He wears the bag to hide his face from everyone. It says it in the character description that people don't like him. He hides his face so those in the city don't see that he is the thin man. As soon as he loses it in the game, Six drops him because she knows who he truly is.
Imagine being the silent introvert kid in the whole world, finding a person who you trusted and loved for a long time. And then getting betrayed by them.
The problem is that Mono became the Thinman due to Six's betray. So when and how Mono got trap in the tower in the first place? Plus, Mono looks more like a slave to the eyes monster, rather than a willing servant, using him and his powers against his will. For young Mono, ether The Thin man have enough free will to free a younger self of him, free him and break the loop, or The eyes monster, when Thin Man become to old, release a young Mono and lure him to the Tower, capture him again and keep using him
Assuming LN2 is a time loop that means that the events of LN2 already happened, we’re just playing the beginning of one of the many time loops. Basically six will always betray mono, so he ends up becoming thin man and being used by the tower, then he goes back in time through the tv transmissions to try to get his younger self to break the cycle, but ultimately is doomed to always fail. The. The cycle repeats.
It all makes sense now, Thin man is the only person that targeted Six because he knows that she was the cause of Mono's destiny and also targeted Mono to stop him from reaching the signal tower and save six
Almost all the kids (who are alive) have their faces partially covered with hair or something else. I always thought it was to protect themselves from the radiation so their faces don't get deformed like the adults
I have a question on your theory about these events being a time loop, the viewers being the guests, and six being the lady, how could the doctor make new faces for the viewers if he got burned alive? Edit: Thanks for answering my question!
Wasn’t there a theory that the doctor is brought back to life again and again because he is also in the loop? When he crawls across the ceiling, ashes are falling off of him, like as if he came out of the body burner. Not my theory, but it’s an interesting one.
@@gamersault Can you shed some light on how six only betrayed mono after he took off his mask, I say this because six was friendly with him when he had his mask on, but was different toward him once he took his mask off.
Guys I think six “betraying “ mono was all planned by the two of them to stop the eye and the signal tower It sounds outlandish but I believe the theory I’ve connected from very little nightmares the comics all the way to little nightmares 2 is abit feasible
I wanna know how it all started cuz yes we know it's a time loop so it'll repeat no matter what but then that means the creatures already knew mono was going to be the thin man but how did they know in the first place like before the loop started?
As the world buckles under the relentless pulse of The Signal Tower, Mono takes refuge where he can. His thin paper mask offers some respite, helping him forget that the world outside hates him, and wants him to fail - but he can't stay hidden forever.
It's kind of metaphoric, because all eyes are on him as he is the star of this game, and he's in a loop because of people playing the game, sometimes more than once. Anyway, I'm guessing when he defeated his older self, he somehow made him younger and sent him back to the TV where he came out of in the beginning?
my theory:mono remember the loop, sort of,he knows he is and becomes the thin man,but never knows how,so he wears the bag so things that want to kill him wont want to more and so people like six dont want to kill him
oh yeah and this is backed up because six kills mono when he isnt wearing the bag,you might be thinking:what about the other hats?those show his face! and to that i say....."paper bags the only cannon hat?"
But if it's a time loop. When does even Six come back? She has to come through her time loop before Mono does it. The second thing with that is, when Six lets go. The game ends, that means her time loop has to be faster than Mono's. Or am I just struggling with dumb questions?
I get why he would want to wear a paper bag. But if he feels safe wearing the bag, why did he take it off when fighting the thin man? He couldn't have known that the thin man is him either. And even after killing him, why did he never put it back on?
I think it's because the bag is more metaphorical. He hides himself, he's shy and self conscious, but when he faces the thin man, he has no choice but to accept who he really is.
maybe he DID know he was thin man but he did it anyway to rescue six? makes the betrayal even worse but it kinda makes sense that he did know and was trying to avoid but it ultimately realized it was his fate and accepted it. thats how i interpreted it
The way that you said the "vilians"/bosses in the game would know mono's identity would suggest that he would have finished a previous loop once without hiding his face. Perhaps thats how we get to use all his other hats and maybe after he used all the other hats he found the paper bag! Ngl i love this theory
Imagine being extremely shy and introverted and somehow making a really good friend that you love and trust with your life only to be forgotten as soon as they betray you Wow I thought we were talking about me for a sec- Short story: So I had a friend once and we were best friends right? Well as soon as people started spreading rumors about me she didn’t want to be associated with me. One year I was alone. Completely. I suffer from anxiety and depression now because I think the world is after me. HAPPY ENDING THOUGH WE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT PLACE AND NOW I HAVE A LOT OF AMAZING FRIENDS :’D
This is also why The thin man is the only person/monster who doesn’t just ignore six. Because he hates her for betraying him so he tries to take revenge but his younger self/Mono tries to free her like he did and so the thin man tries to get rid of mono to ensure he doesn’t free her (just a theory)
"They" probably hate him because the kids got kidnapped but some might have survived and hate mono because maybe mono lead the guy that kidnapped them all to their secret base or whatever
Here's a random crackpot theory I speculated out of thin air while listening to the video: What if Mono actually knows what he's going to become? See, we all understand the end of the loop, but I don't see many people taking the time to explain the beginning. What if Mono, the kid as we know and play him, is a projection of his own desperation to escape the Tower? He gets trapped in there with the tower thing, uses his powers to form a kind of symbiotic stasis where the flesh can't reach him but his confinement holds unalterably true. The Tower feeds off of his power and uses it to either amplify or generate the Broadcast that enslaves and distorts the world. Slowly he gets corrupted too and shifted into the Thin Man. But his powers can do a lot of crazy shit, seemingly based in warping the universe to his willed perspective. So he uses his memories from before he was trapped as a lifeline, his one fragile hope. He takes the memories from outside, and distorts them. Twists reality around and around until suddenly his memory isn't in the past anymore, it's happening "again." The Thin Man gives up his last shred of sanity to recreate the younger Mono, and the boy hurtles out of an old TV. Mono gets up, with partial or complete knowledge of what just caused him to exist, and begins pulling whatever elements he can use together for the journey. Because his existence was spawned from a set of memories, ultimately he can't escape the path back to the tower... and maybe this extends to everything else, perhaps the world is just a predetermined series of illusions. But if there's a place within the distortions that can change things, some variation that might save him from his fate, Mono can find it. Eventually. This time doesn't work, this playthrough of the game had the same ending as always. And is it any wonder that he sits down so heavily in that chair? But there will be another attempt. He just has to wait until he can build up the strength for another big distortion, another Mono.
Just a thought I had, but I think it is really telling that the kids are all named with numbers. Paired with the time loop, I think it's possible that all six numbered kids are actually doomed "little nightmares" so to speak. They will eventually grow into full fledged nightmares and reign over a dominion given to them by the Eye. In a way, they are like the Eye's disciples. After entering whatever bargain they made with the Eye they are trapped, like it or not. Even if they die the cycle just restarts, and the Eye tightens its grasp on this doomed world. The children in turn have immense power, but are cursed to lose an important part of themselves. I agree, I think Mono's price was loneliness. Six's is destructive ambition. Her hunger is just to symbolize her inner desire to consume everything and everyone in her path to get what she wants. I also think she is innately evil, compared to Mono who makes bad choices from ignorance. Since Six is the last disciple, I think only she can truly end the cycle. But she fits in this world so why would she? Her first instinct is to embrace it. Also, I think Mono started this whole thing in the first cycle which could be another reason he has a key symbolically. He may have opened pandora's box, but he cannot shut it now. If we get more games I expect we may see some of the other kids in action and their adult nightmare form. I am hoping eventually we see the Eye. I bet it will be some Lovecraftian god. At least that would be super cool!
I think one of the biggest reasons Six dropped Mono was exactly because she saw his face, what if his face is something like a curse? That makes anyone instantly hate him? He's even wearing it at school!
Alot of people say that soul sucking is six's power but her hunger is because when she ate the lady she got her powers to soul suck and maybe turn people into nomes if the dlc is cannon so if she saved mono she just would've ate him cause she can't control her powers and then would've been able to glitch like mono through tvs she unknowingly saved mono from death but doing so crated a loop
One thing I have kind of been trying to find out is why does he have powers? Like The best answer is because he needs to have them to do the things with the TVs but like why him? Why is he special? And what was his Goal? At he beginning of this he starts outside of a broken TV. Which in my view can be taken as He has been trying to do this for a long time... Why? If the answer is because he was curious, Then why Does he have these powers then?
Every child has something limiting their vision. Mono has hs hats and paper bag, 6 has her bangs and then the yellow raincoat from te girl from the nest. The other kids in the comics have hoodies, bandages and a bedsheet. Even in the digital comic, the cupid child has a bandage and he is taken by the broadcaster when he lfts one eye. Only the girl in the hospital and the lollipop kid have nothing and they both die.
i cant get behind this one. if everyone knows they are in a loop except Mono, then what about 6? and most of the monsters live in the end so how would they be stuck. no, i think the only one who knows is ThinMan. and the reason for the bag is probably from when he found out about his powers. likely found himself a freak and hide his face because that made him feel more normal. its why he takes it off for the fight when he goes ham with the powers. its security.
Maybe six dropped him bc she knew he was going to become the thin man? Maybe she found out once the thin man trapped her in the television and maybe thats why she was obsessed with her safe space again. And shes going to try to break the time loop that mono is stuck in so she let him go for that purpose?
all the enemies in Ln2 look at mono and and think "wait a second...that's the guy that did this to me!" in Ln 1 the enemies think "wait a second... that's the girl that caused all this!"
It makes sense why six would drop him because she needs the thin man to make the people who go on to the maw so she can have food for the shadow person who resides in her
WAIIITTTTT, what do you mean keep on happening again? So if you did something different from the loop, the thing tat was different from the rest will continue? Or, the loop will go on, ignoring that something had changed, but if that different thing continues, then, is the possibility of the "Loop" to end? It will be slow, as really slow, it'll literally take lifetimes
But if the thin man is freed by mono how does the thin man collect souls before mono opens the door, and if all it takes to open the door is just ............ opening it since it doesn't need a key, why doesn't the thin man just open it
How does the time loop start?? It’s so confusing How did he get to the wilderness in the first place? If the loop keeps repeating over how did the first mono ever meet thin man if thin man doesn’t exist cause this very first mono has not been dropped yet cause we just started ?? Or is it like the city itself is somewhat supernatural? Like silent hill or the hill house Once he gets there (idk how he got there) the thin man immediately becomes a thing in the tower cause that’s what is going to happen to him? Is it like the haunting of hill house? Where Nell is the bent neck lady in the future and is haunting the little Nell from the very start when the Dudleys move in cause the house had powers of its own and it knew what will happen to Nell and there was no way to stop it it doesn’t have any sense of time so her soul could travel to the past and the future and the present? Is that how mono gets in the loop? Cause the city/tower knows what will happen to mono in the end and there’s no way to undo it so is that why when the very first mono gets to the wilderness in the very beginning of the game the thin man exists in the tower already cause the tower knows what will happen to mono in the end and that’s why the very first thin man is already there? Idk could be a reach but it makes sense to me Also if none of that is true then I think mono is not the thin man.. but he’s one of the many versions of the thin man whoever we fought is probably some other version of the thin man who is NOT mono And that’s why we run into six and she does what she does and mono becomes the new thin man and then six leaves and goes to the maw where LN1 takes place The begging of the game where we see the corridor and the door with the eye could just be a vision mono had of the future and he probably has the same powers as the previous thin man ? The TM before mono probably is some other kid who got stuck and had nothing to do with six he was just a random kid maybe? Like RK was a random kid who got turned into a random nome And six probably dropped mono cause she was pissed off at mono for letting her get dragged away by the TM and for destroying her music box I think it made her happy and feel safe... we all know she’s a bit..... looney anyway That would make sense I guess Cause six isn’t hungry the entire LM2 but when TM takes her away that’s when dark six is born and in the end dark six is pointing at the poster or whatever telling six to go there to get rid of her hunger and six is hungry now cause she is literally empty on the inside ?? That’s probably why we see mono thin man in the end of the RK DLC maybe mono wants revenge!!!
My only question is how did Mono ended in first loop before he become the Thin Man. Nobody could have know then what would be so there is something bigger in background going on
is there a theory or explanation as to why mono appears at the end of the DLC in the first game and how did 6 escape from the thin man and appear in the TV where mono was? also, if you look at the TV screen when the thin man pulls 6 back into the TV, for a moment you can see that the thin man looks different and not wherrying his hat, does this mean he can look different then his normal form, like turning back time on himself and appearing younger.
Heres a tip maybe the one the doctor is keeping alive maybe it's himself and then he found another him and keeps doing it and the Hunter got shot maybe he's still alive and just goes back and do it again
I already know why he wears a paper bag. To protect his face from the Television. If he doesn't where a paper bag he's gonna be addicted to the Television.
Six wanted mono to fail because she didnt know how he looked only at the signal tower thats why six let mono fell but before that she look who he was and six wanted mono to fail..
So villains are actually try to save Pale City from Transmission and Thin Man's evil deeds. I a mlikely to believe Thin Man and The Lady, Mono and Six, they fated to become the controller above places like Pale City and Maw by using addictions like television and food. The difference is The Lady evil herself unlike Thin Man, if you consider how tranquil is Thin Man and how violent is The Lady. Same for Six and Mono. Maybe Six even knew about Eye creature's plans so she betrayed Mono to become Thin Man. My another theory is since Mono means one in Latin, there may be at least four other kids becoming manipulative tyrants in loop in other places.
Do u know Little Nightmare 2 is the 1st part and the Little Nightmare 1 is the Second? Crazy right? Also We know how Thin man is mono? Well what about the Lady in the First game? Its Six her future self it may have the younger six got to the future it may have been that she sap put mono's power a little so she may have time travelled without realizing
I have a theory Mono is suppose to wear the paper bag because when mono has the bag six will be with him But when he doesnt have the bag six will betray him.this is the thing the eye wants
In a file, the lady has a face file that says "I can't explain myself sir for i am not myself you see" what do you think this means? I think the mask possesses her.
If you look closely at some of the boss enemies, it shows that they've met their predestined fate. The doctor is constantly shedding ash when shuffling around, the teacher has probably been stretch her neck longer and longer per time loop, the hole on the hunter's mask or his injured arm which is evidence that he's been shot before.
You’ll not that during the final fight with Six in her monster form, if you call for her while you’re in the void you’ll hear Mono’s voice echo endlessly. I like to think that is both past and future versions of Mono doing the same thing at the same time.
So they were after the wrong child. All along they chase mono and overlook six who cause him to be the thin man in the first place. They planted a knife in mono's back only to have six rub salt in it to make matters even worse. Harsh.
Some little facts about the world of Little Nightmares 2: *There are 249 patients within the Pale City hospital. *There is a metal band titled “Death Burger” *There are two male bullies named Truls and Benny, and then there is a female bully name Jennifor. *The children featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics have in-game models and animations that were intended to make an appearance within the campaign. They can bee seen through the game files. *The taxidermy dad seen within the Hunter’s cabin was intended to fall. *The ending sequence with Mono’s transformation was originally going to be much longer, showing that Mono was physically tied to his chair and is struggling to break free. As he ages, the struggling is less frequent, and then he stops. *We were originally going to interact with a teenage Mono. *There is a child with a ghost sheet whose nicknamed “Spirit.” He is not the same child featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics. *The eye entity seen chasing Mono and Six through the crumbling Black Tower is called “Flesh Walls.” *We were originally going to have an enemy that essentially acted the same way the stone-turning eyes did in the Maw, though this time it is an actual eye looking through a television.
Yeah, you can see all the kids glitch models in the old tv transmission room ending. A guy posted it earlier today on YT. It would have been nice to flesh out all those children's stories as well. Hope the DLC planned for this game really answers the big questions bc with the original devs ending their work on this franchise, i'm concerned at how the lore or games will change if someone else starts working on them for Bandai Namco. Surely they wouldnt scrap the franchise entirely though with such big fan base behind it.
My analysis on the Barber, who is definitely an interesting character. We have seen his portrait within one of the corridors of the Pale City school and within the residential quarters of the Governess, meaning the Barber has some sort of relationship with the Governess. This may indicate that he is a rather influential figure within the Pale City. Similar to how both the Teacher and Doctor have their portraits featured in the residential quarters of the Maw and are incredibly impactful within the Pale City. The Barber owns his own barber shop which is located somewhere within Pale City. The inside is quite well-kept, which is in complete contrast with the many dilapidated apartment complexes that surround him. The Barber seems incredibly sadistic towards children, as he attempts to kill any within sight with his hair-cutting scissors. Though this is common among most adults.
@@AlbertusSalvatierra I hope he shows up in a future installment, too!! I've always been intrigued by his portrait, and now that I've learned he's a barber, I'm really hoping he'll show up at some point. :)
He's just having a bad hair day I mean look at how long his hair is when the bag is off. EDIT: Wow I didn't ever think I would get this many likes on any comment I've ever posted.
Maybe this whole game is a loop. When they meet the hunter we see that he already has a hole inside the sack he is. And mono and six presumably kill the hunter. Maybe they shot him in the head leaving that hole behind. And also another evidence is that, as you said, the monsters only attack mono and they somehow know that he is the cause of all this pain and suffering. Maybe they are also in a loop.
