Just one more thing! Gotta love Peter Falks portrayal of that bumbling but loveable Lieutenant Columbo. Definitely one of my favorite characters of all time. No one could have played the role better then him.
Peter was incredible as Columbo. I have the full collection and watch every Sunday without fail. Such a sad ending for Peter given his talent and utter professionalism in that role. He was a one off and nobody could ever replace him as Columbo. One of the greatest American Actors ever. Stevie in Scotland.
I definitely hates wen he goes to the scene and be touching on everything with no gloves on and wen he solves the crime he lets the perpetrator walk out with no handcuffs on 😮😅
He had a fantastic life, aside from having only one eye--He was amazed at his worldwide fame, the country of Romania almost rioted when they heard he was leaving the show in 1977, Peter Falk had to go on Romanian national TV and make a speech to calm the country down
Outstanding actor and series,no one else could have played Columbo.Falk was also good at comic roles as seen in the movie, "Its a mad mad mad mad world"
There is a wonderfully touching video of Peter Falk doing a book-signing around the time when the beginning stages of dementia had intruded. Peter Falk copes gamely with the help of friends. There is a great reunion with Jonathan Winters, himself physically disabled, during which you can tell Peter Falk, with some prodding, does seem to recognize him. Unfortunately their conversation is lost to crowd noise. Clearly this gad to gave been Peter Falk's final public appearance.
I am surprised he became such a wealthy man because besides columbo he did not appear in much block busters...Anyways...loved the way the criminals underestimated his intelligence because of how he carried himself....
*Several years ago, I saw a video that someone took of Falk, obviously suffering from dementia, as he was being harassed by some teenage girls who probably didn't even know who he was. But I am glad that this video is no longer on You-Tube.*
As one of I assume a great many people who asked that the terribly sad and awful video be taken down, I am grateful for your comment informing us of its well-deserved fate. Such a sad story. I always liked Peter Falk, and just loved how he played Columbo. In my mind, Alzheimer's is the worst. If I no longer know who I am, and there's no hope for improvement, I'll want to be done. I wish we didn't have to spend so much on weapons and war, and I hope with AI medical research, we can find a cure for Alzheimer's and so many other devastating diseases.
They used 2 Peugeot 403's in the show, one had slightly darker paint and had dents in different places than the other car, one of the cars vanished and has never been seen since, and the other one ended up in mexico, the tv company tracked it down and tried to buy it back but the owner knew what it was and wanted a fortune for it, so they walked away, they did say it was in terrible condition, someone had used it as a dumpster, left out in the elements and overflowing with junk. i'd love that car, just because i knew he had drove it.
I am proud to say that he had Hungarian heritage as Tony Curtis had !!With only one eye he was able to gain such popularity , that is very hard work ,he deserve much ...much more recognition and credits...etc from the Hollywood business mafia .
He earned a lot of emmys... Especially when you consider that. Colombo didn't run for very long. I think he won a golden globe, too. He's beloved by everyone I know. So I don't understand what you're talking about. And what does his ethnic background have to do with it? That's a mystery that might even stump Colombo himself. I'm certainly not arguing that Hollywood is fair in any way. But peter falk was amazing, and as far as I can see, he was recognized for it.
I enjoy watching Columbo but on TV they are constantly repeating same shows over and over again. Fortunately I caught one that I never seen, it was the two boys that set up to get rid of their professor with the weapon and garage incident.
Peter Falk was one of the best Actors of all time, sad that his 2 Peugeot Columbo cars have gone, one disappeared forever and the other ended up in mexico and has been left to rot, the tv company tried to buy it back but the owner wants crazy money for it so they never went through with it. that was a few years ago so i dread to think of what its like now.
@@ianmangham4570 Are you serious ? i mean really serious ? from what i hear it was in a real bad mess, some say it was used as a dumping place and i think someone said it was set on fire too. if it is restored it would be nice if the person contacts peters daughter and maybe send her a picture.
They weren't really bothering with doing seasons anymore so the final episodes of the shows were all called "movies" but really just normal 90 minute episodes like the rest of the series. The final episode/movie of the series is "Columbo Likes the Night Life", it's an alright standard story but we never got the big career caper series finale they wanted to cap it off but oh well. The "just one more thing" jokes right themselves here lol
Why don't you get a real job? Reporting on how every actor gets old, and their careers are over - what a surprise, and what a disgraceful waste of time, and disrespect to all these talented, hardworking people.
