I wanna think that Zer0 lost on purpose to make Mordecai feel better about losing Bloodwing. But that's just a theory. A Laaaaaaame Theory! Thanks for watching :)
I stopped playing the game for a while when that happend. Mordecai was my favorite vault hunter from the original game. Seeing Bloodwing die really hurt.
@@oluftheexplorer9476 I never managed to make a melee zero build, specially since I played BL2 on xbox and the melee attack is one of the thumbs stick buttons, would've been cool going full ninja with him.
I was so excited when Lilith got the massive power up in BL2, I hoped and assumed Brick and Mordecai would too. Then Bloodwing shows up as this massive beast, it put such a smile on my face I was soooo excited to see Mordecai get his epic power up!! I was a Mordecai main in BL1 after all. My hopes were so darn high in that moment! Then I died a little inside.
@@rocablade6908 we only know that he has a gender and Zer0 is not his name he does not have five fingers but four hes not Eredian we know that hes not robot but we do not know almost anything about him so he cant do that
Fun fact: on Mordecai's character sheet it actually states he's colorblind, but yet his favorite color is a certain shade of blue (can't remember the color exactly)
@Agent 47 That is true, but it doesn't go into too much detail of his condition within his character sheet, so we could only assume he doesn't see too many colors since the character sheet implies that he doesn't see them or the chance he may not be aware how colors work (If that make's any sense).
I do and I am getting friends to, why wouldn't people since Borderlands 3 ended up being a steaming pile of Dogshit that only makes me appreciate old games more?
@@alexursu4403 Yeah, people are dumb a lot of the time these days, same goes for movies and which ones people end up liking when it is a pile of shit or hating on ones that are actually good. Any single one of the older Borderlands games are objectively better than BL3. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant of the fact the old games even exist and have not played them long enough to enjoy them. If anyone likes BL3 for the updated looks and gameplay? Theres other games to play for the gameplay so they can go somewhere else, and someone who doesn't appreciate the story driven style of 3 of the older Borderlands games can go fuck a blender.
@@Zladnyl Unrelated and NSFW, but Psycho: Instructions unclear. Triggered Release the Beast. Krieg: How stupid do you have to be to take that insult seriously ?
@@Zladnyl I mean I've played all borderlands and 1 is my worst cause theres no story at all and tales and the pre sequel are tied for third for me and my second favourite is 3 cause the gameplay is better than the pre sequel and I prefer the long story of 3 than the short one of the pre sequel and the none gameplay of tales. But yes bl2 is obviously the best but I still really enjoy 3
Oh, in the side mission in 3, Tina shouts: *"Shut up Mordi Mom!"* Mordecai:"Tina! What the hell!" Which Brick replies:"Tina you shouldn't really talk to your mother like that."
One thing iv been wondering is the History of the corporations and there history through Borderlands. Particularly with S&S Munitions since they disappeared off the face of the galaxy.
S&S munitions went bankrupt soon after bandits realised they could also make "magazines" by filling boxes with bullets. S&S munitions do apparently however make the loot lights
gotta love esamir's logic : -sees a beaten mordecai on the verge of death right there for the claiming -decides the best course of action is to pretend to help him so that you could split a reward with a bunch of people that wer'ent instrested in him in the first place
in borderlands 1 in the dlc dr ned you will find the origins blood wing he found a egg and hatched it and bloodwing imprinting on him got trained easily the endangered bird is called talon which every animal activists tries to save however whenever someone tries to save talon from moredcai talon eats them in the echoes on fight for sanctuary dlc in borderlands 2 my question is what happened to all the pearl weapons I farmed with him in borderlands 1 XD
Isn’t it kinda strange that all the vault hunters from borderlands 1 became long time characters in the franchise while in Borderlands 3 Axton and Salvador are just completely ignored?
They’re not ignored. Axton became a male model. They’re pictures all over to prove this and we don’t know much about Salvador only that he was at xylourgos at the lodge and had a huge tab. You can see this on the wall to the right of the bar
They aren't completely ignored, it's more that the original Vault Hunters were already established as NPCs in Bl2 and when Bl3 came around, the writers stated that the story just didn't have enough space and that they were looking to maybe introduce those characters later through DLC (like when Gaige was brought in through guns, love & tentacles). Seeing as DLC 4 is almost certainly gonna be about Krieg and fixing his wrecked psyche, there's probably a good chance that we are gonna meet Axton and Salvador again, either in person or at least as memories.
[WALL OF TEXT INCOMING, SORRY] Don't get me wrong, I love this series of videos and I usually appreciate how in-depth and complete they are, but this one has a few misconceptions: 1. You said that Mordecai got Bloodwing after he was disqualified from the sniping competition. However, since they can be seen together in the BL1 intro, when Mordecai was still a kid, we can assume that they met way before then. 2. You mentioned how a trash feeder (Bloodwing's species) goes through a sex change "halfway through its life". That's really unlikely, since Bloodwing became female when he was approximately 20/30 years old, while Talon does so in less than 7 years. It's probably due to either environmental conditions or it's completely dependant on the individual. 3. According to the video, Moxxi left Mordecai partially due to his alcohol addiction, but I'm fairly sure that this is never stated, and I always assumed that he became an alcoholic only once Moxxi had left him. 4. You talked about how he and the rest of the BL1 Vault Hunters founded the Crimson Raiders, before TPS. However, I'm fairly sure that the Raiders were brought together by Roland as a resistance against Hyperion, only after New Haven had fallen. Otherwise, why would Hunter Hellquist not associate the town to the Crimson Raiders? You also called them Crimson Lance at 4:40. EDIT: To be fair, Hammerlock calls Helena Pierce a "lieutenant" of the Crimson Raiders, so they had to exist before New Haven fell. Still, their status as anti-Hyperion resistance puts their foundation after TPS. 5. The trap Mordecai and Bloodwing fell into was set in the Tundra Express, not the Preserve. Once Bloodwing was captured, the Hyperion forces brought her to the WEP, and thus Mordecai followed (when we meet him, he says he's been studying the situation for only half an hour, so they definitely got ambushed elsewhere). Also, I kinda wish you had mentioned that his Underdome prize was stolen by Carson and later left to the BL2 vault hunters. With that said, I hope you keep up the good work and cover the rest of the Borderlands cast, the lore of this franchise is far from being appreciated by as many as it deserves, and I'm grateful for narrative-based content like this.
@@fl1pst3r54 I wasn't 100% sure so I checked again and no, she only mentions that he got wasted once she dumped him, and doesn't talk about his addiction.
@@an_arbitrary_firefly1750 based on the dialogue, I think that Moxxi left him for Jack because not only is Jack... well Jack. But she said that Mordecai was more attentive to Bloodwing than Moxxi.
Well, the comics have been repeatedly confirmed as canonical by official sources (despite being utterly ignored by the games), while I'm pretty sure the novels aren't canonical at all. Despite that, I really love them and I agree with you. John Shirley basically "fixed" Anthony Burch's Mordecai, and he wouldn't be my favorite Borderlands character without the books. (Also the second book is literally BL3's story but good, and they might have taken the idea of Carnivora from the Crusher in Gunsight).
I'm calling it now- The next big death we'll see, either he goes down swinging, or a great sacrificial moment to spur the next plot to finish the Watcher's "War"... Mordecai dies to help Brick and Tina. It'll be super emotional, and Tina will absolutely lose her shit and blow up everybody they were fighting. After Brick comes to terms with the loss of Mordecai and helps Tina calm down a bit, they both adopt a 'bird' each, with Brick taking Talon's hatchling, and Tina with Talon. (Because Tina has pet experience, and the new hatchling would force Brick to be careful, which we know he CAN be, but it's difficult.)
It's sad that this doesn't have 2.5k comments your a awsome RU-vidr. (Scuse my french)I could have the most sh*ttiest day and you make it better all the time
Bloodwing didn't change sex. They just wanted mordecai to have a faux 'relationship' with bloodwing in the second game, and didn't want to make it seem gay.
Mordecai and zer0 are some nice cool characters. One is an sharpshootin' bullseye expert and the other is more of an deadly stealthy up close combat assassin Brick and Salvador would have been BBBF (BEST BLOOD BERSERKING FRIENDS) Roland and Axton wouldn't get along And ofcourse Lilith and Maya are the siren powa
Is the borderlands comic book series still going? I never even knew there was a series so I will have to check it out. Great Video and I really enjoy your character history series. Mordecai was my Go to character in BL1, and one of the saddest moments in my gaming history is when Blood Wing dies in BL2.
