"We use this cloth to recycle the remains of the material when we process it (jewellery). When we work on the stone the pieces that are not used are scraped into the cloth to be used for other pieces. This way we cut losses."

"The diamonds were gathered from other older pieces and re-worked so it was an arduous task. To plan and mould it into a necklace was a process that took six weeks. The value is $20,000 US dollar. The entire process of gathering the pieces and creating the necklace took us two months."

"The Grand Bazaar is probably the most expensive land in Istanbul or maybe, probably in the world. It's a very prestigious place to rent and purchase a store. At the metre square it starts from $50,000 and it goes up to $100,000 US Dollars for a metre square. And the interesting part is that we do rent our stores with gold."

"We do have a lot of influences in our jewellery, but mainly since this is the capital of an old Ottoman empire, we do have a lot of diamonds and gold jewellery that we are making as an old tradition, and we're using the same techniques as we used to use probably a 100, 200 years ago, because jewellery techniques have not changed much, especially for handmade jewellery."

"We are now going to rake earrings and alterate the colour on them to make what we call "Old-Alaturka". After the process the tone will be closer to this one (takes it out of the package). After the stones arrive we will work on them and once we complete the polishing we can then place them into the water."
