Jin and Kazuya are the greatest characters in fighting games. They both have tragic stories that mirror and rival each other and each have been hero and villain in the series. And even though Kazuya's fall from grace leads to him being a truly devilish anime villain, Jin's sets up an astonishing redemption arc that could save not only himself and the world, but potentially Kazuya as well. I'm very excited to play Tekken 8. Tekken 5 was my first ever fighting game and Jin and Devil Jin were my first ever mains in the genre. As late as you are to covering Tekken leading up to the release of 8, I'm happy that you are because it will be the greatest fighting game of all time.
@@Trinioutsider34 the first game was his fall from grace dummy, we are all led to believe that he is a hero that is trying to stop his evil dad and get revenge but then he's really not good either, instead trying to take over the world
@@junk_bot_man6412 Who are you calling a dummy? How were we all led to believe he was a hero? If anyone played the first game and read the instruction manual they would already know he wasn't the hero of the game.
I like how after 3, Jin's visual motif consistently incorporates black and white into the design. Which, in a series where your first main protagonist is now the main antagonist, is ironic.
Jin Kazama was the MAIN Reason I got into the Tekken Franchise and it all started in arguably the Greatest Tekken of All Time Tekken 3 and ever since then he has always been my favorite even know they turn him bad in Tekken 6 (which I didn’t like) but I still played em cause he was just a fun character he’s kind of like the RYU of Street fighter both pretty much has the same similarities to one to another🔥🔥🔥
Its clear that while Jun wants to save Kazuya,Jin has his own agenda, that being killing Kazuya. Sort of like Tobey and Tom Holland with Goblin in No Way Home.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BI_RFk74HBE.htmlsi=jia0Qr2Kcr-JzF3M ^ | On the down low i actually made a Tekken full story gameplay vid, would love if you guys saw it
It's different than that, Jin wants to kill both himself and kazuya whilst jun wants to save both. Jin has the pressure of killing millions behind his and wants to repent for it and end the devil gene
A little mistake, in T3 it was not a draw vs hwoarang. Jin won in T3. They had a match to a draw before T3 4 years back when they first met. When they were kids. So it was a rematch in T3 which jin won.
Yes the draw was before T3 but we don't know how long before or if they actually fought each other in Tekken 3. If you're basing it off the anime it's not canon to the games story
@@thebruaI'm not even following anime. They fought before the events of Tekken 3 to a draw. Then they fought at tournament. Jin was winner. That's why hwoarang was asking for rematch for 2 years. I knew this for like over a decade and more. I followed the lore thoroughly. It's canon. In same tourney paul beat ancient ogre and left before it turned to true ogre
@afaqfakki6930 @afaqfakki6930 I'm not denying any of the other stuff, just you saying they fought in tekken 3. Can you source where this is mentioned? Hwoarang is chasing after the draw they had prior as that's a loss to him. He even says it when you beat jin in a Tekken 8 match "I won't let you off with another draw" I've also grown up following the lore, it makes no difference.
Bandai Namco made *JIN* easier to use in T8 🤯. I remember that he was hard to use in T6 & T7, i can't believe he's a 'Beginner Friendly' character now 😍
he was always a beginner friendly character. And like every beginner friendly character, he was easy to use, hard to master. He's just really strong now.
Great video, as always HBTW, Jin is definitely one of my favorite characters in the Tekken series and interesting characters in lore. It's stupid that they turn him evil/anti-hero, which it was uncharacteristic for Jin to act that way not to mention disrespectful that they did as they Lars & Alisa as the protagonist in Tekken 6 as if it was forced in the story out of nowhere (nothing against Lars and Alisa though as I like them and they're alright newcomers to the Tekken series), but I'm glad that he's the main protagonist like he always been in the series and I hope they give Jin a satisfying ending in Tekken 8.
Jin is one of my top 3 favorite characters even though he done some cruel shit in TK 6 but TK 8 seems like he is the protagonist again but I hope Kazuya can get some redemption if people can forgive Jin starting world war then they should forgive Kazuya
Jin Kazama pretty much took the World by storm and made a Huge Impact into the franchise even know they made a big gamble on how they was going to replace Kazayu as the Main Protagonist and once Jin step in not only became one of the Main Characters he pretty much Surpassed his father in popularity
A funny story about my exposure to Tekken. Tekken 3 was my first Tekken game growing up so Jin was the first protagonist character I was also exposed to. Then I went backwards to Tekken 2 and then the first game.
This reminded me of an annoyance I held towards the fighting games, the fact that they'd make awesome anime, and not those 1 & done seasons, I want a series. Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Nightstalkers, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, and so many more I can't name/remember. I enjoyed the video btw, just was reminded of that because of it.
The Mishima Bloodline reminds of something that was said in God of War, about there being a pattern of Sons fighting and killing their Fathers. I predict Jun Kazama will probably intervene before Jin has the chance to do that.
I know some fans were left disappointed with how Jin was redeemed so quickly in the end, but I think we need to see more on where the future of the franchise will go afterwards. Perhaps Jin will be prosecuted for his crimes by the start of 9 or something, but maybe out of desperation, Lars and Alisa will probably do their best to take the death penalty off the table.
Jin’s not evil he was just trying to figure out how to get rid of the devil gene. He was never taught how to mature into it. I don’t blame him for his sins. No one was able to help him solve the problem ❤❤❤❤
I'm gonna call it now. The devil gene is a genetic strand of Soul Edge from soul calibur. Tekken 8 will officially tie the franchises exclusively instead of just sharing yoshimitsu.
@@SciontheDark no, I mean like heihachi was always thought to have died only to return when the king of iron fist tournament is announced, but if his voice actor's gone... couldn't they just use his English voice actor...like in the anime!!
“Unfortunately these feelings are not reciprocated.” Obviously Tekken 8 proved this wrong, and they are reciprocated, but even before 8 I think this was rather obvious lol.
I'm really sad about this but this is some power rangers level of storytelling..... The TK4 energy is MILES away from this one... New players will forget they ever came tbh
Kazuya is a great character. Jin is a very stupid character. Good in Tekken 3 when he stfu. Tekken 4? Made zero sense. 5? Ugh. 6? Lmfao stupid. 8? stupidest character ever.
