Hello drew I worked for Isamu noguchi in Long Island city back in 1970 he was a great man , I have one of his Akari lamps, I love it, sorry he is gone but he will never be forgotten,

Drew needs to cross the pond. I have 2 Larkin Mission style Morris chairs that were flat packed, over a 100 years ago. ;)

I love Japanese simplicity. I appreciate Scandinavian furniture, which uses farmed wood now. They make recyclable furniture that is very functional. Both worlds have their benefits. If you can find their mid century modern teak furniture, you have found an excellent investment.

I disagree. You could get most of the enjoyment from such an item if it was a good copy, and then you could spend the other £7800 on something else. I'm tempted to make one of these

@@kerrypitt9789 Yes, it's my opinion. Another advantage to making the item yourself is that you can taylor it to your specific requirements and tastes...and maybe even add your own flair. Just buying someone else's work has no satisfaction or reward, even if it is incredibly overpriced.

Ikea really gives a bad name to Scandinavian design. It's the fast food of furniture, eat it quickly and crap it out usually found on pavements the world over missing screws and generally falling apart. Better to buy something vintage for less then Ikea.
