"The Hero In Us All": now that I think about it, that idea was HUGE part of what 80s entertainment was all about, and it's a big part of what I miss about my childhood. Needless to say, I came here just for the title. 👍
Completely agree - a lot of movies/ media had things happening to regular people - crazy stuff yes, but it was happening to ordinary people - felt like we all had opportunities to be Heros. Not even an 80s kid but grew up on those movies - Flight of the Navigator, the Last Starfighter, Tron, Die Hard, TopGun - :)
just before gym time.... golden era of BB :) Dorian, Lee Haney, Labrada, Priest....action heroes.. Tom Cruise flying jet, Arnie vs everyone, Stallone aka. Rocky, Van Damme revenging his brother.... what a great era to live in !!!!!! music is lit !!!!!
oh my god, I just got goosebumps reading your comment. 100% spot on. Gaspari and Labrada trying hard to dethrone the champ. True action heroes. Some Great front covers of Flex & MnF with Sly, Dolph, Cory Everson, Arnie........and as for the movies.....heck let's not even go there. lol
Who else wants to time travel back to the 80s and bring these songs with them to start a never ending retrowave scene that would still be popular till this day?
That would be dope. This time, I would make sure to purchase one of those 1980’s Porsche cars from Miami vice, and ride down the strip with neon lights glowing
"The Running Man" is an awesome movie, of which this image is taken from. Though the film is set in the future, its the most 80s looking film you'll see! Excellent stuff, if by chance you've not seen it. Often overlooked a bit, because it came out the same timeline as the timeless Predator.👍👍
This is, by far, the best 80's retrowave mix I've heard. Most mixes forget the insane, heavy metal-glam guitar shredulousness of the 80's, which really rounds everything out. Solid work, folks.
As a lover of everything 80's I gotta say you guys knocked it out of the park with this one! Most of these retrowave songs don't really catch that 80's feeling but you guys did it here!
"This is television, that's all it is. It has nothing to do with people, it's to do with ratings! For fifty years, we've told them what to eat, what to drink, what to wear... for Christ's sake, Ben, don't you understand? Americans love television. They wean their kids on it. Listen. They love game shows, they love wrestling, they love sports and violence. So what do we do? We give 'em *what they want*!" Gosh, this movie was so much ahead of it's time!
+Private Account - Not sure why you mention They Live! and Remote Control, which both came out a year *after* The Running Man (which itself came 5 years after the book) Also don't know why you're being such a pointlessly pompous prick and inventing an argument. Just because a film is considered "ahead of it's time", that doesn't negate all other films which predict similar futures, or imply it was the first (or the best) to do so. Everyone knows using TV & other media as populace control has been an artistic theme and *absolute reality* since they were invented, so the fact there were supposedly "more interesting" movies that "touched on" this age-old concept a year later is meaningless. Also, you're the only one trying to use other people's movies to make yourself seem superior - The OP sounds like he just really enjoyed the film.
Running Man - set in 2019. A corrupt, authoritarian government tries to keep the population pacified & distracted against a backdrop of massive wealth inequality. Naah - it will never happen
I'm impressed about how FAZZIO is an amazing composer but them fantastic works are not on Spotify! I'm listening to their songs here for the first time and it's surely one of the best composers I've ever seen!
Have to admit. This whole playlist is great but 'DJ Ten - Zarnold Choppanegger' legit blew me. Just feels like your in a sci fi 1980s Arnold Schwarzenegger movie like total recall.
