Honestly, Stellar disbanding was probably to me one of the few times I wanted a group to disband. They were treated sooooo bad under their label. I also want to know why Eric left cause,though I’m not placing all blame on him, I do give him some blame for leaving cause after seeing the trajectory that the group went in wasn’t great. It also should say something about the public and how fickle they are. They bashed them for doing a sexy concept but as soon as they did an innocent/cute one, it goes unnoticed. To think they go to clubs and smoke just cause of that concept is just disgusting and awful

I feel angry they ripped Gayoung from university to sexually exploit her. She was paid 10k the entire time and the erotic reputation burnt bridges and she couldn't teach or go back to uni.

The girls are such good people and didn’t deserve to be exploited by their company. I am glad that they are in the process of healing. I will be supporting the members in what they are currently doing. They deserve support!

Stellar calling out the Kpop industry is so amazing they used there songs to tell their story and expose the big problems in the industry. Their so correct a group from a small company can literally put out the song of the year but a big company artist can release recycled trash and steal the title because people can’t just judge for the music quality. So sorry for these talented queens hope they find happiness in their feature.

I never see people saying this but I have to say it: I think it was quite irresponsible of Eric to basically drop them when all of the girls were recruited into the company because of him. Sure, he wanted to "focus on his career", but Shinwa are legends and he was already an established artist, so I don't understand the rush. Both the company and him made sure the group's image depended on him, he produced and pick music and concepts and probably the lineup itself, they were called "Eric's" group", they were told to mention him on every interview, their album sales came mostly from his fans. Eric and the company probably fell off, he didn't renew his contract and in the end it was the Stellar girls who suffered.

Marionette and Vibrato were absolutely amazing and I remember how much hate they got and it made me upset. I always thought it was a classy sexy and you could tell how badly they were being s*xualized and the members had no say. I hate how they were treated. 🙁

The "We're really innocent" comment really got to me because a group's concept can sometimes keep the GP from seeing the members real personalities. 😢 Dreamcatcher has a rock/horror concept and I know that it's an automatic no for much of SK's GP but they're one of the sweetest, funniest groups in K-Pop. I suspect that one of the reasons DC is doing a reality show is to reach people who wouldn't normally give them the time of day. There have been so many really talented groups that have disbanded because of the sexy concept that I don't know why companies even try it anymore. There are adjacent concepts, like girl crush or dark elegance, that are safer and more profitable these days.

Stellar and Rania actually had more in common than just Youngheun for a member. Both did sexy concept (but for Rania it was from the beginning), both had lineup changes (Rania is No. 1 of all groups in this category) and just as Stellar was "Eric's group", Rania was "Teddy's group"

The fact that one member can't even drink white milk to this day is just sad.

I like how the public felt “so bad” for the girls when they only responded to the concepts that were forced on Stellar. Screw the public. They didn’t give a damn. They worked so hard, and now are forever traumatized by what that company made them do by always threatening them with their contractual obligations. Their other songs were bops too, but no one cared. Gayoung only wears super conservative clothing now because she doesn’t want the public to see her as sexy/slutty/*bad*, and Joenyul can’t drink white milk ever again because it makes her physically ill to think about that video and it’s allusion to “a certain act.” I’m so sad for them. "Mask" is my favorite Stellar song due to the melody and how it makes me shed tears at how good it is and the outfits they wore which consisted of coordinated tops with flowy skirts many people got angry thinking that they plagiarized Girls' Day's outfit for "Something"

stellar was one of my ult fave girl groups, after they came back with marionette. but i did know about them for longer because they did a video thing with teen top once, because both groups were produced by shinhwa members. it wasn't the sexy concept that drew me in, but because marionette was a BANGER. and to dance like that in HEELS? and i saw the video where the sound tech messed up and hyoeun and minhee were effortlessly hitting the notes live, and they kept on going. so i've been a fan for awhile, so i was also definitely there when they released archangels of the sephiroth and fans did a petition not to support stellar financially in any way. we were like do NOT buy the album because the members want out. like, can you imagine? telling people NOT to buy your fave group's album because you feel so sorry for them, you just want them to be free from this hell hole.

It really sucks that these women were exploited bc they produced great music. Their sexy concept was also something I enjoyed. But obviously, if people are being hurt, it’s not good.

One of my first and fave stellar songs is sting, I feel like that was a perfect execution of the sexy concept they were comfortable with, could grab the public attention, and their company should have started with something years ago.

I hate that they had to do Marionette, but I love that song. It was so great. The video shouldn’t have had all that nasty shit, including the milk scene and the butt rubbing (wtf was that?). However, how did they not go viral for that super professional and awesome a cappella performance? Most groups from the big three would not have continued like that. That’s showed true style, poise, professionalism, and I have no clue as to why they did not get super famous for it. Society really sucks sometimes Sex sells, huh? 😢

I dont think theirs is a story of the company's treatment of them like many think. I think its a story of the way the public treats them. Many people that weren't even fans were making demands of their music style and dress. The company and the girls were trying to cater to the public but didn't get results when they did. It was proof that these people weren't fans. They were just people that want kpop groups to fit their standards at all times. For sure I’m deeply sorry for them, but it also did remind me that Rania/Blackswan have similar experiences. I honestly think the group found their perfect concept with crying, slightly sexy but cheerful and cute. on the other hand i cannot watch the mv for sting, its super uncomfortable. I actually like marionette and vibrato but I completely understand why they were uncomfortable. im not entirely surprised their early videos didnt catch on because rocket girl and ufo were kinda terrible and way too autotuned but i absolutely loved study and I'm sad mask never got recognition because it was an amazing song with a really pretty mv. The marionette choreography makes me so incredibly uncomfortable to this day. I don't know what the choreographer was thinking. You can generally get away with either very sexy outfits _or_ very sexy choreo. A mix of both is also possible, but it has to be correctly distributed. _(If that makes sense.)_ In my mind, properly balanced concepts look something like this: The horizontal line continuing on each side until the "|" vertical line represents how much or how strong the outfits are versus the choreo. And it usually works out as long as they are balanced, like any of the possibilities shown. If the outfits are very sexy then the choreo can't be overdone, and vice versa.
