The police should be held accountable. To hound him for 19 hours after he had 3 negative drug tests! It's just cruel and unjustified treatment. Rather than destroy him, get him the help he needs. Such a waste.
No one needs to die for a mistake. He was a husband father son and friend to so many. What a waste and a shame that society can bring a man down with what is essentially gossip.
I think Korean funerals are becoming so common that it's incredibly disturbing. It's not the drug case, it's the media scrutiny which caused him to take his life. An irreparable damage to the family. Nothing can replace a lost family member.
Exactly. It’s literally like the person didn’t exist. The only proof you have this person existing as you got pictures of them or film or video. It’s just it’s heartbreaking.

I am so heartbroken. I have loved him since Coffee Prince. His performance in My Mister was one of the best depictions of middle-age that I’ve seen. I don’t care whether he did drugs or cheated on his wife and r anything else. None of that, if even true, excuses the fact that this man lost his life.
Mee too, after coffee prince, i watched all of his drama and movies. I dont know how many times i have rewatch My mister. This is sad, may he rest in peace
Same here. I followed his work after "Coffee Prince." Loved his work in "A Hard Day," especially. He was such a talented and versatile actor. He shall be sorely missed.
I watched My Mister three times and each time, his portrayal of a conflicted middle-aged man tugs at my heart. Such a great loss of an incredible talent and Korean culture just seems to be a planet of their own.
Actor Lee Sun Kyun is for me one of the very best actors in South Korea. His death and the circumstances that led to his untimely demise shocked peoplw from around the world who have learned to love and embrace K dramas. Lee Sun Kyun was not just a favourite. He was special and in fact a key figure why people from different nationalities started loving K movies and dramas. His appearance from Coffee Prince, Pasta, My Mister and The Parasite showcased his incredible acting talent and versatility in taking different roles... He will be sorely missed by his fans and will never be forgotten. NEVER!!! VERY SAD THAT HE WAS A VICTIM OF A SOCIETY WHO HAS A PROPENSITY OF CONDEMNING PEOPLE WITH ALLEGED ISSUES ON DRUGS. NOT THAT I CONDONE DRUG USE AMONG CELEBRITIES, BUT FOR HIM TO BE CANCELLED RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT CLEAR PROOFS IS TOTALLY UNFAIR AND UNJUST.
The work Lee Sun-Kyun did was so spot-on, poignant, charismatic, subtle, and powerful in all its guises, that I know memories of those extraordinary performances will live on. I can't comment on the charges, gossip, or mistakes. He was human, and as a specie, we often make stupid, self-destructive errors of judgment. Go in peace My Mister.
I am disturbed by this. I absolutely enjoyed him as an actor, long before Parasite, and he honestly could've been a part of another cast to win an Oscar. I am horrified for his family and truly, whatever the truth may be, no child deserves to grow up without their parent, especially in this way. Let's be nicer and more empathetic to one another in 2024.
I actually found him through "Parasite" found his almost lisp deep voice absolutely sexy. I watched a lot of his work. My favorite is " The King Maker" and " Payback"
This is terribly unfair...and I do blame the police's insistence on advertising his questioning...19 hours after already being questions twice before...and here in the US we don't care so much about famous people's personal lives...and totally agree the focus is on the wrong thing...it should be on the blackmailers with basically set up the victims ...and you did a wonderful job of explaining this...
This is the story of a man who was being cancelled due to suspected drug use. SK has strict standards and refuse to look at drug and alcohol addiction as a disease. Instead they cancel actors and ruin their careers. At a time when they are needed most, the industry turns their backs on the actors who bring money into their country from movies and dramas that are being watched overseas. This needs to change. Let the courts be the ones who decides how they need to either repent or are placed in care of a professional who can help them in their recovery. And what he did to his wife was between him and his wife. They even treated her unfairly because SK is unfair to family members of someone who has made bad decisions. Such a great loss to the SK actors guild and those that thoroughly enjoyed his acting talents. Remember him and how he changed the diversity of foreign films being watched in the United States and all over the world. The person who was blackmailing him needs to be accountable for her actions---she caused his death!
@@davidmun1601and if you are talking about the infidelity, it is not a crime and as sad as it is, it is common here in Korea.. so common that you could find some sort of underground prostitution on every corner in seoul
I was absolutely devastated by this news of his passing! While I first saw him in Parasite, I backtracked anything of his after watching his mesmerizing brilliant performance in My Mister! Strangely, this series was about finding compassion for others, doing the best for others and embracing your family, friends and community. Sadly, the Korean press relentlessly hounded him in his final months because of this "scandal" involving blackmail and alleged drug use. Yes he was an idol, but he was still a normal human, with feelings and dreams that this ultimately shattered his image! As a fan, I am heartbroken that he felt this was his only solution. I will remember his work fondly. The Korean movie industry lost a giant, one of the greatest artist of his time. 💔💔💔💔
If you only knew him from Parasite, you are missing out on a great body of work. He was such a magnificent actor...such range. My Mister is an absolute masterpiece of a drama and his performance was so amazing.
@@kaypee4704 I understand your point but are all of these dire enough to have someone end their life over? He was in the wrong but in his private life....I was appreciating his professional work and the excellence of that, cannot be denied.
This is a real tragedy. I hope SK society will learn a lesson from this and stop being so quick to condemn individuals without knowing the full information. Making poor lifestyle choices shouldn’t result in destroying someone’s career and subsequently their life.
sadly, they are built like that and wont forever solve this issue. unless...unless the mindset of the people in the country change. they like destroying their kind.
@BloodMoonOracle I think that generalization takes it a bit far. Unfortunately, suicide in some Asian countries is higher than in many other countries. There are cultural differences regarding suicide, yes, but that doesn't mean it doesn't concern them
Yeah totally agreed, we should not be too eager to judge celebrities. They are human too. As every human, each deserves to be presumed to be innocent until proven guilty. He might have made wrong choices but he still he deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt.
This is an example of social and media pressure… The “is not guilty until they proof otherwise… “ When the economic support is removed ( no marcas behind your image. No opportunity to get a job and fees for lost publicity contracts piled ), because you are under scrutiny of the police . This is How he was pushed towards a fall.
This was also how Kim Seon Ho must have experienced. And he was depressed about it. I don't know if he is recovering his career or he's done -- with social media and media ending his career the way Lee Sun kyun must have felt.
I agree with you totally. There are some wicked people who think they are judge and jury! The media is also responsible for his death. They drove him to it! 😢😢😢
@@kaypee4704I'm not sure if this is so easy to do, when being a former star with this kind of record in south Korea. My guess is, he wouldn't even get a chance to work as a normal employee and on top of it, he would have to endure badmouthing and discrimination. Someone needs to be very strong, to be able to handle that.
I hope his family will sue kmedia for wrongful death. They hounded him to do this. There was no reason for him to end it all. Now his children have no father and kmedia are responsible. It is unforgiveable, and I hope his widow sues kmedia, if only to prevent this ever happening to anyone else ever again
I am heartbroken. He was my favorite actor. So much swag. So cool. A great actor. The way he walked expressed his cool and swag. My prayers to his family. RIP. You will be truly missed.
Yes, unfair and heartbreaking all over again. We didn't lose a Korean actor, we lost one of the best actor of our generation. We did not deserve him. May his pain be relieved and his family find peace in all this sadness. RIP.
I saw the news online about Lee Sun-kyun’s death in the middle of the night & I was so shocked & devastated, I couldn’t get back to sleep for hours! I felt so sorry for his 2 young sons & his wife & all of his family! You are the first person I thought to seek further news from & hoped you would report on this, knowing you would do it justice, so thank you for making this video! 🙏❤The first k- drama I ever saw was Pasta on Hulu in April, 2010! He played the chef character to the hilt! And I’ve been hooked ever since. Have watched every movie, every drama he has been that was available to me. Such a loss. Godspeed, Lee Sun-kyun! 💐
I will always remember his infectious laughter in Coffee Prince, so young, happy and vibrant. I've got to love him not only for his tremendous talent but for the warmth and kindness he exuded. It's so, so sad. Another beautiful life wasted because of a culture of shame, blame and punishment.
This really pisses me off!! This is unforgivable the amount of pressure the media puts on celebrities. They should be providing help not ostracizing people. Every time I think South Korea is becoming more accepting and not as conservative, this shit happens. No one deserves this kind of treatment PERIOD! What a loss, not only of a human being, but of great talent. RIP Lee Sung-kyun. 😢💜
No disrespect,but...why is Korean society so toxic ,to the point thaT so many of its citizen are commiting suicide....either entertainers, school students or regular people..this is abnormallv abnormal ...so many lost lives...whats going on in this country...smh
But, wasn't it the POLICE THAT CREATED THE MEDIA UPROAR? Had they handled it more PROFESSIONALLY, this would've been avoided. This was 100% trial by social media. they tried him in the court of public opinion. he was a political football. the # of things wrong here are too immeasurable to list. But 1 of the biggest things is, when this happens again, as it surely will, there's needs to be PUSHBACK from the start. - after being cleared from any substances in his system 3x, he should have flatly refused to comply. - Held his OWN press conference in front of his home & started calling ppl and offices out. - just like in America, we have a double jeopardy law. you cant try a person twice for the same crime. they put him on trial about 10x for the same thing after ea time presenting NO NEW EVIDENCE. yeah, I'm pissed. but isn't the media following the lead of the officials?? Its the RESPONSIBILITY of public service, govt offices and law enforcement offices to PROTECT the public, uphold the laws. They declared him guilty when they leaked his name. The whole thing g is gonna backfire on them. this is the same police station that was in charge of the Halloween stampede that happened last year. They are inept, corrupt, selfish & focused on the wrong shit. they will never be cleaned up bc all the officials above them are corrupt. There is a tremendous amount of corruption in South Korea ruling systems. And let's not dismiss the origins of this chaos: Hawa Hyang.
I am so sad about this. I liked him so much: He was an amazing actor. And again I am wondering about Korean society and film industry being so cruel to their celebrities. Shame on those people who drove this man into suicide. RIP Lee Sun-kyun.
The poor Man driven to end his beautiful life, such a shame. The korean media and police are the ones who pushed him, the way they humiliated and bullied him relentlessly, he knew his career was over and probably his marriage too. He didn't deserve it, I'm sorry he felt he had no other option but this, its such a sad end. Rest in peace Lee Sun-Kyun 🤍
The pressure on these entertainers and idols is unimaginable. Sincere condolences to his family and friends- no one is perfect and I hope there is a cultural and political shift in South Korea so that another family does not have to deal with this kind of loss and shaming.
Than you need to change South Korean mentality, netizen, media, and moral, because the hypocritical morality, illusion about the pretty white looking angel South Korean Man or Woman, has put so much pressure on high sensitive actors, and actresses that many cannot handle this pressure for long. How many young South Koreans die every year, and how many students die of the same malicious pressure. This actor from the shocking movie PARASITE is at peace now. The family has to live on without him, and probably with unresolved issues. As many said already, he is one that did not make it through the “scandal”, like many other ones, and as long South Korean society will not change, there will be self inflicted deaths going on unfortunately. It is very sad. In all the drug, sex cases it is not about, how to help the person, it’s about condemnation, shame, excluding a person from society, and destroying a carrier. There were many of this type, Kim Hyun Joon has be destroyed too, but he came back, so has been Jang Keun Suk, singer Choi Sung-bong did not make it...
It was more than pressure. There was a witch hunt and he was targeted. To death. It is more sinister than that. So many times when this happened in South Korea people simply say RIP and move on. I don't understand. How can they not be more outraged, ask questions, and insist on changes?
@@HailToTheMeep Yes, the more that comes out the worse it looks- it is profoundly disturbing that he was questioned for 19 hours straight after 2 negative drug tests-that is inhumane and should never have happened. Saying that he agreed to it does not excuse it. The police are totally at fault- they should have vigorously pursued the blackmailers and kept this out of the press. I feel so bad for him and his family. What an unimaginable and completely preventable loss.
Absolutely devastating. The pessimist in me only knew it was a matter of time before another crumbled under the scrutiny. Regardless of what he did or didn't do, to be pushed to such a dark place that he felt this was the only option is heart breaking, I don't even want to imagine what his final moments were like. The agony his wife and children must be enduring right now is incomprehensible. I don't know what conversations he had with his wife these past couple of months or the state of their marriage, regardless, she lost her husband, who I'm sure, despite everything, was the centre of her and her kids world. There will never be a chance of reconciliation, healing or forgiveness. I would like to say let this be a lesson to the media, police and netizens to retain their humanity but lets be honest, as tragic as this, it won't change anything. He is not the first and probably won't be the last. I hoped to be proved wrong! RIP Lee Sun Kyun, I pray you find peace and that your family and friends will live with as much peace and joy as possible.
Mental health isn’t addressed there so it makes it even more shameful. If he had not been ashamed and had an anonymous voice to listen they might have told him that this wasn’t the end of the world. That was not worth killing himself over. Over here in the US it’s opioid addiction and yet they have free services at their disposal to use for everything from treatment and housing etc. seems like the more I know the less I know.
@@winkpinky1445 No. No. This is horrible to hear, but let's not for one second say that Korean has no mental health help. There are posters everywhere about help if you need it. He is rich and rich, and if he wanted help, he had enough money to get the best of help and to keep it quiet. I've heard that just like in my culture, asking for mental help is frawn upon, but again, the guy is learned, travelled, and rich. He could have paid for private help. I wish he could have asked because just like the commentor said, that pain, stress and mental anguish that it is felt when you make that decision and that day comes. I know all the crap that goes through your head.
My mister, how friendless you must have felt these past months....May you rest in peace now, may God grant you better life better understanding better insight next time!🙏♥️😌🙋🕉️
From what you are saying and others, it seems like he was a target from the start. Who’s to say he wasn’t drugged first and then things got out of hand as time went on. We are all human and have made mistakes. He needs justice! That woman and her co-conspirators need to be held accountable. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. This is so sad.
It's horrible that a bad personal situation leads to this. I really hope that the korean view of celebrity scandals and how they are treated by the public/netizens, media, and police change at some point soon. They are people, too, after all. Thanks, Sean. 💜☮️
I am so glad you did this analysis. I have been alarmed for some time about how high profile and rising stars (and at times overworked and oversexualised, especially girls) are now set up, blackmailed, pressured, judged harshly, criticied cruelly - often by media - and some die. Korea might want to face this head on.
The irreparable collateral damage caused to his life was unbelievable. Losing jobs, possible contract breach fines and don't mention his family and friends. It was probably so unbearable
I am heart broken, this is so painful. He was bullied to suicide. Korean culture is taking a toll in its population. I'm so sad, I'm praying for his family and friends to find solace. And hope he is in a place where compassion, empathy and love will welcome him.
So tragic. I loved him and his talent. I’m heartbroken. I hope those that betrayed him and were so intent on bringing him down live to regret it. May they pay with their own misery. I’m saddened for his family. I so wish this hadn’t happened
I ask the same question, the fans of SK act as if they own the artist and they have a say in everything they do, plus the Koreans skin is too thin , they are very sensitive, for me I couldn't careless what someone say about me as long as I don't hurt anyone intentionally, am good
As a Korean, I will say Koreans are selfish and mean in general. As someone once said , lying and cheating are in Korean DNA. Not all but a lot. They don’t have true morals.
I just want to say that this was very brilliantly done. The way you spoke the way you brought everything out you did not hide anything you allowed everyone to see the big picture. Like you said just because he had temptations like most men do does not make him, a bad person it just makes him human. I’m going to reiterate something you said about that is his wife and his family and his closest friends place to tell him to help him to guide him not the public opinion I love the way you graciously put everything down very calmly very understanding point by point, this is the way things should be done. The people that blackmailed him are responsible for his death, and they deserve to go to jail the end. Thank you for sharing your story because I truly love this actor. And I’m not giving a pass and what he did because again that’s not my place he is a human being, my love, and my prayers go out to his wife, family, children, and all his friends and fans. He will truly be missed.
"We should be shining the spotlight on the blackmailers" 100% This poor man was hounded to death. He had lost all hope. I can't even imagine how it felt to be interrogated for 19 hours by police, especially after the toxicology reports showed no drugs in his system. This man was vilified and humiliated for making poor life choices. Blackballed by the very same industry people who were making exactly the same choices he was behind closed doors. The only difference is they weren't hung out to dry..... yet! Every single person in the world has something in their life they don't want to be exposed publically. Lee Sun-kyun was no different. He was a human being, not a saint. My condolences to his family, his poor widow and children left without a husband and father. My heart breaks for them. All because of the maliciousness and greed of the blackmailers. May they be held accountable and endure the same torture as Lee Sun-kyun did in his final days. RIP My Ahjussi. From a fan since your Coffee Prince days. 💔
It is so hypocritical that pedophiles, abusers and stalkers get a slap on the wrist by the Korean jurisdiction but god forbid ppl take drugs, then they must be cancelled and ruined. Lee Sun-Kyun, may he find peace now.
He could've been like okay lol guess when u actor u got nothing else to do with your life ....your life is dead ! Surrounded by acting ...is sad , no purpose . Godless ...
@@Moodboard39 You do not seem very familiar with Korean society. He would have never found another job in the profession he trained, loved and excelled in.

There are children who won’t get to experience having their dad around, and the world won’t get to experience his talent and it’s tragic, May he rest in peace
Korean Society must practice the "innocent until proven guilty" thing and the law must focus even more heinous criminals such as rapists, child abusers and murderers . So sad and heartbreaking 💔. He may have some faults in this situation but he didn't deserve to be pushed to end his life. I hope those people involved and responsible be brought to justice. Rest easy Lee Sun-kyun ❤
In korea, actors and actresses have always been the sacrificial lamb during a political scandal to deflect the media attention. He was guilty of adultery but innocent of drug use. We will miss him

Beyond horrific, that people can so easily crucify ANYONE they feel like it, even when they really know nothing about it. Shame on them…..so saddened for his family', and for him.
No one deserves to be blackmailed or bullied into taking such drastic measures. There’s a whole little family grieving this man. I don’t care if you’re an addict, an adulterer….nothing is worth taking your own life.
Very sad. Thanks Sean for giving us a peak behind the curtain and laying out the whole story. Your series on Burning Sun was super in depth. Happy New Year everyone and here is to a safe and prosperous year ahead.
I love most of the films or dramas he played. He was a very good actor. And he had a good manner too, also a family man. Never heard any scandals before, and the allegation to him can be considered as a crime because the drugs test on him were all negative! The investigation wasnt fair, he already complained about it, several times... but police didnt listen. 😢 So saaadd :( Rest in peace, Sun Kyun ahjussi...
It’s so sad and disturbing that the Korean media and netizens still bully celebrities to their death, after so many other celebrities have been wrongfully bullied and faced the same sad end. The Korean society needs to put an end to this public shaming and bullying and cancel culture 😢
Really, a great, informative video. I understand the situation a lot better now. However, I still don’t understand how things got so bad that he ended up taking his own life. This is really a tragedy.
I wept for an hour. I am so devastated. I loved him in My Mister, I loved his acting and his voice. He didn't deserve this. 💔 I wish him eternal peace. I hope he is not in pain anymore. My heart is crying for his family.
I was shocked 😳, then SAD 😢 but now I’m ANGRY. When will KNETZ STOP 🛑 their VICIOUS ATTACKS at someone’s expense. This is so TRAGIC. I seen another blogger from S.KOREA mention that the lead investigator of the POLICE DEPARTMENT got a promotion after harassing this man. 18 hours of interrogation is ABUSIVE. Remember, WHAT GOES AROUND …COMES AROUND. I appreciate you speaking on this HORRIFIC TRAGEDY. Thank you.
Although I had never met him, I felt as though we knew each other. That Kdrama explored family relationships, friendship boundaries, and not pre-judging people. I watched this series and now it is my standard for other Kdramas. My heart just aches for his family that are left devastated. RIP.
I am so broken by his death. He was a profoundly great actor. So versatile. He had an amazing ability to bring out his character’s chemistry and personality. He will be sorely missed. What he did in his private life … I hope he made amends with his family & loved ones. But I wish he would have known that this too shall pass … but he took the finite way out! And now, we will never know what he could’ve continued to do! I’m sure he would’ve learned from this and done better. It’s so sad how much pressure Korean celebrities are put under to maintain their images. I get why … but it’s just not realistic in this day and age anymore. Everyone has their demons & secrets. Celebrities are humans. Let them date. Let them make their mistakes without having to lose their livelihoods. Give them a break. I get they are examples so the are put to a higher standard but Koreans need to stop crucifying them for being human and making mistakes. What happens in his private life should he left PRIVATE! People love watching other people fail … stop 🛑 be kind! If one person just gave him some hope … I don’t think he would’ve made this choice! Be supportive. Be kind!!!! I can’t emphasize that enough!!! You never know what a person is going through. 😢 I’m so disappointed in all the people and companies that dropped him so quickly before he was even found guilty. Stop crucifying people!!! I wish more companies would have a backbone… and not succumb to cancel culture. Give people a chance to stand up & prove themselves!!!!!! He was a gifted actor. Gone way too soon! 😢
I honestly am in absolute shock and disbelief! I was really hoping he would be able to pull through this chapter! I really hate that this happened! I didn’t watch Parasite. I saw him in the show “My Mister” with IU and I loved his role and that show and the messages behind it! I was looking forward to so much more from him and I hate that he felt pushed to come to this decision! Sad day indeed 😢
I do not care if he was sleeping with the entire female population of Seoul, he did not deserve to die alone like this. South Korea is absolutely disgusting in so many respects. It seems like such an especially horrible place for celebrities. ANYONE can make up ANYTHING at ANY moment & people just PILE on rather than actually using their OWN mind & seeing through the HYPOCRISY & LIES!! This is an absolute tragedy that should never have happened. I offer my condolences to his family & friends.
I have 3 words for you: Kim Seon Ho. talk about public persecution & trial by social media. Its so apparent that he has a gentle, kind, unselfish nature. he's prbly going to die celibate from the trauma he had to endure.
Moreover, I don't recall ANHONE EVER producing any evidence of an affair. if you're gonna blackmail someone, at least have proof. if there were pics, they would've been posted. there are none. my hunch is he thot he was at an exclusive club, introduced by his friend. was prbly just there bc he couldn't go elsewhere without attracting attn. everyone has to go n have a drink every now & then. anyway, its just a terrible, terrible terrible tragedy. the world sides with him and his poor wife.
Thanks as ever for covering this with tact, insight and level headedness. What a tragic end to a life and more pain and chaos heaped upon his family that are left behind. Let's hope people are brought to proper justice over this. May he rest in peace and blessings to his friends and family.
So will the prostitute be charged as a blackmailer? She need to go to JAIL! Put the cats in the shelter and sell the apartment. Wait, didn’t his hair test found him innocent? The first breaking news ( one eye open ) I saw was his death, that messed me up 🥲! Thank you so much for explaining the details. Be strong 💜
The "shaming" in Korea is crazy! People should remember the saying" let he without sin cast the first stone"! No one is perfect! And trying to hold celebrities to an unfair and unrealistic standard is so wrong 😥
Those who involved in this I hope you dont get sleep every night. Toxic Korea society. My sincere condolences to his family. Im so sorry fo your loss. Rest in Peace Lee Sun Kyun. God never sleeps and one day those people who harassed you and the people who canceled you will get karma.
Thank you for your insight on these issues, I really am saddened by this unfortunate situation, and my thoughts are with his family. People like this should be punished, not condoning anyone's behavior, there's so many scammers out trying to suck dry manipulate others...all that are involved in this case should be punished, and the people should not be allowed to have so much input into these artists lives. This is such a senseless tragedy 😢 gone way to soon My Mister. Blessings from the United States of America 🇺🇲
How sad. It's a shame that a lapse in judgment can totally negate the whole of a man's life. Resulting in the persecution so severe that a man takes his life. Lee Sun Hyun was worth so much more than that to all of us.
i don't live in South Korea; i'm a citizen of the U.S.; but to me, this is just a tragic example of the insanity of social media. People so quick to judge & seemingly, so happy to bring someone down. quite sad. and in this case, tragic. who is not flawed? social media addicts are living in a make-believe world, where their opinion is so important. ugh! I respected Lee Sun Kyun as an actor. & the rest of this , i ignored.
Thank you for inserting visuals in all of your videos for those of us who’ve not had the pleasure of visiting! I thank you for your unbiased voice! I’m not Korean but, you really give me great insight into Korean culture and entertainment! Not to mention your expressions are amazing and funny!
I am still so shocking and sad about this. He was one of my favorite korean actors. To be honest, while he might have tempted to do something wrong, but he was a victim of the whole thing too. We really have to look into what's wrong with the korean society.
They are really an insufferable society they ostracise people for fun and take pleasure in torturing people - I am really disappointed in that country tbh… how could they loose someone like this?! Even if someone makes a mistake how can they do this?
He didn't make that final choice, he was cornered, blackmailed and left hung out to dry! Shame on everyone who plundered this tremendously talented human being! I am so ashamed of Korean netizens, media, police and government right now😤 SHAME ON YOU😡
It really annoys me seeing the woman who was blackmailing him showing up to the police and court with her kid in her arms trying to garner sympathy. What about his kids? Feel the guilt all of you.
Very sad and absolutely disgraceful 😞 Things need to change in South Korea for good ... I dislike Gangnam It is not a very nice place with the nicest and honest people in Seoul (sorry to say). Thank you for making this video. Keep in good light. 💙 from London. J.
Yes, this was sooo unfair, everyone deserves a second oportunity and the benefit of a doubt. I pray for his family and friends in this dark moment. And agree with you in the whole situation, it always looks like this people with priviledge of money are the ones creating this cloud of smoke to cover their wrong doing, it was a blackmale setup, and he was a victim of the situation, the public , media and police never gave him an oportunity to deffend him self and protect his family. ITs a cruel situation, and we have seen to many of this cases in Sk.
I really am saddened by this...as someone who has personally gone through the mill of police interrogations and rampant media focus and rumors, I know much of what he went through. I too thought of suicide many times. It was not necessary for the police to focus on possible drug use months or years ago. But more so, it was not necessary for the information to be released to the media. He was accused of something but had not been indicted or charged. I am disturbed when media personalities and stars have their personal details revealed to the media when other people have their names and faces hidden when their crimes and charges are released. I am so worried about other people like Yoo Ah-in who are going through all of this right now.
The media trial and the venomous trolling did this. The worst part is this has happened before and will keep happening to South Korean celebrities. Nothing can protect them from the wave of online hate and vitriol from people when they are going through the toughest time in their lives.
So, the focus is taken off of the rich dairy chick by throwing celebrities under the bus. It’s especially hard since he said he was drugged without his knowledge or consent.
I feel very sorry for his wife and family. It is terribly sad that he took this action. I can't speak to his charges or his substance charges, but I feel terribly sad for those he left behind. I think the police were wrong in how the situation was handled. One of my immediate family members made the same choice and it is devastating for the people left behind. On a side note, I wonder what G-Dragon is thinking with this latest development. Very sad.
Sean, as soon as I heard of Lee Sun- Kyun's death I thought of you and your 'G-dragon says he's innocent video.' This is so sad! Why do they keep associating him with drugs, like he was some type of addict? He admitted to doing drugs once before, that doesn't mean you have a problem! I know you stated after the 19 hour interrogation, he probably felt the public was against him, but why suicide? Something very nefarious is going on!! Entertainment establishments (like Room Salons, Burning Sun and the 1% Salons) why don't the government shut them down!! I had mentioned previously that I'd hope he get his life together but I guess it became unbearable. I just don't understand! He had a wife, children and a flourishing career and this is how his story ends?!! This is wrong on every level!!! And why is the Dairy Queen, and her secret list, still walking around? That lady is surrounded by death and destruction! Yes, there were issues with his marriage but that was between them, it didn't warrant this!!! Sean, this is all so tragic! I pray that G-Dragon has a host of supportive people around him! Enough already! All of this is very suspicious!!
@sincerelyyours-sz6lg Oh..I did not follow to Kpop, so I knew nothing about him until I heard about him here or other K-pop groups. I fell for him because I also have neurogical problems, and once I saw an interview, I saw some of my issues in him. I am not saying he has epilepsy but he does look like he has some Neuro issue.
I love his smile ❤I watch coffee prince since then I like him . He doesn’t have to leave this earth so early he was so talented and sweet.I pray for his family 🙏🙏
I am so shocked and saddened by this devastating news😢😮He was one of my fave Korean actors! Truly loved him in My Mister, my number one fave KDrama ever! Will miss him😔
These holier than thou system in SKorea has to stop. Dont tell me these people have never made mistakes in their life. Whatever he is guilty of should be between him & his family. That Madam & her co-conspirators should be jailed for blackmail. The Korean netizens should stop being the judge & jury. Actors, KPop idols, etc are human beings & should be allowed to live their own lives. The entertainment industry too are at fault for putting their idols & encouraging the young fans to idolize their idols until these fans think the idols arent human & belong to them. It is so wrong.
