Great video but that little fur toy with the flapping ear just looked wrong being thrown into the hopper. Great close up shots of the RL. I was surprised that they took the whole pile.
We have them too. The Leach 2RII is probably the most common and well know.n You tend to only see them in the bigger cities though. That truck looks like it's based off the Leach design. We have to have much bigger trucks these days because we throw out so much more. A couple of generations ago, half that stuff there wouldn't even be in the trash. It would be passed down, reused or repaired. Of course stuff was better made in the old days too. I'll bet that guy with the grey beard could tell you about the era when trucks were much smaller, of a different design and collections like that just not common. Heck, even I'm old enough to remember that we didn't have compacting bulk collection when I was a kid. Bulk collection was maybe once or twice a year and a box truck with an open top went around. One worker stood in the truck and one or two others picked up the stuff to hand to the guy in the truck. There was no compactor. My parents never threw away a couch. We always got them upholstered. Does anyone do that anymore?
Nice clip! But could you try to hold the cam a little more steady on the crushing action next time? Is really nice, but sometimes hard to follow. Maybe a small tripod would help? Anyway thanks for sharing!
