Godzilla didn't "forget" about the Mothra egg. Before dying, Mothra flew onto the egg and successfully covered it with her wings. Godzilla didn't see the egg under Mothra so he just walked away.

In the American version of “King Kong vs Godzilla”, the Americans stated that Godzilla’s brain is the size of a marble, making him look like a dumbass. And with Mothra covering her egg with her wing and Godzilla didn’t see the egg, I guess the Americans were right that Godzilla is a dumbass.

Considering that King Ghidorah destroyed Venus sometime before "Ghidorah the three headed monster", The meteorite is definitely a form of transport.

Actually, Mothra vs. Godzilla is considered a sequel to both King Kong vs. Godzilla and the original Mothra film!

Eh, the size change of Mothra from the original to Mothra vs Godzilla makes it kind of weird and imo makes it as canon to the Showa series as King Kong Escapes is
