Make the hostages run back on their own once the CTs reach it, but the terrorists can shoot and kill them with only a cash penalty. IMO this would balance the mode
Interestingly, something I forgot to mention in the video was that in Condition Zero, the Hostages would try to sneak away to the rescue zone if the Ts didn't stay near and guard them.
I wonder how the current landscape of gaming would deal with the assassination gamemode. I remember vividly playing as_oilrig and as_tundra as a wee kid
If they just had more hostage maps like Climb or Apollo where the hostages were far enough apart that the T's would have to split up and then maybe tweaked the T econ so that they would be pretty broke unless after several round wins I think that would be wayy more balanced
im no game designer but if i had to fix hostage mode id removed the RNG in the hostage spawns and move them to different lanes in the map and put the rescue zone in the middle of the map and instead of the rescue zone making the CTs win the round, theyd have to wait for a helicopter to arrive to take the hostages, making the gamemode more dynamic like defusal.
I still don’t understand why they made such significant changes to Italy for CS2, all of which specifically make the map more “competitive” and actively less casual. Genuinely, every single potted plant or cheesy corner to hide in is now clipped off or gone, not to mention the boost on top of apartments. New connector into long hall vastly changing how you view that lane, etc. And yet you cant even queue it in comp 5v5, only casual. Like if they had to remove Agency for whatever reason it would at least make sense for Italy to replace it. Since to me there is no point having hostage mode in comp at all if it is ONLY Office with random spawns.. I just feel like Valve must have had some plan for the future of hostage mode, but it is understandably not a priority given the overall state of CS2’s launch.
Make a same countdown as bomb planted time whenever hostages are taken. If CT is able to bring them to LZ, they win. If they're not, T will take the round. They also need to adjust the hostage spawn or possible range to implement this formula. But IMO, I think the hostage worked if we put the time as a main factor of the play.
To make the time play believable, both hostages are coated with suicide bomb jacket that whenever CT had taken them, the countdown starts ticking only stopped if they reach the LZ or exploded if CT won't make it in time
3:16 afaik its not necessary a penalty, with some guns its a bonus. For example, AWP and negev I think. It doesn't slow you down, it just sets your max speed to a specific value which could be above the generic weapon's max speed.
I have an idea just switch the roles in hostage mode Ts now attack and CTs now defend the hostages would now the like important terrorists leaders or something like that and the Ts would need to save them
Hostie maps are BEST!!! If ya don't like hostie maps, don't click on em. Just like wingman, if it doesn't appeal to ya, don't play it. 2 million players don't love the same things.
have a central building for hostages and t spawn like in r6, should be spproachable from multiple angles both long,mid and close combat viable, hostages can be shot down but big money gets deducted, 2 extract points for cts, myb add weird gimmic like cameras or doors for ts to use/open, wallbang spots ofc
I think if the hostage had to be in place for 1 minuite before being extracted would make it better as it would give the T's time to retake the hostage. There would be an issue of the terrorists just killing the hostage though.
You’re right, but VIP didn’t make it into the later releases, so I thought it was only really relevant to “old CS” and not the whole series. Whereas Hostage has stayed consistent in all games.
