Too bad you didn't include anything about Jean Street Shipyard, which has been in operation on the Hillsborough River since 1843

I just moved into The Element a month ago. A skyscraper on the river in downtown Tampa. I always thought I hated the area. It is a city and there's a lot of things that come with living in a city. Drugs, homeless, prostitution ect.. but now that I've been here for a month, I can confidently say that I've been converted. I love this place. So much so, that I'm looking up videos about the areas history. Tampa has been really good to us. I love it here. The historical buildings, the fine dining, beautiful site seeing, attractions and it's lovely, diverse and unique culture. The view from our apartment is gorgeous. I only today realized that we can barely see Bucsh Gardens off in the distance from our balcony. We live on the 26th floor and half of our apartment is windows. I highly recommend that you give it a chance. There's something for everyone here. I am delightfully surprised how great Tampa really is.

Thanks for looking out. I wish we could send representatives out in to the communities to teach the kids this video and instill some town pride and knowledge. Most adults don't seem to give a shit about this place and it kinda sucks and shows their priorities are

I grew up in Tampa, on Davis Is. Used to swim on the beach at the ols sea plane basin, the water was as clean and clear as Clearwater Bch. then and my neighbor Bill and I used to fill a wash tub with blue crabs and build a bonfire and crack crabs with a pound of melted butter and crack crabs with all our neighbors. The fishing also was exceptional in those days where sports reporter Salty Sal would report on the biggest catches where they where often diplayed on Bayshore across from Davis Is. along with Capt. BUD Foster. Wheddon Is at those days was only accessable by a railroad bridge and now is a high end residential Is. Ybor City is where my mom shopped in those days and there were many retail shops along the ave. There was an old cuban man who sold the best devilled crabs from a wooden box on the front of his bicycle. Growing up in Tampa has been a wonderful experience although it has become alot more populated these days.
