THE HIDDEN GEM The Best Chinese Food in Liverpool SANS CAFE
We took a visit to Sans Cafe at the weekend, and boy oh boy we sure was glad we did, after passing this Hidden Gem so many times over the years, we finally called in.
The food was amazing and we definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Chinese food, just watch our video and see for yourself and then come down to Sans Cafe on the corner of Lightbody street and Great Howard Street in Liverpool.

An absolute gem, this place. Looks are definitely deceiving. The food is excellent, restaurant quality with a massive selection.

Grew up down there before they knocked everything down, used to go to Sans and buy their chop suey rolls, we would walk to the pier head eating them, I’m going to have to go back and eat in there ❤

Hi Colin and Tracy great vlog the food looked fab and freshn tasty didnt know this place existed even went I youst to work in stanley-market on the sundays the meat auction lorry 2010 mabye but will come to Sans when Im in liverpool I live in spain at the moment Torreiveja anyway a proud Family business well done the place looked very clean and tidy peace from spain

I have past this place so many times going along The Dock Rd and I have seen other reviews but never from inside. It's going on my list. The Hairy Bikers went there, just a few weeks before Dave Myers sadly Passed away and it's a place that's now on my visit list 👍👍

The food isn't the best but it's cheap . Char Sui wonton soup is too salty and from a packet 😂 the salt and pepper chicken is not the best and cooked in a batter which is soggy . The bbq sauce is nice though . Beijing palace on county road is the gaff . Salt and pepper Sui Mai , salt and pepper duck spring rolls home made 🤤🤤🤤

Well we can only go on the food that we tried and what we had was delicious, the spring rolls were homemade and not a bit greasy , the special fried rice was tasty and full of meat & the sweet chilli crispy chicken was crispy and so chunky 👍🏻 it’s all about opinions and on the day we went this vlog was our opinion 🙏🏻👍🏻❤️

Sorry to say the meal you had about as much resembles Chines food as Roast beef. I didn't think it would be any good as it's in Liverpool. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. Not for me I'll stick to Chinatown in London. That's where they sell real Chinese food.

Hi Frederick, sorry to inform you but Liverpool has the oldest Chinese community in the UK… the food we had was delicious and all prepared and cooked by Lin the owner But if you don’t try anything different you’ll never know how good things can be 👍🏻

@@TracyandColinTheFoodies I will agree that you must try different things. Sorry, but what Lin dished up was certainly not Chinese. I lived in China for several years and I have Never seen anything like that served. I have no doubt that it tasted nice. Just not for me. If Liverpool has so many Chinese people living there. It must have several Good (Authentic) Chinese restaurants. Maybe you should try them???

I think many of Lin’s customers would disagree with you ! Lin’s Husband came from Sichuan China in the 1970’s and opened up this Chinese Cafe , cooking for the dockworkers and local community. As we always say it’s all about opinions , and as we tasted it , its our opinion that matters. We have tasted many Chinese dishes around our city and wider and We will at some point be visiting London so maybe you could recommend some good places to eat down there 👍🏻

@@TracyandColinTheFoodies There are loads of great Chinese restaurants in China Town. For a light, lunch try Duck noodle soup with some seasonal greens in Oyster sauce. But whatever you do for dinner you must try Crab with ginger and spring onion +++. Try the Lido restaurant in Gerard street always has a very good selection. N/B don't expect Chop Sui as know where will sell it, cos it's not Chinese. That's some concoction made up in the USA. If you can get it, try Jar Chang noodle soup. That'll wake your taste buds up. If you are there on a Sunday try Dim Som. Washed down with Chinese tea. Many different dishes all served off trollies. N/B don't expect plates & spoons and forks as you will get Chopsticks and a Chinese spoon and a bowl. Have a look at some of the Chinese supermarkets. Will open your eyes. regards. Hope you enjoy.
