The Alberto mansion is an important part of history of Biñan, Laguna and the Philippines as a whole. It was originally owned by Don Lorenzo Alonso de Alberto, father of Teodora Alonso, mother of Dr. Jose Rizal. It became the residence of Lorenzo's son, Jose Maria Alberto.
In 2009, the mansion faced the threat demolition but the city government of Biñán, Laguna won the case and secured the its ownership.
The mansion was a witness to major events in Biñán as well as in the lives of the Alberto and Rizal families.
