To me last year gm was a good brand is 2004 and to me gm died when they closed Oldsmobile Pontiac Saturn and hummer Saab geo opel vauxhall and should have not closed
that's not correct , not because chevys are more than gmc on the streets , you say that “GMC basically chevy” 🤦🏻♂️ , you are stupid , GM know more than you !!actually they work side by side , but since 1970s to this day (during 1970s oil crisis in USA ) , Chevy/GMC work more together , to produce shared-platform for some of thier trucks & SUVs , almost the same vehicles and very similar to each other , due to financial difficulties of the parent company (GM) [remeber , GMC has more experience on Truck development and engineering, since early of 1900s ] that’s why they kept GMC !! so , you can say ; GMC & Chevy are based on “shared-platform” , designed and engineered by both of them , & Cadillac Escalade is basically GMC/Chevy , based on thier platform , but without helping them to design and engineer this platform .
Jae Oaktrees you are right , those stuiped people if they notice that chevys are more than GMCs on streets , they may think that GMC basically Chevy , but actually , both of GMC/Chevy are using shared-platform , wich is designed & engineered by both of them since 1970s , so, only the Cadillac Escalade the only “rebadged” ((basically GMC/Chevy)) , with different interior , exterior styling , etc ...
jdr ok you are right , those stuiped people if they notice that chevys are more than GMCs on streets , they may think that GMC basically Chevy , but actually , both of GMC/Chevy are using shared-platform , wich is designed & engineered by both of them since 1970s , so, only the Cadillac Escalade the only “rebadged” ((basically GMC/Chevy)) , with different interior , exterior styling , etc ...
If you really want to get tactical she was only talking about GM United States because there's a lot of other brands that are GM Europe GM Egypt GM Australia
ManiacBullseye 737 If what you said was true, GM would've kept Pontiac and tossed Buick. They went where the money was. So your statement is wrong. Doesn't even make sense they would do what you're suggested. Buick's sales are strong worldwide, not just in Asia. They clearly made the right move.
Eric Smith I don't disagree that Pontiac sold more than Buick in the U.S., but I do disagree that they sold more than Buick overall worldwide. That's simply not true, and if it had been, they'd have kept whichever brand made the money (and it wasn't Pontiac). Pontiac is a very American/U.S. product whereas Buick has always been a global product. Agreed, their sales here don't compare to those in Asia, but why would that make a difference to GM? Money is money, doesn't matter whether they made it here or in Asia. Pontiac wasn't able to compete with that. Neither was Oldsmobile for that matter. Thus, they got chopped and Buick stayed on, successfully.
I love the Mojo videos but they did forget the Geo brand of cars that was formed with Isuzu, Suzuki, and Toyota 1989-1997 even though the partnership started in 1985 and ended in 2004. Sprint, Spectrum, and Nova were re-badged in 1989 with the Metro, Storm, Prizm, and Tracker forming GEO.
GMC and Chevy , they work side by side , but since 1970s to this day (during 1970s oil crisis in USA ) , Chevy/GMC work more together , to produce shared-platform for some of thier trucks & SUVs , almost the same vehicles and very similar to each other , due to financial difficulties of the parent company (GM) [remeber , GMC has more experience on Truck development and engineering, since early of 1900s ] that’s why they kept GMC !! so , you can say ; GMC & Chevy are based on “shared-platform” , designed and engineered by both of them , & Cadillac Escalade is basically GMC/Chevy , based on thier platform , but without helping them to design and engineer this platform .
Matt Gamcsik saab was its own company before Gm bought %50 and started adding atom of stuff then they bought 100% and when GM filed bankruptcy they let go some of the best brands
It is insane how companies start out being amazing, but then decades later, incredibly stupid and greedy business people come in and ruin everything. General motors makes my stomach hurt . They don't seem to care or try to compete on a global scale. They put a more powerful engine in the C8 but still use the same lackluster engines in their SUV lineup. Everything including the transmission is new but the engines? The engines desperately need attention. There is the prices. Every single vehicle is overpriced and underwhelming. There is no excuse for this idiotic price scheme. Nothing in any of their vehicles are worth the money asked. Some of them out price Mercedes ... why ?
the abundance of choice when it comes to purchasing a car is overwhealming and serves to take away valuable time in a persons life. if there was one car only in each class it would so much easier same goes for brands one brand is enough. these are the changes you need to achieve in your society for the future.
we humans sure have come a long way with transportation, so much progress has been made. i look at what we've accomplished in our time, and wonder what we will accomplish more with transportation
Gm i don't no what's is going on ? whit you gays this company is been doing great cars and trucks like Pontiac, GMC, SAAB, SATURN, HUMMER, IS POSSIBLE I CAN. SEE THOS brand's soon. hopefully yeah 🙋👌
It gives me the CHILLS to see the history of American Industrial Might through the years. Now it's all over. So sad! Toyota is number ! now. Toyota has gone all in on Hybrid Tech. All electric is a joke, but Hybrids Tech seems the way to go until some smart guy invents a flywheel that can store and generate energy at the same time. I've always been a GM guy. These new cars amaze me! Not romantic like my GTO or Chevelle, but WAY more practical and safe!
Yes, but Henry Ford was such a d-head. He repeatedly mistreat his own son (Edsel), and Edsel was actually the smarter of the two. He argued that Ford needed to start innovating and moving on from the Model T, only to have both his own father and Henry Ford's thug Harry Bennett basically telling him "You are President in name only. I make the decisions!" Upon Edsel's untimely death, he was actually against the government recalling his grandson, Henry the Second, from the service to run the company. Bennett was also strongly against it ("You are a child who has done NOTHING to earn this company!!"). When Henry the Second did finally fire Bennett, he actually had death threats against him for doing so.
Yet though Pontiac outsold Buick three to one, they kept Buick where the average age for a Buick driver is 57? That is just sad, GM logic right? #PMD2014
BroccoliBeefed Tactless and Cheap? General Motors was the pinnacle of automobile manufacturing, the prestige, the gold standard; at least before the late 80's.
If you go to mid west States and you see cars out there it's still almost 3to1 maybe even more Pontiac to Buick, and Pontiac has been gone for quite a while. I hope they bring it back so they can start making gtos and transams again.
1988toyota they still own part of Allison because that brand was split in half gm helped start the two companies bought them out sold Allison's engine development and the manufacturing was sold off
General Motors are TRUELY the BEST just simply the best! From pennypinching euro Opel to high entry luxury cars like Cadillac.Nothing can beat not even Rolls Royce or shitty mercedes
Pétur Kristinsson remember the first succesful car that was sold over 1million units?????Well it maybe not because its American and its a Ford not a GM car but an American!!!!
GM claimed they had no control of the Opel Division during the war the company basically going AWOL during the war at the hands of the German Regieme then. Things were re sorted after the end of the War and GM claimed control of their division. Yet VW was too given a pass so I don't see how it matters anymore.
When GM put an end to Saab, they basically just proved to the rest of the world how terrible their cars are. GM owned Saab, and Saab kept building their cars VERY safe, which is good for them, but they were costing GM a lot of money. Instead of encouraging the build of safe, strong cars, they shut down Saab so they can save money. This is why I will NEVER drive a GM.
WWaveform Creations Saab is best though and they had to shut down the best Swedish automaker which was at its highest competing against Volvo And BMW which where going to supply Saab with their performance engines and when they sold saab and filed for bankruptcy Supercar maker köeinensegg had almost made a deal to get them out and build a better car but a Chinese company bought and now making them electric cars with no performance only a merely 175hp which is not enough I have three Saab's with maptune everything with more than 300horse they won't be the same DAMN GM YOU FUCKED UP
Chevrolet and Cadillac are only two brands very important to GM.. I think GM should focus on Chevrolet, Buck and Cadillac also definitely GMC should be defunct because GMC uses all models under Chevrolet models rebaged same sharing engines, frames, interior, exterior, and etc but only different is front fascia light and hood.
Three reasons why not buy a vehicle from GM One: vehicles with a lot of faults Twelve: Service garages are poor and do not know how to deal with malfunctions and cause a lot of damage. Three: And worst of all is customer service that does not relate to customers at all.
Does anyone remember the GM - Buick - from early 1960s that had a small compresser pumping into a tank to be fed into engine for short boost when overtaking? I saw it featured in HOT ROD.
Great don't talk about my profile pic because no one knows them Saab bought 50% of the company before buying %100 which led to the demise of Saab and its Swedish engineering
Saabrito just so they can take all the intellectual rights and patents. They did it to Holden too. Not to mention they've moved headquarters to Shanghai after taking two bailouts. What an embarrassment of a company.
i got a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina with an underside covered in rust no wonder why i prefer Ford! oh did i tell you it only has 55,000 miles!! cheap GM steal!
He is one in a million, best among many, most trusted , I almost gave up on trading then I met him through a friend, Austin is the most trusted trading expert who helped the life of my family and I ,
I love GM stuff but I will say the management was stupid in the 80s and 90s. Instead of investing money and time into Saturn and hummer junk, wasting money on direct TV. They should have invested money into olds and Pontiac.
I respect them for their amazing array of contributions over the century but anything between 1980-2000 is garbage and any vehicle after 2000 isn’t really note worthy and blends in with the crowd.
@@nandernugget I have a 93 Chevy truck with nearly 300,000 on it, same engine and tranny, I wouldn't call that junk. I also have a suburban with 270,000 mi on it. Not junk either. I wouldn't hesitate to drive both of my vehicles across country.

2:13 bull shit, how does GM claim to be bigger and more successful than Ford???? Ford wasn't just successful at making money they made a world of cars and changed people lives , ford wasn't about money it was about helping the little guy have a car that normally they'd never be able to afford
Three reasons why not buy a vehicle from GM. One: a vehicle with a lot of faults. Two: Very poor customer service. Three: Service garages do not know how to handle malfunctions and cause a lot of damage.
The picture is beautiful, but GM produces a very faulty Chevrolet, and GM's garage chain does not know how to handle malfunctions and cause great damage. Worst of all, it's customer service, under all criticism and worst
To CEO of General Motors In attention to Mrs. Mary Barra Dear Mrs. Barra, I am very sorry to tell you, with all respect, that I find out as a big part of your staff are cheating and lying during their work, as a normal standard. On top of that the Customer Service doesn’t care at all about the customers. This behaivior make me to decide to present this message to the public every day, until I will receive an appropriate answer from a serious person from GM company. The conclusion is that IS VERY DANGEROUS TO BUY A NEW CAR FROM YOUR COMPANY!!!!!!!! Daniel Alon
