I'm enjoying this so much. I love The Hinsons and especially Kenny. He is missed, but one day we will all see them in Heaven. Thank you for posting this song. God Bless You, Gwen
I was a Teen aged High School Musician and Played Drums for a Gospel group during this time. I spent many a mile on a Bus full of excitement wondering what God was going to do next. It was Great thank you Lord for a firm foundation of awesome memories. There were many Such groups such as; The Kinsmen, Rambo's, Inspirations, Hemphill's, Goodman's.... I do love this old music. If you can just listen long enough you will be rested, empowered and released to do good works. This is a life long race. One day at a time. Fifty Eight Now and still drumming for my Lord.
I have just read your comment, and I'm inspired, now at 73, and pastoring a small church, down since the pandemic, running about 28-30 on a given Sunday. But, I was like you were, I was 16, and in the summer, I travelled with a gospel group, we lived in a double-wide, held tent revivals and I played rhythm guitar and sang some harmony, we had three preachers in our group so the Gospel message was always presented to the congregations we had. God bless you, keep up the good work. Someday, maybe we will be part of a heavenly band, making music, I don't know, but I do know the best is yet to come.
