This is part 1 of a church I was striping and had to do 25 ♿️ . It was a restripe and somewhat of a new layout bcuz I had to add access aisles beside some of the ♿️. Didn't have a lot of issues but this took all day and I even ran out of white traffic paint. Contact your local asphalt/seal coating companies in your area to get striping jobs... that's how I landed this job. Tips on how to do access aisles/crosswalks is needed so please comment below. The faster way is to get multiple stencils like 3 or 4 of the same kind. Line them all up, then spray & repeat. This way, on a job where you have 28 handicaps with blue background, not only will it go faster, but you won't have that much paint build-up on the stencils.

I'd recommend two ramps and using the rear wheels to load/unload into the back of your truck. The front wheel will get knocked out of alignment and make your lines banana shaped.

If we have more than 5 we usually trace the handicap stencil then stripe the outside box then spray the inside.. or trace the stencil then use a paint roller with a stick to paint

That’s EXACTLY how I’m going to do it in the future! I just found that out last week from one of my asphalt guys. He said the exact same thing that you just said and I was like, “damn, that’s super smart!” Thanks for comment that and reminding me!

Don't know how you would go faster. Some guys put down the stencil and outline it with chalk, then paint with a roller. Maybe that saves a little time because you don't have to wait for the stencil to dry... Or maybe you get a couple more stencils so you can do several at once? Of course filming a vid and having to talk to the camera eats up a ton of time.

snap a base line takes the guessing out of it hold one end of the chalk line with the tire of your machine ....SWITCH TO OIL BASE LOL

Thanks for the vids. To make your blue squares I would get four pieces of thin wood that can be press fit together like some narrow tongue and grooves on the corners That way you can take it apart put the four pieces of wood together and use some Velcro or something around them to hold them together to store them away. They will have weight and won't be moved around by the wind and they'll be light enough to handle all day. That's what I'm going to do.

One of the local sealcoat/asphalt companies I subcontract work thru… one of the best ways to get work. Contact your local companies and ask them if they need any assistance line striping now or for the upcoming season.

How do you determine price for a job like this?

This job was actually sub-contracted to me from one of the asphalt companies I get work thru. But if I were to bid it myself, I would have counted all handicaps, parking lines, access aisles/crosswalks and have set price for each of those line items and then add the cost of paint and materials. And then get your total.

Sherman and Williams will shake a can of paint for$1 in that parking lot is so far away from being ADA the ashes are angled the wrong way and why don't you step inside the box and paint your way out I usually don't give away free tips but you will never take work away from me

Well thanks for your input... churches are allowed to get away with some things that are not ADA and plus this was a re-stripe and this is what the customer wanted and they like the work that was completed. Wind was blowing heavily too and I was just trying to complete this job on schedule. Also, I probably won't take work from you bcuz there's plenty of work out here for all of us who are trying to feed our family. Peace out mane
