I recently listened to a lecture that Gail gave. I had an Ah-hah moment when I realized why my stories didn't fit in the "Hero's Journey" I bought the audio, the e-book, and just yesterday received the workbook for the Heroine's journey. So glad to get a chance to hear her again. As always, listening to you, Joanne makes me smile. I love the joyous attitude that your voice conveys. Also, teaching this 3/4 century puppy new tricks. Considering I follow you on Patreon, I can't believe I missed this last month. I have been suffering from starting a website and pen name because I write over several genres. I followed the link here to Gail's site and found her Carousel of books, with tags as to genres. What a fantastic idea! So happy you young 'uns are out there to help us 'blind old bats' find our way.

This reminds me of the note at the beginning of the most recent entry in the "A Pattern of Shadow and Light" series, which does bring up the other side of the benefit of creating so many characters that people fall in love with. The author was lamenting the fact that while it does create more content, as more and more books were added to the same plot, it also created a sprawl where it became so difficult to give each of those characters the focus that she felt that they deserve to the point where she had to make a rule of "No new characters" for it.

Most of the MCU films must be a heroine's journey because they all work as a team. And Frodo with Sam, the other Hobbits, the elves, dwarves, etc? And The Lego Movie

It sounds like writing and publishing the book was a heroine's journey.
