Let me shock everyone here. Have a 80 series LC back in Pakistan. 1994 model. VX limited. Diesel. Currently at 2.7 million kilometres and still going. It’s a legend. Will never sell it.
I drive my parents’ 1999 now. We bought it in the summer of 2004 with 84k on it, and I’m about to reach 187k on it now. These cars are unbelievably amazing.
I worked at Lexus toyota , I bet you didn’t know this but the 4.7L engine was originally made to be a small aircraft engine. That’s why the engine is flawless. I have the 04 sequoia with only 136400 miles forest green, but I also have the Lexus es300 2000 and a 08 RX350 Flawless
@@Daniel-pc2ov wasn’t classified as a v8. It was the block that was considered small engine for a prop plane but it was scraped prior to the 4.7L 2000 or august 99’ tundra Mid 90’s The engine is flawless
@@Maxumized indeed. I’ve seen these engines at 380.000 and numerous utube vids where there’s r at 450,000 miles. The engines never break down so junk yards if not toyota Lexus specific don’t carry more than 2-3 in there inventory cause it’s something they rarely sell. They rather have Chevy gmc motors loll
I have a 2006 LX 470 with 238k. It is my everyday driver, plus my camping vehicle with annual trips to Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Alberta and more. I’m 71 and have own at least 20 vehicles. This is by far the BEST vehicle I have ever owned! Damn vehicle will probably outlast me!
My friend who worked at a tire shop had one come in for new tires after the owner doing a front suspension rebuild. That vehicle was a one owner as well, and had 838,000 miles on the odometer. When she asked him about it, he mentioned it was still on its original drivetrain as well.
My 2005 Land Cruiser 120 Prado diesel hit 1 million kilometers this summer. Currently sits at around 1,013,000km give or take. Engine never touched. Valve cover never opened. Turbo is original. Radiator is original. Only the transmission got rebuilt at ~800k km's, and only due to hardcore offroading and abusive situations, which it's had it's entire life! Best vehicles on the planet!
@@reviewedbytim Too bad Toyota does not make a single Diesel that meets our air pollution standards. I would be VERY happy with a 2 door Prado with manual transmission, tailgate mounted spare, steel wheels and simple 2.7 gas engine😉
Yes the land cruiser are good, but trying to buy one used in Australia for a reasonable price is difficult because the used vehicle crises has made high demand for used cars and anything Toyota high $$
I have had my 2006 in Cypress Pearl since August of 2006. My wife and I decided to place our finances in a vehicle that will take us well into retirement at the time. It now has around 497,000 miles. It has been kept in the garage since day 1. The AHC suspension system is still functioning well on the original shocks and ancillary equipment, with regular Toyota AHC fluid changes and globes being replaced at the start of the pandemic. I have used it to haul a 7,000 pound trailer occasionally and enter my vacation property through a 14% grade offroad, and the vehicle handles it just fine. Brought to the dealer for every maintenance and annual inspection, and my mechanic says if I do not sell it to him once it is decided, he will never speak to me again. All paint is original and waxed twice a year by a detail shop, as well as undercoated prior to every winter and then washed off at the start of spring. One key item I would like to share is my method of cutting in half all maintenance intervals. For example, the timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, pulleys, etc. are replaced every 50,000 miles. Full synthetic oil changes are done around every 3500 miles. Tires are replaced every 4 years regardless of tread depth. Brake fluid is flushed every 15,000 miles, and a full brake replacement, including parking brake shoes, every 40,000 miles. The oil on the dipstick does not move at all from full mark between oil changes, and this is the only vehicle I have ever owned that has never leaked any fluid. I wax the windshield once a month in order to prevent bugs from sticking and to help prevent rock chips on the original windshield. I have a lot of respecf for these vehicles, and a sentimental attachment to ours specfically, due to transporting 4 generations of our family over the years. Anyone who is reading this and considers buying a new one, think twice. They are not built like they used to be, and never will. Last summer, we drove it to Halifax from our home in Queens, while last month we drove down to Florida. I do not trust any other method of transportation as much as this vehicle to keep my family safe and comfortable on those crazy roads. Wishig everyone peaceful and enjoyable upcoming holidays
Wow! You are servicing this vehicle religiously! These vehicles are already extremely reliable but, when someone like you goes above and beyond you're going to get the results that you have. Your Lx will go 1,000,000 miles!!! I would like to see your vehicle one day! This is amazing and other Landcruiser owners would love to hear your tips on maintenance and care. Thanks for your detailed comment and thank you for watching! Hope to meet you and your Lexus one day! I wish you the best!
Very nice maintenance schedule. You do not need to change the water pump and timing belt every 50K if you are using all OEM parts and changing the tensioners and pulleys every time. it is the tensioners and pulleys which wear out the timing belt. I have seen many with more than 200K on the original timing belt and waterpump. A good time to change it is around 100-120K
My GX has 336K. These are incredible trucks that can be gotten cheap now because the milage is not good. Maintenance is so easy (videos on youtube on how to do everything yourself) that even though the milage is about 15mph, you don't really have other costs. The build quality if way beyond everything else out there.
Bought my 02 LC for $6800 w/314k miles. Runs perfect, but had to replace the front shocks, sway bar bushings and end links, upper control arms, tie rod ends, and one axle; but thanks to RU-vid, I did it all myself and only spent under $1k in parts. Also had a shop replace the power steering rack that cost $1k with an oem rack included. Now the thing rides perfect and I’m sure I could easily get another 300k miles on it.
Agreed. It's kind of sad seeing people abuse such great vehicles because there's so many others that would take that same vehicle and maintenance it the way it should.
My 1999 100 series Land Cruiser isn’t too far behind! She’s my daily and I’m currently sitting at 402K Miles. For some reason, I love this old LC more than any other vehicle I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a car or two in my lifetime! Love your channel!
Thank you so much for the kind words KRT! And congrats on your 100 series! Those are super smooth and will last forever! Happy Holidays & Thanks for watching!
I have 493 thousand on my 1999 LC, purchased used in 2002 with 60 thousand. Mostly high way miles. Buttery smooth engine. I continue to get offers to buy it, but it will be with me to the end.
What a beautiful piece of engineering. An amazing vehicle and maintained exceptionally. We love to see these land cruisers in this condition. Great video!
Brother i'm guessing you are new to this. Because no way you haven't got 100k subs. The way you present and the reviews are top notch. Keep up the good work man. Wishing you all the best ❤️
So awesome to see a guy who loves these as much as I do..I'm to the point where I own 3 of these 1 gx 1 lx and 1 tundra all same chassis engine..doing awesome job on videos Bud keep it up..
Man, that makes me feel so good. I'm new to this but I plan to keep getting better and better. I want to make sure that you guys are getting the info that is useful without all the fluff. Thanks for watching and again.. thanks for your encouraging words!
That is what you call the king of the road. The 2UZ-FE is what other car makers can only dream of making. It’s sad to see all of this reliability get destroyed with todays cars. Even Lexus is being forced to make crap. Awesome video man!
What a gem. Wow! I owned one and sold it after the values skyrocketed post-covid. Now I own an Isuzu Rodeo and man, these old cars are just built different. Zero problems.
418k on my 03 sequoia. Such a nice vehicle. I think they’re a bit below a low trim Lexus from the same era. I’ve seen one cross over 600k. Rides the same as mine. All of these v8 lexus/toyota trucks are pretty amazing.
Thank you so much for the kind words Omen! I'm still learning more on how to make these videos better! Your kind words won't be forgotten! Thanks for watching!
Barely hitting 178K miles on my 2003 GX470 and just bought some oem timing belt kit and valve cover gasket. Sure the 2UZ burns fuel but its easy to maintain and rock solid.
You're going to get one soon Kuya! When you do get one, take care of it and it will take care of you! It's one of the best vehicles you can ever own! Cheers!
This makes me so sad that my 2000 is rotted out. But it has lived 22 years in New England and the previous over wasn’t a sticker with undercoating or car washes. Even with the rust however, everything is original with the exception of CV axles and the alternator which just recently went out at 230,000 miles. I hope to have another one some day!
Man.. that's sad to hear. Congrats on being able to own one. Many people would still take one that rusted out and love it to it's death. We're blessed. Drive it until it falls apart haha
I owned a 2000 Land Cruiser. Bought it with 59K. traded it in at 130K, Biggest car regret was getting rid of it. The car had all the records and the only thing that was done was new brake pads and tires. At 129K the original rotors were still good. Oh and the tape deck was broken which I didn't know until my wife tried to use it. These cars don't even need to be garage kept. Just wash it with an undercarriage wash and change the oil and timing belt changes. I recently purchased new 2022 4runner. There was a trade in going on at the same time. 890K on a 1991 4runner. They gave the guy 2K for it. The older gentleman had to rebuild the transmission once and normal maintenance. It was unbelievable. I went from Toyota to Land rovers( which included a lemon law lawsuit) . As I age my wisdom increases and I have gone back to Toyota. I try to explain to people the difference between going to a Land Rover service center and a Toyota service center. You have to wait in line to check your car into a Land Rover. Like waiting in line to go to the club. The customers are dressed the same also. ;)
HAHAHA You've learned! Congrats on the new 4runner bro! I love those! That's wild that you had a 91' 4runner with 890k!!! And lastly, you're right.. you don't have to garbage these babies! They can take the weather! Thanks for watching Bruce! And thanks for sharing you car experience with the channel!
I have an 05 land cruiser , green over tan. Just about to cross over 300,000. Parents bought it new and drove me too school in it every day! I learned to drive on that truck. Gonna keep it forever! My daily is a 2005 Lexus ES330 sedan and TODAY I crossed 299,000 miles. Will hit 300k this week! Best cars ever made. 😊 Wait the rear vent is rare? I don’t think on so. Mine has it. I valet cars and every LX/land cruiser I’ve gotten in has it. Pretty sure it’s standard no?
Congrats on the 05' Land Cruiser! Beautiful color choice! The ES330 great daily as well! I've had 3 Lx470's and none of them had the electronic vents besides my white one! But, I am starting to see them more and more. Maybe the one's I was purchasing were the lower packaged models lol.. Congrats again! And, thanks for watching!
I’m the 2nd owner of a 2002 Lexus ES300, now with 172k miles, bought it in April 2021 w 160k miles. Rides like new, not even 1 creak or rattle. Everything still works. There is one on RU-vid posted nearly 4 years ago with 590k highway miles. Original engine and transmission Nothing beats Lexus quality, reliability and craftsmanship
You got that right Stephen! First of all, congrats on being a happy Lexus owner! You have something that's going to last for a long time to come while also having good power, fuel efficiency and luxury! Thanks for watching! That car isn't going to leave you stranded!
@@reviewedbytim yes 🙌. I installed 4 new struts last year (rear ones were Leaking) , replaced the original OEM alternator, OEM AC compressor (started squealing) also. All replaced with GENCO. This March replaced the original OEM starter, also w GENCO. Now I’m set! 20 year old OEM parts just shows the durability and quality of Toyota parts. I change my synthetic oil every 5k miles. Best is I checked my oil after 3,700 miles and I haven’t burnt any oil. Love it ! I’m 58 and this will last me at least until I retire at 65. I plan on keeping it for 10+ years!!
You got that right. Pretty hard to come across! I didn't see any signs of the engine or transmission failing.. if they keep up the maintenance it should last quite a bit longer!
Great video. Got 300K on my 03 LX. This video really put things into perspective…I always look for newer/lower mileage options. It’s a waste of money. I’ll keep mine.
I've got a black 2006 LX470. I love it and hope to have it for a long long time. I'm in the military so it's great to have a reliable vehicle to travel with
That's a good year you have there! You stay on top of the maintenance and it'll nearly outlast you! Thank you for your service and thanks for watching!
I’ve put 100k miles on my 04, just traded an Acura MDX for a 13 LX570 with 90k. Both start and drive like brand new cars, cost of ownership is cheaper than a Kia. Just can’t beat ‘em.
I haven't had a break down in over 40 years because I only drive Land Cruisers. MPG is not good, but you save plenty of money in the long run by not having to replace parts.
That's a fact! Some people complain about the fuel mileage but we're not buying these because of that. It's very hard to find a vehicle that has the same quality/size/reliability with better fuel mileage than these! Congrats on yours! Thanks for watching as well!
I just sold my 2000 LX470 with 365,000 miles on it. It was my everyday driver. I replaced the whole AC system ( I live in TX) so it was used year-round but no other major repair issues. I did the scheduled maintenance as per Lexus's suggestions as well as replaced the timing belt and water pump at every 100,000 intervals. I have 2010 LX570 with 180,000 miles on it with more creature comforts and I wish I had my LX 470 back. It was been the best car I have owned and I have owned and I have had other high-end cars. My son just got a 2001 LX470 and he loves it.
Shelby that awesome to hear! You definitely got your money's worth with your 2000 LX! Great job on grabbing the 570! I myself am looking for one to add to my garage too! Good for your son as well! Man, you have a tasteful family lol Thanks for watching!
Land Cruiser is my dream suv cuz when you buy it new, you are guaranteed of basic life of 25 years to last or more, I’m buying the LC 200 this year and I love the power of v8 ❤
I have a Toyota Land Cruiser 100, 2001. with 314 000 miles on the clock (506 500 km) and I love every bit of it. It is the same color as this one, 50th Anniversary edition. We didn't have Lexus here in Croatia, and even 100 is very rare. And it is a 4.2 turbo Diesel inline six engine (1HD-FTE ), with 150 kW (204 hp). It sounds excellent and it drives excellent.
Looks like I am about to be the owner of this gem! Working out transportation details. Thanks to your amazing review, I feel confident buying this truck sight unseen and saving myself a 13 hr round trip. Thanks my guy and stay in touch!
Chevy Suburbans normally exceed 350,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. A driver who was texting crashed in to my last Suburban at 364,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. My current Suburban just passed 320,000 on the original motor and transmission and still drives like new. Tires, batteries and regular oil changes. My current Suburban did require a new water pump.
What year is your suburban? I had a 2001 Tahoe 4x4 and a 2001 Suburban 4x4 as well. I can you tell you that the 4l60e transmission will not make it on its own to 150k miles. Unless you really drive it carefully. There's stories of guys that threw a small cam in their 5.3's and would ruin the transmission on the first pull. Now if you have a 4l80 you're good for a long time! Also John, I've learned that Chevy's are built a bit cheaper .... they will squeak on the inside and the buttons will fade for sure. The suspension can get sloppy if not maintained super will. I was a chevy guys for most of my life. Still am in a way.
@@reviewedbytim the 5.3 is not my favorite engine. That's why I replaced my 1994 with a 1995 rather than a newer Suburban. I personally know people who have driven their 4160e equipped trucks well over 200,000 miles including regular towing. I do prefer the 4L60e in my Suburban.
I crave my 2002 Lexus LX470. Imported to europe from US. Very rare vehicle here. Exactly the same color as in this video. Runs on LPG with a 120l underbody tank. 180k miles. Legendary engine. Heavily upgraded for overlanding. 35’ BFG AT. Terrain Tamer lockers. This truck is unstoppable offroad. No leaking. Never filled up oil. Best truck I ever had. They have to pull the keys from my dead hands.
Whoa! Man you're doing it right! It's crazy how much people love these! But it all makes sense when you realize that you really can't get another vehicle with the build quality like these! Congrats on your awesome build!
I was thinking paying tax in a different country like Bulgaria where is low tax because If i pay in here is like over 2k $ a years so is not worth it@@Lordoftheflatbush

@@hedge313 interesting - ours is similar but unmolested in anyway (no undercoat, added wiring, etc.). It also is a one owner car (my Mom). I've replaced the tires and rims and removed the running boards (still have them). Maybe we'll list it.
our lx470 is 670km which is just a little under that. no engine repairs, no suspension work ect. just servicing and on australian highways its whole life. we calculated the fuel cost and its almost 350k aud through its lifetime
I own the copy of this lx470 , 2001 , from the US , and its still in good condition. Rebuild engine last year , all the rest in good shape. Greets from Altai, Siberia :)
I have a 1993 Ford ranger 2.3l 5sp 2wd with 499,980 miles as of today with the original engine transmission and rear end! I daily it to work. Also rust free. No tics taps or raps and it doesn't use or leak oil! Only issue is the damn hydraulic clutch, I'm on about number 4-5 !?!? Meticulous oil changes 3000-3500 miles and I undercoat it with the used oil once a year with an actual paint brush, effective!
Wow! Now me and you both know the reason why your vehicle has last so long is because of YOU. The owner. You take care of that thing and it’s going to take care of you! Congrats!
My das has an Lx 470 1998, with 400K miles which runs amazing till this days only thing that doesn’t work is the folding mirrors and the front headlight sprinklers, it’s not major stuff it can be fixed any day but as long as it drives he’s happy and let me tell you it drives like a dream honestly. These cars are amazing.
Wow! Congrats on your LX. And I agree with you. That other stuff can get fixed at any moment. But as long as you take care of the drivetrain then you're good to go!
@@reviewedbytim yes, amazing videos btw I watched both. Very clean shooting, editing, transparency, articulation and overall details of everything keep it up bro ❤️

Great shape. Only 207k on our 04 Sequoia- I test drove a wonderfully well kept 350k 99 Land Cruiser last year and looked at at 395k 06 LC100 that was in the area (but had rear frame rust). Would've bought the 99 but the Sequoia was mint and cost $1500 less!
You did good! Smart man avoid the rust. Some people don't care but rust is cancer! Sequoias are tanks! You're going to get another 300k out of it if you maintain it right!
I bought 3 Iveco daily trucks in 2004, for towing trailers long distance at 7 tons GTW. The one I used did 1,200,000 miles and was still going well when it was stolen. It had a gearbox a 900,000 and an engine rebuild at 1.1 million. The only reason we took the engine apart was that it smoked at idle - valve stem seals. So it just had std rings, bearings, valve grind, gaskets and seals and was back in use. I had a lexus LS400 too, 350,000 when sold.
John.. that's insane! You must have took really good care of the and performed the proper maintenance that these cars needed to survive! You know how to make them last! Also, thanks for watching! It really does mean a lot!
@@reviewedbytim I think the keys are never miss a service, preheat the engine, and don't rev the guts out of it. The other two did well, too, one sold at 830,000 and the other crashed at 530,000. My insurance company tried to pay me scrap money for the stolen one, saying it must be knackered, but I pointed out that a vehicle will be knackered at 100,000 miles if it's not looked after, but to keep it going reliably it has to be pretty well perfect all through its life. Now I run a Sprinter which shows no signs of age at 360,000. Like your channel, by the way, talking to you from Britain.
@@reviewedbytim my uncle used it for airport taxi for 8 year's,then sold it to his freind who used did for airport taxi . 5 year's later he brought it back with 886,000 on the clock. In total it must have done over a million miles, he used it for the same job . I think it was a petrol model because he was angry at a family member for driving it on 2 cylinders with the spark leads off .
I'm 75, my 2002 LX470 has only 69K miles. I suppose this vehicle will last beyond my years. Maybe I should bequest it in my Will 🙂 Yes, these are well built to high standards. Mine has always been garaged, still pristine if 21 years old now and no rust. It lacks the technology gizmos on newer vehicles but I like it this way where you drive it "old school" without all those nanny controls. Lexus and Toyota certainly do make outstanding vehicles.
Wow congrats! If you ever want to sell it please let me know! And you're right... you don't need all those new gizmos and gazmos. Not having all that stuff is kind of relaxing... not too many things to distract you. Cheers!
My uncle have a 2015 lx570 He drove it from 2015 to 2021 And put almost 900k kelometrrs on it!! Insane..same engine same gearbox He replaced it with a 2023 lx600 Because he needs those type of vehicles for his job on the oil fields..
You got a good one Brendan! You take care that thing and it'll last a super long time! I personally love the 4runners... they look good.. drive good.. and will last forever! Cheers!
It's so cool to see that this is really a world class vehicle. And yeah.. keeping them in really good shape can be hard to do in other countries! They use them for purpose. Like they should!
I have a 2007 Toyota 4Runner, with 280,000 miles on the body and frame, and 178,000 miles on the engine and transmission. Previous owner did a lot of things to the car, messing around in it and replacing/swapping things, (heck even the seats went from cloth to leather!) that I think it's lost some of it's reliability. Beautiful truck and drives great, just a ton of small things that drives me absolutely nuts. For example: rattling cats, poor fuel economy due to the broken catalytic converters, non-functional or even barely weak parking brake, check engine, VSC, TRAC, TPMS lights on, no spare due to aftermarket wheels, rattling driver side mirror, spray painted rear driver side door card, (only god knows why the previous owner thought that was a good idea)
Yeah someone probably abused the crap out of it. Many people get in a car when it's cold and sitting all night... start it up.. and nearly floor it out of the driveway before it can even get the oil warm. That is usually what happens when you find a car with low mileage and it already needs both engine and transmission. As far as the VSC, TRAC, TPMS lights go.. that might all go off if you change the wheel speed sensor. They're all work together. Fix those cats! It's make the car run sooo much better. Tighten that brake cable or replace the pads.. GET this thing back to what it deserves. You have a NICE 4runner that man people would kill for! Congrats on that!
@@donc6781 I know the backstory but it's a long one. Long story short, previous owner was a mechanic and swapped a dealer shipped maintained 4runner with a bent frame (so it was totalled) with a high mialge zero rust 4runner (same generation ofc) to make one really nice 4Runner. I just am not so sure on some of his interior and other skills... (I checked the carfax history and the VINS on the engine which matched the seller's story.)
He fucked it up. I wouldn't buy a car from someone who modified it. That why I don't mod the interior of my car or add aftermarket suspension, or coil over or whatever. That me losing it reliability.
Wow! It's a an honor to have viewers all around the world! I'm new to this and I have a lot to learn! Thank you for your kind words! It really does mean a lot!
