You should try reviving the Sassanids in CK3. There’s a ruler in Persia called Rostam Karenzade of Mazandaran (vassal of the Hashimids) who is the Dynasty Head of what’s left of the Sassanids. You can even trace the previous Persian emperors in his family tree

bit of a funny concept but try starting as one of the Western Hordes ---> Poland ---> Ruthenia just hold onto Polish traditions as Ruthenia and you can have Horde Ideas with Noble Ideas with the silly polish cav mods and cosack estate. Basically just stack Cav mods and have fun plus you get the unfair power of the Tsardom reform with Orthodoxy

Need to start as Lan Xang and get their cav bonuses from the mission tree. But you can't get Cossacks estate unless you start in the eastern tech group. You can't change tech groups anymore.

@@Rosemarie_and_tomato you should be able to stack horde government idea group, Poland national ideas, and tsardom government. You just can't get cossacks. Pommerania also has a mission to get cav bonus. Going tengri also gets bonuses to cav ratio. There are better governments for cavalry though.

Don’t forget taking Espionage for the +Horse and +Noble policies for +50% Cav flanking and a net +20% CCA :)

@@captainblacktail8137 you can if you start as randome Nation with Christian religion, after release Lan xiang and play as them, and play as a horde, go to Poland, conquer it, reform Poland, conquer runethia, reform it but with polish ideas, I personally managed only stuck 98% csv combat ability, but they say that you can have almost 105%

They are the joke option compared to the other two, yes. In some very rare circumstances they might be the only viable option if your eventual goal is to form the Mongol Empire. Maybe.

Timurids->Tibet->Khoshuud/Khlankha->Persia->Ilkhanate with Persian ideas or Timurids->Tibet->Khoshuud/Khlankha->Ilkhanate with Timmy ideas (Timmy gets event for +1 yearly horde unity and Timurids have another +1 in their ideas so you can eventually sit on 100 unity) Flag can be changed with mods (without breaking ironman) and they have one of the best colors in the game (changing color does break ironman so this is important)

I had a dream where laif played eu4 in a victoria 2 timeframe mod, and he wanted to reform poland as krakow but you started as an indian minor to form "hindustan" to bankroll krakow before going there and forming poland, but he had so much fun as hindustan that he didnt want to tag switch but in the end he guilted himself into doing it, thats where the dream ended

Cheating is a bit of a stretch, and some people take this way to serious and have way to much time for Reddit. A) Its a game, a largely single player game. B) Most "cheats" are not options when playing multiplayer, or you would never be able to get away with them without the other players knowing C) Most of what we watch on this Channel is hardly 'optimal' play for either single or multi player Also maybe you and Ludi both take Reddit to seriously... but it helps create content, so maybe it helps.

Ludi will say he’s giving good advice that any player can follow through on, whereas Leith will alt+F4 if a situation has just gone to shit and openly acknowledge it (perhaps do the same with cheating too, though I can’t recall such a moment off the top of my head). Point is, they try to maintain two different images nowadays: Ludi: proper guides Leith: entertainment

Killing the heir of hungry so Austria can pu and remain a strong ally

Ahm, just FYI, the envoy travel time idea has movement speed as well, which combined with gov reform... Well... You get the idea. It's like 45% movement speed of armies.

it took me about 2000 hours into the game to play a horde, because up until then it was the opposite of my playstyle (slow and methodical, keeping a stable nation) First campaign as a horde was jianzhou, and if i ever go back to finishing it, it's a world conquest. So yeah, that should tell hesitant players what kinda playthroughs hordes are

Nobody really talked about it because it is the Persian counterpart to forming the Mongol Empire ....... Which you know, is also shared with the Golden Horde and Yuan, which, let's face it, have better position, better ideas, better momentum going forward to form ME, it's really a "meh" formable especially in that Persia/Khorasan region

If you ever want to read an interesting alt-history with a light amount of magic, check out the Heirs of Alexandria books. Basically takes place as the same time as the start of EU4, in Venice and Milan. The Ilkhanate is still around in this timeline.

Have you ever played as Sikh Punjab? its insane Sikh is a bretty good religion and Punjab has some nice military ideas. Plus you get to keep whatever mission tree you had so you can still use Delhi's powerful mission tree Plus they have a unique gov type and a unique gov reform that makes your armies very powerful edit: plus, if you form them as Delhi, you can still do Delhi's achievement since the only pre-requisite is you start as Delhi lots of pluses

Also one word of warning for Sikh: every Guru Teaching you choose will subtract 1 Missionary Strength, so you should go with Humanist Ideas to prevent rebel swarms

I saw this and immediately thought back to my history of the Muslim world class where we learned about the nomadic Ilkhanate taking control of Persia and stopping at basically the boundaries of the plateau due to geographic limitations and other stuff. It was really cool to see them actually in EU cause I had no idea they existed in the base game

Almost no vassals declare independence anymore in 1.33. In three of my campaigns, Sweden had the backing of Austria, PLC, Russia, and even Britain one time, and never declared independence from Denmark. The same for colonies, with Portuguese Brasil being supported by me for independence for 50 years before the finally declared. No idea what's causing it, but yeah, vassals are very hesitant to do things in 1.33

Just a heads up, don’t raze your lands with feudalism. You are so close to getting it multiple times, but decided to raze it and lower your dev so you couldn’t embrace it. You can get the best of both worlds by lowering autonomy (getting more feudalism) then razing it after you embrace. You’ll get rebels, but you’d get em anyways.

the problem with the Ilkhanate, is that anyone that can realistically form them, can just go form the Golden Horde or the Yuan without going unnecessarily out of their way (that both have massively better idea sets) instead, because the game starts too long after the Ilkhanate collapse, so there are no horde successor states left (the Jalayirids, for example, that got taken out in 1432). I think it should probably be possible for one of the Timurid successors to revive it, as long as they royal marry with the Chagatai or something.

You don't need to play in Iron man, Laith. That guy on reddit was wrong and you can see all the support of you in the comments of that thread :). The difference between you 'cheating' is that you do it openly and fairly. You do it to crate a better video. And we're all happy with that. On the other hand, playing in Iron man will crate new challenges for you, which will be fun to watch :).

talking of you cant get to jaunpur but they can get to me.. i was always told when i started playing that anywhere the enemy can go, i can go.. yet i quite often find the enemy is on a province right next to me and i cant attack them.. i know if the province is unexplored i cant go there without a conquistador but it happens sometimes when i can see the land.... can you explain to me every single reason that would allow them to have their army (not black flagged or white flagged) on other nations lands but im not allowed there.. cos to me it seems like cheating.. if they have access i should have it surely?

Most player that do a mongol worldrun know the ilkhanate, because there is a decision to release the ilkhanate that you can get, called "Restore the Ilkhanate". There is also the mission for it "Restore the Ilkhanate", which Uzbek should actually have , as it is part of the Tartar mission tree? What is also correct is: Noone who did said runs will ever play as the ilkhanate because....why would you?^^

Honestly I don't think most people care about you using the console - the videos have always been for entertainment and more a kind of inspiration for possible runs you could give a try rather than "heres how you can do this run" which idk is kinda evident by the amount of deathwars and rebels your campaigns usually end up with. idk I feel like its acc a minority of people who care - ludi more so because he paints them as legitimate and as like campaign guides (which i never really get, guides are only really useful so long as there isnt too much room for stuff to be different like, beyond just yeah you should expand here and do this at the end of the main guide video, never got the reason behind his like extended guide things) But also does make it more funny with how you stress that it's ironman now. Also I'm pretty sure I've formed Ilkhanate before in a chagatai campaign, before immediately looking at the ideas & lack of flavour and savescumming to form Yuan instead, v. rare to see, and its a shame because the colour is kinda nice.

what you do with hormuz is you put defensive edict on the fort and you only let them move forward 7% each month (oops the game crashed) - its more annoying on ironman mode especially since the game cheats so much on sieges which is why i dont like ironman mode cos u cant EDGE OF TOMMOROW it as easily and anyway just make sure they stay on that siege for as long as possible doing nothing interesting while you fight the rest of the war.. id only let them win after 49% on they moved forward max 7% a month so thats like 15 months you got to not worry about their army lol

It is not that surprising if you a bit into history, you'd known that Ilkhan is one of the four sons of Cenghis Khan and every one of them owned a nation in history, namely: Chagatai, Great Horde, Ilkhanate and Yuan

Love the fact that youre playing ironman now. I havent heard about the console cheats, but playing everything associated with non-ironman, flat dev, loading saves etc. takes away a whole lot as a viewer. I do savescum my own ironman saves so its maybe a bit hypocritical of me, but just saying I enjoy these types of videos a lot more

Eh, I'm fine with savescumming when necessary, because EU 4 can have a lot of bullshit, but console cheats are kind of a turn off and so is flat dev.

Bruh they are quite well known in Middle Eastern history. They were the ones that sacked Baghdad in 1258 and brought the Sultanate of Rum to its knees. Also, they fought the Mamluks at Ain Jalut in 1260.

Weird place to ask but I was recently playing a game as Scotland and got a PU over France and eventually went on to create Great Britain with France under as my vassal… But I’m rather new so I wanna ask what made that happen? Was it random chance or had I happened to have fulfilled some set of requirements that I don’t know about? And do I have to worry about them eventually declaring war on me for it?
