'The History of SmackDown!' was a five part documentary that ran from July to November of 2017, covering both my personal journey growing up with the WWE franchise as well as the evolution of the games themselves. This full length, nearly 90 minute movie collects all five parts into one, delivering the entire 'History of SmackDown!' in one complete package. I hope you enjoy this trip down PlayStation and WWE's memory lane. Thank you for watching.

I love all your wrestling content videos and I love your Halloween videos as well that really awesome but to answer a question about the stats on at least on Smackdown too but you can do nothing about it on Smackdown one all you had to do was go through the ranking system and go about this two ways you can choose you could put the person in the ranking you want then go through take everybody else out and then put them all back in that was originally there save for the WWF title say Dlow Brown and actually make it to where he's the number one Contender for the WWF title or if Delo holds a championship you can challenge for that title don't matter which Championship it is you can do a title versus title match so there's two ways you can actually do that so yeah you can change the ranking system and SmackDown To Know Your Role I did it plenty of times one time I did it with Jeff Hardy which was awesome

I'm with you ONE MILLION percent on the belts. Every year when a new game came out, the very first thing I thought about and hoped for was "Man I really hope the champs come out wearing their titles when they come to the ring!" That ending was so bitter sweet. I can COMPLETELY relate and it really made me feel melancholy. I was born in 1989, had such similar experiences as you described, and guess what, me and my one remaining wrestling buddy stopped playing the games with Smackdown vs Raw 2008. A terrible game. We started our own WWF btb on here comes the pain, I booked Smackdown he booked Raw, we worked together to play out the matches as well as possible, recorded the events onto VHS, and carried this on until Smackdown vs Raw 2007. We had about 8 school books of full BTB hand written booking. We carried on with 2007 until probably 2013, when at 24 years old life really was too busy to carry it on. I kept all the books, and I think back to those times with a smile and the formations of a tear. Thank you for the video.

Thank you so much for making this, what a wonderful trip down memory lane. I'm sure i'm not the only one who's childhood was massively influenced by playing this with friends. Loved how you signed off too. These aren't just good games, they take us back in time when Wrestling games were cool, fun and about the stories we'd tell our friends when playing these games. We'll never have those days back but this vid reminded me just how good they were.

I feel lucky to have experienced as a kid the nes to the snes and genesis, to the n64 and ps1, then the xbox and ps2, and my final console was the xbox 360. That ending... I know I'm kinda late to the party here, but damn that was good. Growing up, I basically played most of the wwe games alone, but they were a big part of my life, all the way through til wwe 13. Of course, nothing compares to the good old Smackdown series, and seeing that through someone else's eyes was just brilliant. Absolutely my favourite aspect of this series! Watching this, agreeing with parts, disagreeing with others, brought so many memories of each game back. What a way to relive those experiences, good job Mr 616 :)

I fell in love with "WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role" as soon as I saw it at a friend's house, when he launched it on the first "PlayStation" and then invited me to play with him (this was in 2001, most likely). That was incredible! I immediately noticed many different aspects that were superior and different from all other wrestling games I had seen, including on the same console. Later, other friends and I resolved our conflicts by coming to this guy, fighting in matches, organizing our own mini-championships like “King of the Ring.” In 2003, my parents bought me a "Playstation" and I was simply lost from reality for a whole month, I didn’t even go outside for a walk: I focused on completing “Resident Evil”, “Dino Crisis”, “Silent Hill” and of course I played "WWF SmackDown!" (I don’t remember if I bought both parts at once or first the second and then the first). Until the end of 2005, I actively played games from the first "PlayStation". Only at the end of 2007 did I completely switch to PC gaming. At the same time, at my other friend’s house I saw a disc with “WWE RAW” (I don’t remember whether it was the first part or the second, probably still the first, there Kane was the same as in “Just Bring It” and “Shut Your Mouth") and asked him to show me what it looks like. It was nice to see familiar faces and appreciate new features not available on "PS 1", on the other hand, it looked and felt nothing like "WWF SmackDown", my interest quickly faded. Then from time to time I saw game moments from the “WWE” series of games on RU-vid and noticed to myself that this was not at all the same, it did not look fun and exciting. It rather became more reminiscent of those same wrestling games that I saw on "PS 1", unable to compete with “WWF SmackDown!” Several years ago, having assumed that "WWF SmackDown!" simply had to have some kind of sequel, I learned that there actually was, at the very least "Just Bring It". I looked on RU-vid and saw the same wrestling, exciting and dynamic, as I remembered it from previous "WWF SmackDown!" games. I also noticed technical improvements. However, I didn’t bother finding and setting up an emulator. And just two weeks ago, suddenly but decisively, I decided to do this: I installed the "PS 2" emulator, found “Just Bring It”, and then “Shut Your Mouth”. After which I also decide to find an emulator for "PS 1" and download two “WWF SmackDown!” games. And I was very lucky to accidentally find out about the availability of a mod for the best wrestling game on "PS 1". These games stand the test of time and are played even now in a fun and interesting way, of course I take into account the two voiced parts of the series from "PS 2" as well.

@yung black I had that problem once before but I was using the old big ps2, once I changed to the slim ps2 I have then up the disc speed it worked fine. Hopefully that helps.

@@yungblack8714 Where black PS2 discs are DVDs, blue discs are CD-ROM based and were used in the early days of the PS2 but tended to have problems being read by the console (allegedly they have a higher read speed, so spin faster and consequently slip out of place easier). A number of fixes have been suggested including changing the position your PS2 is in (e.g. if it's standing up, lay it on its side and vice-versa), using a composite/SCART cable instead of component, putting folded tape on the top of the disc to weigh it down slightly, and fiddling with the PS2's laser to realign it, but honestly your best bet is buying a slimline PS2 instead (unless you want to risk fucking up your disc/PS2).
