Hi . I am in New Zealand. My grandfather was the grandson of John O'Neill who was the son of Cornelius O'Neill of Cork who was the son of Joao O'Neill and grandson of Conn,.the GreaT Hugh . My grandfather looked very like the present O'Neill Hugo Ricciardi O'Neill. My grandfather told me about his aunts who were both catholic nuns at Bom Successo convent and he had lived in a house where their portraits hung over the mantel. Cornelius went back to Lisbon and died there and his son also Cornelius ( Curlee) went to New York. My grandfather followed him but then followed the goldrush to New Zealand. I am trying to find out who my Portuguese or French grandmother was. The first Cornelius maybe the son of Valentina Ferreira or perhaps I have missed a generation. Any ideas?
