A few episodes ago I met a guy from the Hmong Hill Tribe here in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand. He showed me his newly opened coffee shop & café where he sells his own claypot coffee. I never heard about claypot coffee before and I really like to discover stories of entrepreneurs here in Thailand & southeast Asia in general. So, I had to visit him again to find out more. This time he showed me his invention, the claypot coffee roaster and explained about his coffee and he even showed us around his hmong hill tribe village.

That's very kind of you to promote his coffee business in your channel, his project involving using the earnings from the coffee business this month to buy necessities for the children in the village is most commendable. The coffee roasting process using claypot fix to a motorized rotator that he built is innovative and very interesting, admired his entrepreneurship spirit. Would like to try his coffee too. The hut that he built for the coffee shop also looks unique.

I am married with a lovely Thai lady from ChiangKhan and looking forward to transform her inherited land in a paradise garden. Coffee is on my list even although not sure how easy is to grow on lower altitude. Definitely I am interested to try their coffee.

Oh I would surely like to try this coffee! I have an old fashioned dutch coffee grinder wich I use for special coffee beans. Very informative vlog Ken, specially because of your support for local entrepeneurs! I'm gonna visit his facebook page for sure and hopefully order some of his products. Guten abend Herr Ken, Thank you for doing the video on the clay pot roasting machine! It seems a very laborious process. However, IMHO, I'm not convinced that this method of roasting makes the coffee taste better. I think the difference is in the type of coffee bean being used! But what do I know? Here in Spore, we do cook many types of food with a claypot as it will add flavours to the food like rice, chicken, pork etc etc. I can imagine the organic coffee beans roasted in a claypot with natural fire will enhance the flavour of the coffee beans. Nice spot for viewing natural gem view while curious with local product nearby. It seems to be interesting road less taken point of view and discover product. Would be interesting to try out such coffee from region where common people unaware off up until now. Good exposure and all the best with more endeavour.
