Very well put together video, thanks for doing this! We already have a new version that is completely redesigned that should blow these both out of the water in terms of design. We also tightened up the fitting of the frame and inner barrel, so that will be perfected going forward as well. I look forward to a part 2 comparison with the updated design when it is released!

I was actually really excited when your initial unit came out, so I was somewhat disappointed when i found the inner barrel fitment to be less than ideal. It's awesome to see that your company really values customer feedback and takes action about it. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for the redesign! Is there any rough ETA for this?
@@NonoCatNZ rough ETA is September! I haven't found that inner barrel looseness, but I will make sure our factory tightens that up. It could also be the screws loosening, I highly recommend to loctite them. Your Teflon tape trick is a great work around! Thanks!
@@la.airsoft Thank You. Can't wait. I can confirm that the screws are as tight as they can be and Loctite was applied. There is a prominent gap at timestamp 4:22 and after the teflon, there is absolutely no gap on the entire unit at 6:15. Maybe I got a "lucky" one? 🤭
Thank you for doing this video. I didn't want to do a video comparison because I got sent the nexxspeed for free and loved it, but paid for the lacapa and had issues; it didn't seem fair or that viewers would believe me. It is intriguing to me that your lacapa chamber is super loose on all the frames, I have 3 lacapa chambers and all 3 are so tight they sit crooked and don't go on all the way; I had to file off parts of the lacapa to fit on my frames. It's crazy that your fitment issues are the opposite of mine.
Thank you for the fantastic VS video. I've tried all sorts of Hop units, and found the NexxSpeed one to give me the best fitment and accuracy for my NOVA and other high end custom builts.
Nicely detailed video. I have the LA Capa unit with a Nine Ball 6.03 7 in barrel and found it to be an improvement over the AM brass unit I replaced. I did not experience any fitment issues, I did use the grub screw as intended and o-rings on the inner barrel to lock it into the outer barrel. With that set up I did find it very accurate.
That's good to hear. May be i received a lemon? There are, unfortunately, too many different aftermarket parts and factors out there, so I guess the best way to find out is to try it yourself.
@@NonoCatNZ tolerance issues are the bane of the airsoft industry. There standards are too loosely held to and it makes fitment of various parts challenging. I have experienced many different fitment issues even among the most esteemed manufacturers. As an Engineer we call it Tolerance Stacking... sometime the variance in tolerance can stack up to the point that it negatively effects the final product and this is just a product of lot of different manufacturers holding to different manufacturing requirements. In the end this is airsoft and you get what you pay for. If you want it to be perfect it will cost thousands... 😃
@@leonxmontana4258 for sure, most inner barrels are very tight. Between screwing it together, our tolerance, and there's, I always recommend a bit of Teflon tape if needed!
I have a nexxspeed in my hi capa. Paired with a maple leaf autobot bucking. I was able to get it tuned to properly hop 0.2g bb's after a bit of adjusting. a bit of blue loctite on the adjustment grub screws made for a very nice and reliable fit.

nice review😊. very detailed. I'm about to release my video about Nexxspeed and we have the same findings. I'm thinking to replace the tensioner/patch with a smaller one. have you tried it? in Practical shooting .3 bbs above is overkill 😅 too slow
The patch slowly compresses over time. The initial hop on the nexx was more significant but actually lessened during the video. My personal recommendation is to set it on max hop and let it compress itself. :) As with using 0.40gs, it's to show it can be done, and they'd definitely be able to hop 0.50g as well. 👍 That just leaves a wider option to whatever the user would like to run. 👌
@@NonoCatNZ when compressed you manage to make to shoot .25 flat? But thats good to hear hehe. I already change my tensioner with hard rubber sheet. works perfectly at .2 to .3 anyway thank you for the feedback
Now compare it against Guarder lol! (Guarder has just been a rediculously cost effective and accurate work horse in my hicapas). Nexxspeed is definitely gonna get a try from me in the near future.
Was thinking about doing this same video myself, I think there are some cool TDC options coming out in 2023. Any thoughts on the Laylax TDC outer barrel?
definately going for the brass Nexxspeed Unit in combination with a PDI 7 inch barrel + Stock TM rubber and .30 BBs in my Gunsmith Bros Razorcat Open Build (AIPSC build) thank for this in debth review
I have a Nexspeed in 2 of my capas, effortlessly overhopping .32bbs. If you're open to some suggestions, i recommend trying that NexxSpeed hop with a NineBall barrel and a Modify X-Range bucking. I was easily hitting 150ft+ with that combination in my 4.3 ICS Challenger pistol!!
... Thanks for the suggestion but I am a bit confused. Maybe you should watch the video or have a look at the timestamps - Accuracy Test at 35 Meters with 0.40g BBs at 26:01 - I had no issue hopping 0.40g Bbs and even heavier.
@NonoCatNZ yeah sorry! I was at work when I watched the first half and made the comment! I've tried a ton of combinations for hop/barrel/bucking and the Nexxspeed with nineball and modify x-range has blown every other combo out of the water by a long shot
Coming from a long past of Photography, Brass is used on high end filters and hot shoe thumbrests as they do not expand or contract with temperature. Getting it stuck only causes damage to the equipment. Likewise with plumbing taps and leakages. :) So in a sense, Brass would be better for retaining the airseal and fitment as it doesn't change in size with the temperature. That said, I've found the Aluminium unit to fit very well still (without testing it during summer vs winter) so the difference in money for the material is really to be justified by the spender. I personally would rather pay a little bit more for the peace of mind, especially for a higher end build or a competition unit.
Ah It's meant for a tighter seal around the nozzle but tbh that isnt really needed as Maple Leaf buckings are already designed to be quite tight. It causes more issues than it's worth so I won't bother.
Working to improve to be much better than both on our next design, both engineering and mechanically in the design. Plus, ours is patent pending and has longevity 😁
And if the best was simply the original mariu. each model attempts to have similar performance with mariu as a reference. Of course it is not CNC but the balls spin like lasers
Suprising, i dont have inner barrel wobble or that bad fitment into an outer barrel with my lacapa hop must of got lucky means their qc is abit lacking
The outer barrel fitment is understandable due to various brand specs but the inner barrel, I must've been super (un)lucky. Would've love for them to address it directly though... Oh well. Plumbing Tape it is.
