alexwolfycat oh my God, I KNOW! I can relate to so much of their music on a personal level, so there's always a song that hits me in the feels whether I'm happy, sad or indifferent. Fucking love Muse, man.
+SteventheThorn - He is amazing. Saw Muse live in 2010. Matt was amazing - so much energy, I was tired just watching him give it all on stage. They were so big in Europe and Asia before they became big here in the US. What a shame Maverick records asked Matt to remove his falsettos from the album prior to the US release. Good thing they didn't but it delayed their success here. Their uniqueness makes them special.
Kai Burns yeh out of the 3 I'd say Dave Grohl is probably the least talented composer. But he is still great at what he does and foo fighters proved that. Though Matt Bellamy and Jonny greenwood take experimenting rock music to another level and the muse and Radiohead's genre range are much wider than foo fighters. All great bands tho imo.
Yes, this was true. But now, the soul of their music had gone. With the new album and their setting up home in USA... Something went obviously terribly wrong. I felt just the same like you. My girlfriend knows ' em since they all were young. And she was the one, who always believed in "the boyz". But now she' s been very sad. And listened to other sound, cause she said: In the meantime, I just can't...listen to old, the real Muse. I dislike crying all the time. Theyre going to split up. And Dom looks sick. Matt seems like a stranger without his Rebel tooth an "Poker-face". This is not the boy with the wild heart. He sells out. The spooky thing: She never made such an announcement, which did not turn out, just the way she told it. Hopes herself, beeing wrong. I hope So as well....So long seeking souls. LG. F.
+Soggy Papaya - I don't think they try to sound like Radiohead on purpose. Muse is great that it goes in so many different directions. He even composes classical music.
+officeaddict33 I mean, so does Jonny Greenwood. That being said, the similarities are not all that strong. They're both experimental alt-rock bands from the late 90s-today. That's the biggest reason for the comparison.
I only discovered Muse a few months ago but I already consider them as one of the greatest bands I ve ever listened to ( Please forgive me for my english)!
You're probably right. But they do have a lot of similarities regarding crowd participation, musical influences and musicianship. Not to mention incredible replay value.
Absolution!! Aaaahhhhhh! That is the one I keep going back to. I will listen to the other albums for a week or 2, and I do love them all, but then it is right back to Absolution. :)
It's falsetto if you can't belt out the note and can only whisper it, literally means "false singing". Make no mistake, Matt Bellamy can definitely project those high notes
It's amazing how versatile they are and how cohesive they sound with every type of sound they try. No one sounds like them. They are unique. They just keep blowing me away.
If/whenever Muse release another album I'd love to see them. I'm a big fan and Matt Bellamy is a freaking badass guitarist, he's one of my favourite guitarists and influences for guitar
Something I love about muse im that they have hard rock, metal music but thier music is so briliant(I mean symphonies) match so well and this is why I love them so much.
One of the few Band that really crossed and adopted some elements of different rock and metal sub genres, successfully, and without leaning too heavy on one sub genre. So much so that other bands were inspired by their songs (example: ERRA made a cover of Stockholm Syndrome and Dream Theater were inspired by the same song).
I'm almost 18 now and I've been fan since I was just a really little girl because of my dad listening to it. Now I've seen them in 2011, my first ever concert in Nijmegen Goffertpark, Holland and in 2015 at Rock Werchter, Belgium. After that I went on March 9th AND 10th to their Drones World Tour in Ziggodome, Amsterdam. I can't stop talking about how much they helped me and how much I adore them, genuinely dreamt that Matt was in front of me and said Hi, after that I believed for 3 weeks I actually got to meet him
I don't know why everyone is hating on there last two, and probably most popular, albums. If you're a "true" Muse fan, then you're going to support everything they come out with. And don't worry. Matt himself said that they were going to focus more on their traditional style of music so don't all of you start quitting on them now.
That's not entirely correct. A fan listens to the music and loves it. When there is something that bothers him, he can criticise the band, bring up arguments. A hater wouldn't be able to do that. A hater would say "it's shit" without explaining. And someone who forces himself to love eberything the band releases... well that's a fanboy.
+Bass Lightyeah They didn't say they had to force themselves to love everything. I love all their songs and all their albums. Sure, I think their older stuff is better, but I don't love the newer stuff any less. And I couldn't possibly criticize anything they've done. They are my favorite band because I absolutely love everything they put out there, and that's not gonna change until they stop playing music.
That's not a "true" fan. That is a blind fan. A true fan tries their best to give the best criticism and opinions to fix the band they've dedicated their appreciation to.
Best band ever in my opinion. I heard Time Is Running Out on Fuse on TV in 2004/2005, and loved it. Kinda forgot about it. After my mom passed away in 2007 I found their music again. I've been hooked since. I don't mean to sound like a broken record of "this band changed my life!!!" but.... they honestly did. This band has my heart forever.
I was born in 2001,in America, and people think it's weird that I listen to Muse and how obsessed I am with them...but their music is just amazing. XD Not gonna lie.
You need a dictionary to tag a genre for Muse. Muse is Muse. You need to invent a new word for this kinda of rock or call it alternative and live well. Hate those attempts to define something whole new and original.
DRONES i think is the 3rd best album, my opinion: Absolution Black Holes & Revelations Drones Origins of Symmetry The 2nd Law The Resistance Showbiz Let's be honest though, all their songs our world class, Muse are my life!
"race, its a race, and im gonna win, yes im gonna win, and i will light the fuse, and ill never lose." Those are some really great and beautiful lyrics for sure.
If Origins of Symmetry hadn't been delayed 4 years in the US, I wonder if Americans would be any more aware of/in love with the band. Seriously ridiculous how little my fellow Americans know of and appreciate Muse.
IKR!!!!! But honestly I think it’s a good thing the fact that they’re not widely known in America. Personally I think it makes them that much more special! I like to think I’m one of the few lucky ones to have been privileged to know who they are and experience their music. Ive become obsessed! Its funny how they lack popularity here in America yet they’re a worldwide mega band who have toured all over the world countless of times, and have won Grammies, multiple “Best Live Band”, even best Rock Album. If you ask me I say they’re up there with Queen! Silly Americans are sleeping on this talented one of a kind musical prodigy that is known as MUSE!!! 🤧 so sad
ronny jonny yeah its gonna release in 2018 oct or even sooner since they dont have as much time to waste as when they were younger and they might have a live CD after christmas
MUSE without a doubt is up their in the top 100 "musical artist" of all time. You got your Beatles, your Rolling Stones, your 2pac, your michael Jackson, the list goes on that muse will just never surpass. But MUSE will definitely go in the books as top 100.
I really think they sound nothing like Radiohead. I might vaguely hear some similarities in like one or two songs, but Matt's voice and their music in general is really distinctive.
microcuts was written post mushroom trip where matt had a dream he was avoiding swinging blades. plugin baby has no meaning, Matt has stated this several times. Origin of Symmetry has loads of information about how the album was recorded hehe I've been a fan since they first started and to see them come this far is crazy!
mehhhh was ok, but you guys really did brush off a lot of the details of the band (e.g. their origins, early darker style because of Matthew Bellamys world views and his darker/weirder life, their very very very devote fan base, their technical abilities as musicians, etc
Also WatchMojo.com you mentioned Twilight without adding that they later regretted it.....that's a big no Also that the "dubstep" sounding song (The 2nd Law: Unsustainable) is not actually dubstep, its just matt scratching his guitar strings and using a effect pedal.
