I like this channel much more than did you know movies. There are already plenty of really big name movie buffs on youtube, and honestly, this format doesn't work that well for it. This format does work for food though. In fact, there are some food buffs that use a similar format already. The problem is that they're not really big channels, and don't upload content that often anymore. Either they run out of ideas fast, or they just give up. But the DYK team always knows how to keep things refreshing, so I think this channel will go far. and I shouldn't have to say this last part, but of course this is just my opinion.

Hey guys, writer of the video L.D. Murphy here with a bonus trivia fact! Did you also know that Anthony Pero, the founder of Totonno's originally worked at Lombardi's before going off to establish his own pizzeria? In fact, that's him on the right standing next to Lombardi at 0:11 Furthermore, both John Sasso and Pasquale Lancieri both allegedly worked at Lombardi's too before opening their own famous pizzerias John's Pizzeria and Patsy's respectively.

As someone from New York I will say this: Everywhere else's "New York styled" pizza is just terrible. But its weird Ive seen my fair share of people come here, and with their first slice they say "Ehh its not that different." However the people who spend a month or a few here (for college and whatnot), eat pizza every now and again something funny happens. When they go back to their home they always realize how bad their home pizza actually is.

I live on the other side of the country and where I live New York style pizza basically means thin crust with really large diameter and if the pizza restaurant sells multiple types of pizza then you avoid the thin crust because for some reason they can't do it right but if all they specialize in is thin crust then it's better this video shows Pizza that looks better than just a standard thin crust but it still looks extra thin compared to say Domino's regular pizzas

I love that people have come to associate that song specifically with Spider-Man 2 when it's literally just an old Italian folk song. It's like the modern equivalent of the Tetris theme, which is just an old Russian folk song.

New York style pizza is even more personal than most Italian styles because it is very common to order by the slice and not an entire pie.

When I lived in Chicago I *hated* how the pizza was so far removed from New York style. A good pie needs to have a soft, doughy crust and you should be able to hold a folded slice from the crust without it drooping too much. Philly comes the closest to good ol' New York "style" pizza.

Never had New York pizza before. I'm from a small town in Atlantic Canada and the pizza there is somewhat famous across the country for its unorthodox style, so I've always eaten that.

I usually hit the slice crust-first. Pizza crust dries out and becomes inedible after it cools. Everyone knows the best bite is the tip, get rid of the crust and every bite is like the first bite. I need converts so people stop thinking I'm piz-lexic.

Everyone complained at first about the video game music in these videos not matching the content, but I disagree. The vg music makes the videos more enjoyable, and in some cases like this video's opening using TMNT music, it even fits thematically. I love it. VG music is so fun and engaging, and it keeps the videos more entertaining than they would be using other music.

A thing on Pizza in general, according to some stories, the class style/toppings to Pizza were based off the colors of the Italian flag, red tomato sauce, white cheddar and green seasoning

You know just enough to sound cool at parties, but not enough to be factually correct. Yes, they use forks and knives on pizza, but only to cut it as the pie is traditionally served uncut. Cut with utensils, eat with your hands.

The only thing the Americans that I can say as an Italian does well taking the origins and making it its own style. Love a good NY pizza but of course nothing can and will beat the traditional Pizza back home not only in Naples but the south of Italy in general.
