Donad IS the greatest Disney character, he's the reason Mickey got his design change for "Fantasia," almost went out of buisness several times, and had 41 more films than Mickey.
He got his own cartoons... He got his own movies... He even got a Fantasia segment, which is the most emotional scene in the whole damn movie! I love Donald. :)
Donald Duck is my favorite Disney character, and personally I find his cartoons to be the funniest of all the classic Disney cartoons of the 1930s-1950s.
Donald Duck was created at Walt Disney Productions in 1934, and made his first appearance on 9 June, which marks his birthday. He's now 86 years old, and Donald Duck Day is celebrated every 9 June. Jun 9, 2020 Source: The Scotsman
dewbs815 I never seen 3 Caballeros before but I heard that it was great especially with that Brazilian Parrot with the cigar on his beak (I saw him in House Of Mouse).
A statement I read somewhere a while back pretty well sums up why Donald Duck is so popular: Mickey Mouse is the character we all aspire to, but Donald Duck is the character we all relate to!
2:50 However in 1943 Der Fuehrer's Face was awarded an Oscar, the only Donald Duck film to do so, and in 1984, for his 50th birthday and in honour of his wartime service, Donald Duck was simultaneously promoted to the rank of sergeant and discharged from service. Source: HeadStuff
The Voice of the angry duck in sailor uniform Donald was done by Clarence "Ducky" Nash. after Nash's death in 1985, the current voice of Donald is int the hands of an employee at the disney animation department, Tony Anselmo.
I always been more of a fan of Donald then Mickey. Mickey was always so nice, and felt nothing gone wrong with him. But with Donald, he's just a volcano waiting to explode! It was always fun seeing him.
I love the Donald Duck cartoon "Donald's snowball fight" including the part where Huey, Louie and Duey shoot a rapid fire of snowballs at Donald (who's hiding behind a solid wall of ice in his snow fort that resembles a Battleship) after almost getting him Donald gets his captain hat taken off, he then yells over to his nephew's "That was not very constitutional!"
Cupocakey Fan AHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHH AHHHH I AM A DUCK AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I love Donald Duck more thanks to all the awesome comics and other characters that spawned around him like Scrooge Mcduck. In Scandinavia Donald Duck is one of the most loved of the Disney characters.
Seth Carlow Yeah, I never watch the original Duck Tails (except the movie). Since I never saw Donald in the original show, he may have a spotlight in the reboot. If that happened, maybe Scrooge and Donald are brothers.
The rounded art style and large expressive eyes. Both Donald's cast and Astro Boy himself have a similar art style. Also, much of the Donal and Scrooge McDuck comics had several Indiana Jones style adventures with elements of sci-fi
What is it with both Disney and Warner Bros. having crazy duck characters jealous of the main star? :P At least they're some of the best characters in their respective casts.
A lot is learned about Donald not only from the history books about him, but also what is gleaned from his movies and cartoons. For example, in his 1942 cartoon, Donald Gets Drafted, we learn that his full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck. 0:37 "Aw, Phooey!" is Donald Duck's favorite catchphrase. His semi-intelligible speech and sometimes grumpy nature made him the most adorable duck in the whole world. Donald's look was inspired by an American Pekin Duck. Sources: Kidadl; ReelRundown
Donald Duck was another lovable Walt Disney character-turned-patriot during the Second World War. Walt Disney Studios made several short cartoons that depict Donald Duck as a civilian soldier. When he enlisted into the army, Donald Duck had high hopes of being a pilot, but ultimately became a paratrooper. 2:34 Source: War History Online
as much a mickey was an iconic figure, i was introduced to Donald first. i was born in 1991 and during that time i watched shows like "Donald's Quack Attack" and "quack pack". great shows.
That why Clarence "Ducky" Nash is one of Walt Disney's greatest treasure. Before he passed away at 1985, he mentoring Tony Anselmo to be his successor and since then Tony does voice over Donald Duck officially.
I think still that Donald Duck is the best cartoon character ever. Because he has been in countless cartoons, movies, cameos, comic books and even appeared in Fantasia 2000, which is(along with the original)my favourite Disney movies.
Who has the sweetest disposition? One guess, that's who. Who never shows the slightest temperment? Who never gets into an argument? Who's never wrong but always right? Who never dreams of starting a fight? Who gets stuck with all the bad luck? No one but Donald Duck.
Why would Donald be jealous of Mickey? He has more cartoons, spin-offs, specials, movies, his own duck universe, created many fantastic characters in his starring role, has a parade every year on his birthday, and is more popular than Mickey in most countries. What more does he want!?!?!
Think about this. Without Donald Duck, there might not have been Astro Boy, which would have meant no Manga and no Anime. Millions owe much of their favorite shows, movies, and games to Donald Duck.
