A life mask to recreate Lincoln's face? The amount of work and detail Disney put into the animatronic is pretty amazing.

Grew up in SoCal and went to Disneyland a lot in the 70s-80s. The "Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln" exhibit is where you would head if you needed a place to sit down for a while and get out of the heat (The Tiki Room, the Mark Twain/Columbia, and the Golden Horseshoe Revue were also good when you were tired, though those almost always had lines or a wait-time. "Mr. Lincoln" was usually sparsely attended and you could walk right into the ride building, where they had early Disney cartoons to watch before the doors opened for the show). The Lincoln audioanimatronic was simultaneously fascinating and a bit creepy; I reckon it was my first exposure to the "uncanny valley", and maybe even one of the beginning points of that phenomenon. I grew up in Southern California, and had visited Disneyland often. I was enthralled by the Animatronic President Lincoln, and had seen the show several times. It was always fascinating.

I went to Disneyland when I was 10 years old in 1969. My dad and I loved the Abraham Lincoln exhibit. Thanks for posting this.

If it wasn't for the great success of this attraction i have a feeling that Disney's audio animatronics wouldn't be what they are today. I didn't take the time to see it when i went to Disneyland for the first time 3 years ago but if i ever make it back there some day then i'll definitely check it out to get a slice of some good old Disney history.

Could somebody explain the worlds fair to me please? I just dont understand why nobody talks about (or even if they run) worlds fairs in this day and age. It just seems that the only reason people talk about the worlds fair is because of what disney did and they held it in paris once
