Hurts had a messed up knee, dislocated finger, and AJ Brown. And the Bucs aren't even making the playoffs next season.
Yes we can. You guys don't ever know what you're saying. Lazy reporting and listening to an idiot like Herd. Do your own thing and reporting. There's already a Colin that's an asshole you don't need to follow
I love the Bills. And no, I don’t have faith that they improved enough to actually be Super Bowl worthy. And let’s be serious here. They won the division that has a failing patriots, failing jets, and until the last year a failing dolphins team. Fired coaches and a ring of endless qbs.
I mean if you think KC will just run that division for the next 5 years I don't know what to tell you. Herbert and Harbaugh are going to be elite together. And denver will get settled as well.
Take on the raiders is just bad they went pretty well with 4th round rookie qb the defense ended top 9 after the new hc took over the broncos haven't beaten the raiders in like almost 6 years and they had a better qb Wilson is better than Nix but to just discredit what they've done defensively and literally upgraded their defense is just a nonsense take
Plus upgraded pieces for their o line and their offensive weapons but just because they don't have a top name qb or top rookie always people consider them last place
The rest of the league got better too raiders will never ever get any respect until they get the qb and what's so good about just being good enough to win 8 games tops...the NFL wants super stars in the playoffs for qbs it sells more tickets thats why minshew nor o connell made the playoffs because cj strout took the spot and theirs only 7 spots in the playoffs.
@@JWLSportsi appreciate the commentary I just thought the afc west take was a little questionable. There is no shit KC loses that division. Top 3 defense plus got better on offense
I had almost completely agreed with Colin until he got to the NFC south and west. I think that Tampa will still win the division. I just don’t believe in the Falcons. Also, Carolina is still the worst team in the league so they will be in last. As far as the west goes, you can’t talk about the 49ers injuries without talking about the Rams injuries. If Stafford goes down the Rams are screwed. My hot take is that the Rams finish in last again in the west and only the 49ers make the playoffs from that division
@@JWLSports the falcons always find a way to blow it and the bucs have won the division 3 years in a row. I’m not convinced it will change until proven otherwise
