This...came out of left field, and they haven't even done the first few Potential History GuP episodes

I am genuinely curious what the obsession is with starting with videos midway into a series instead of just starting at the beginning.

While I predicted that there would be a potential history reaction video someday on this channel. I never would have thought you guys would do this video. Still a great video though and yea I agree with other commenter, Kit would definitely love this. Considering we know he watch anime and know a lot about military equipment. Great reaction video as always guys.

6:06 Well... in universe the explanation is that these tanks are using special armour and training rounds of some kind, so nobody ever dies. It's basically like paintball as a sort of curricular/extra-curricular sport, much like how kendo and archery are somewhat common school club activities in current day real life Japan.

11:47 Quite right on that one. Aside from the maintenance and upkeep of the tanks and ammunition, there's also hefty insurance fees that need to be paid in some cases. Matches take place all over Japan, and in urban matches, those are actual cities that people live in, evacuated to safe zones ahead of time. Businesses and houses can be destroyed during matches, and the organization pays out to cover the damages. Then again, football teams will shell out a sign-on bonus in the tens of millions for a guy whose primary talent is running down a field with a ball really fast, so maybe the money involved isn't so ridiculous.

The show takes place in the future, so all the tank interiors are reinforced with special future carbon coating stuff..... that's why no one dies.

Wow, now this is beyond random, but I can't say I dislike it. GuP is my favorite anime of all time, so I can't wait to see more reactions to these videos, hopefully. Edit: This was probably the worst combination of reactors/videos, but I can't deny her confusion was pretty funny.

6:06 that Depends on Gun Caliber and Shell Type and where the General affected area is, once a Shell Hits the affected armorshell splits into multiple fragments that can either damage major internal components of the Tank or the Crew the crew can get Grazed, Wounded or Die if the shell has very good fragmentation

There is a video called "Girls Und Panzer is Insane Nonsense" by Lolifiend that talks about the plot and some random moments rather than the historical factors.

To describe this world, imagine a futuristic utopian world with advanced tech, so advanced that this sort of destruction is nothing more than a game of sport...but everyone are *really* into retro so instead of teenagers piloting Gundam we have teenagers piloting old fashioned tanks. And yes, the tanks *look* like regular tanks, but they are essentially as tough as Gundam with their futuristic sci-fi metal.

Why recommended her videos like these without easing them into it first yikes to that person who suggested it.

Well, Rachel's right about how expensive the tank matches in the series are. Like, ridiculously prohibitively expensive even for an academic body/organization. Not to mention how to convince (other than propaganda) parents and their kids that it's a sport to participate in

People don't worry about property damage but actually welcome it do to insurance. The crews don't die from their tanks being destroyed and the only time they worry about dying is if their tank falls into a river for example.

I'm still so amazed by people watching girls and panzer of all things and still acting like they don't like anime. Yet another reason to never go near that community of lunatics.
