Awukugua is in the Akuapem land of Eastern Region. They speak kyerepon. In kyerepon "kye" means look. Okomfo anokye's father is called Annor. They claim when he was born he had something in his hand so the called his father to come and look at it. They shouted, "Annor kye", to wit "Annor look", hence the baby got the name Anokye.

It was Otumfuo Nana Opoku Ware I Katakyie and not Prempeh Katakyie 1:05:22 Nana Opoku Ware I was Nana Osei Tutu I's successor. That is why Student/Students of the great Opoku Ware school are called Katakyie/Akatakyie!

Denkyira is in the Central Region of Ghana. The entire Denkyira tribe has their capital at Dunkwa-on-Offin. Denkyira is a very big tribe. No wonder they used to control all the other Akan States. They have some of the powerful gods in Ghana, even as at Today. The leader of Denkyira, Nana Boamponsem, should even be called a king because he rules over so many States. Note: I'm not a Denkyira. There’s a lot of truth in this. The only one he didn’t explain well was the Komfo Anokye Sword. It wasn’t Okomfo Anokye that put it there, it is the sword that was actually used to kill Okomfo Anokye by the Asantes. They were afraid Okomfo Anokye may reveal Asante secret one day to their enemies as he did to the Denkyira people. That’s why we say “Asante nkae” meaning Asantes didn’t remember everything Okomfo Anokye did for them but they turned and killed him
This historian is confusing a lot of facts. Opoku ware katakyie succeeded Osei tutu the first and not Prempeh. The Akyem crossed the river Ptah and not fraw or the volta ok, so he should get his facts right.
Point of Correction; Nana Opoku Ware 1 succeeded Nana Osei Tutu Nyamekese. It was not Nana Prempeh. The river in which Nana Osei Tutu was crossing is Pra river. He was carried in a palanquin and reaching or crossing the river on a wooden bridge, aka "Twene" the Akyems shot Nana Osei Tutu.

This guy got the nzema story wrong… in the 18s nzema had a great king called king Kaku aka… he conquered all the Akan empire and even expend his king ship to Ivory Coast….
